Hedge Fund

16 Jan

When we want something very badly and we aren’t sure we can accomplish it, we may hedge our bet to try to increase our odds. For instance, if we’re dating someone we like but aren’t sure the relationship will go anywhere, we may decide to date someone else on the side. That way, if one situation ends, we’ll have the other to fall back on. Or if we want someone to believe in us but know we can’t give them what they need, we may fabricate stories about our plans and pretend to do things in ways that will bring them closer. We may think if we can get them on board we’ll figure out how to keep them there later. Hedging our bet is a way to negate any loss that may come. In some arenas, it’s not a bad idea, but when interacting with others, it can be dangerous. Working behind the scenes may work against us. If those involved discover what we’re doing, we may lose everything. Nobody appreciates dishonesty and if our subterfuge is uncovered, the goal we’re seeking may be lost. Forever. When we want something, the best choice is to honestly and openly express our desire for it, and then do what is needed to achieve it. There isn’t anything we can’t do and we can gain whatever we’re seeking with honor. We don’t need to hedge our bet to win. We can win by doing our best.

The world is filled with all kinds of ideas. There are many ways to accomplish anything and if we choose to manipulate a situation, our options increase. If we aren’t sure we can get to our goal, we may choose to creatively shape our actions and frame our ideas in ways that make them seem more attractive. There is nothing wrong with enhancing our approach to make it more successful, but if we do it using trickery or pretense, we may get to the goal but our success may be precarious. Truth always rises and once all the facts are uncovered we may lose in the end. It does no good to gain something that slips through our fingers once our deceptive methods have been uncovered.

There are times when we may be unsure we can accomplish what we we’re seeking. We may think we don’t have the tools needed to get there or others involved will not receive us. We can talk ourselves out of any goal if our desire to achieve it isn’t strong enough. But there really isn’t anything we can’t accomplish. We have everything we need to succeed and even if we aren’t sure, we can go forward step by step and get to the goal. Manipulation, deceit, duplicity and trickery are tools for the weak. We are strong enough to move forward being honest and clear in our objective and we will succeed. We don’t need to hedge our bets. We have everything we need already.

Today if you’re thinking of manipulating a situation to get what you want, remember your integrity. You already have everything you need to succeed and you can win by being honest and sincere. There isn’t anything you can’t accomplish. Be the best you can be today and make your decisions based on the high standards you cherish. You are a gift to the world. Set the example for good and choose well.

Nobody Knows

14 Jan

They say everyone has secrets of some sort. Maybe there are personal things we keep to ourselves or maybe we lie about our age, or our background, or stretch the truth when talking about our experiences. Or we may be dishonest about big things like if we were married before or have broken the law. We can say anything we want and can be honest or lie. We can do things privately when nobody is looking, perhaps unethical or even illegal things, and hope no one finds out. We may think if nobody knows what we’re doing we’ll get away with it and be fine, but nobody is perfect, and we may leave a trail that leads back to us. If we’re found out we may deny the allegations, but once we’ve done something, no matter what it is, it’s permanent and cannot be undone. It will be there forever. Doing something badly or dishonestly can never bring us happiness. Our personal integrity is priceless. It’s worth more than anything we could ever acquire or own. If we compromise it, even if nobody knows, we lose. We are what we do and in the end if we choose well, even when it’s hard to make a good choice, we will gain. We can choose the higher course and opt for nobility even when other options arise. There is nothing more powerful than being honest and true, and it shows in everything we do.

Some people think if nobody knows what we’ve done, it’s like it didn’t happen. It’s almost as though they believe in a parallel universe where our secret actions can hide, never to be revealed. We could live two lives at the same time – the one we live out in the open and share with others, and the one we live in secret doing things we hope nobody will ever see. However, deception will complicate our lives and get in the way of our decisions, and can block our way forward. Only by being honest and straightforward, by living cleanly and openly, will we ever achieve our greatest hopes and dreams.

A spider’s web is an intricate and sticky creation. It’s designed to hold whatever crawls onto it or gets too close. Once captured, struggling only increases its hold on the victim and it’s impossible to escape. When we tangle our lives up with dishonest choices and lies, when we hide what we’re doing and keep secrets, we create a personal web that captures us and holds us tight. Everywhere we turn we must be careful not to reveal some private information or let others too close. If we continue the deceit, we may find ourselves stuck and unable to move forward. But we can free ourselves by choosing to be honest. Each time we make a good decision it will open a new door for us, and in time, we will be able to let go of all the trappings we created. There is nothing better than an honest, noble life. It will bring us happiness and peace, and we will move forward with confidence.

Today if you’ve been tangling your life up with the complications of dishonesty and secrecy, change your path going forward. Living openly and nobly will open all the doors for you. Choose wisely and move ahead with confidence. You deserve the best of everything and choosing well will bring it to you.

Pink Slip

12 Jan

As we go through our lives we meet all kinds of different people. Some are acquaintances with whom we have little contact, some we only see in passing, and some become our friends. Having friends is a great support and it can be fun to share our lives with them. When we have close friends, we feel connected, but sometimes we may find ourselves in situations where we have a friendship with someone who turns out to have a negative impact on our lives. Maybe they aren’t honest with us, or manipulate us, or pretend to like us but gossip about us to others. If we share intimate details of our lives with them and they aren’t trustworthy, we may face complications because of our connection with them. When we realize someone we thought was a trusted friend isn’t someone we want to share our lives with, we may disconnect and move forward without them. It’s not easy to think about firing our friends, but if we find the relationship is impacting us negatively, we may end our interactions with them. It can be hard to face the end of any relationship but our lives are important and our happiness is our responsibility. If we’re tangled in a relationship that’s hurting us, we can let it go. We can make choices that bring us comfort and security, and we can move forward any way we choose.

