Blowing Leaves

26 May

Lots of people will come in and out of our lives and as the years pass, we’ll have countless experiences. What we do in