We base our understanding of situations on what we see, what we hear, and what we perceive to be the truth. If everyone in our lives was honest and open about their plans and ideas, it would be easy to discern what is real going forward. Unfortunately, some people have personal agendas that involve secrecy and manipulation. If they are adept at fooling others and we’re involved with them, we may get caught up in a situation that hurts us. Our lives are ours and we may design them in the best way possible. We don’t have to remain in situations that impact us negatively. We can change our course and move forward another way.

Sometimes when we try to step away from a relationship, others may offer plausible excuses for why things have happened, or why we were treated dishonestly. We can listen to any explanations we like and still trust what’s best for us. Even if the one who hurt us promises to change, we may move forward a different way. We can choose what’s best for us in all our dealings. We have all the wisdom we need to make the best choices and we can adjust our path at any time. Happiness is always available to us. We can make decisions that will bring more of it into our lives.

Today if you need to change a relationship with someone be wise and make the best choices going forward. You deserve the very best of everything. You don’t need to remain in any situation that hurts you and you can choose to go another way. Make the finest decisions possible to bring happiness into your life. You already know what’s best for you. Today decide to do what is needed to gain it, and move forward with confidence.

Cheating

10 Jan

When there’s something we want to accomplish, sometimes we think we’re ready but find it hard to move forward. We may think we’re prepared to make the change, talk about it, get others to help us, make a plan and attempt to work it. But if we aren’t convinced we really want it, despite all the planning we may look for ways to cheat. If we aren’t ready to do what’s needed to turn the tide, we may vacillate back and forth with our decision. For instance, if we want to lose weight we may sign up for a program we think will work and determine to move forward. At the beginning, we may feel strong in our decision but if we aren’t ready to change we may look for ways around the diet requirements, make up “cheat days,” or pretend we’re eating less than we know we are. Our confidence may suffer as time passes and nothing changes. We won’t find success even if we pretend we’re working hard and nothing will change. Looking for a way to cheat is a sign that we’re not yet ready to move forward and it’s unlikely we’ll find success. Everyone is on their own timetable. If we really want something to happen, we can do what is needed to achieve it. But if we’re unsure, or unconvinced, it’s better to wait before we try to implement the actions we need to take. If we aren’t ready, we can be honest with ourselves and prepare to get ready. We can take the time we need to change our thinking, decide what we really want, and then plan our way forward. There isn’t anything we can’t do, but we must decide we really want to achieve the goal or we’ll go nowhere.

Sometimes we make decisions based on what others think we should be doing instead of what we really want to do. There may be pressure from friends or family to change something in our lives and if that pressure is great enough we may try to go along. But change only happens when we decide we want it. We are the only ones in control of our lives and if we aren’t ready, we can wait. The best we can do is decide what we want most for ourselves and then live our lives accordingly.

There may be times when we really want to change something but haven’t had the courage or the ability to make it happen. Maybe we aren’t convinced we can do it, or perhaps it will take longer than we hoped, or it’s harder than we thought it would be. We can always change our plans and modify what we want going forward. But if there is something we really want and haven’t been successful in achieving, evaluating our reasons for wanting the change may help us commit. If our motivation is strong enough we will succeed. We can do anything when we’re ready. If we want a change, even if it’s eluded us in the past, we can make it happen.

Today if you’ve been going back and forth with a decision you want to make, decide what you really want and go forward. You can do anything you want to do. What’s happened in the past doesn’t matter. The road ahead belongs to you and you can make it any way you want. Decide where you want to go and be confident. There isn’t anything too difficult for you to achieve.

The Same

When we go through bad experiences that make a big impression on us and impact us deeply, we may get stuck. Moments that are intensely painful may alter the way we see things going forward. If we’ve faced a very hard trial, or one that has hurt us severely, we may struggle with self-confidence. Life is full of experiences and some of them can be very difficult. But our experiences are only passages and we can navigate through them, learn from them and then let them go. If we hold onto the past, we may find we are unable to live fully in the moment where we are. If we focus on something that is behind us and relive it again and again in our minds, all our days going forward will look the same and we may miss the full experience life has to offer us. Each day is filled with possibilities and if we are in the moment, living now, we may fully embrace them and enhance our lives. We must let go of the past if we want our present and our futures to be filled with promise. What’s behind us will never return. There is nothing we can do to change it. We can let it go, and move forward with confidence.

The human mind is complex and capable of managing many things at once. We can adjust and adapt to virtually anything that comes to us and we can figure out any problems we may face. But if we are constantly pre-occupied with something that has already happened and can never be changed, we may go around and around thinking about it and reliving it. There is no way to re-write history. There is no way to alter what has already occurred and the best we can do is learn all we can from the experience and then let it go. It’s not easy to overcome a serious setback or let go of an extreme disappointment. But rehashing it over and over again, revisiting it endlessly to see if we can uncover some hidden meaning or try to figure out why it happened, will never help us going forward. Our lives are precious and each day is a gift. We can learn from the past but if we want to be truly happy we must embrace the future.

Time marches on. We can think about things that are behind us and learn from them and our memories allow us to do that. But memories are only snapshots of what no longer exists. We deserve every blessing and every happiness. Bad things happen to us all. When they are in the past, we can learn from them and then we can let them go. We have so much promise for the days ahead and our happiness depends on our ability to embrace it. We can be happy and we can have joy no matter what has happened before. This life is a wonderful gift. We can embrace each day as it comes and find joy going forward.

Today if you’ve been obsessing over something that has passed and are struggling to let it go, remember today is your most precious gift. There is nothing that can change what is behind you. You can let go of yesterday and embrace today. Look forward. You have so much to offer and there is great happiness ahead. Reach for it and let it come.
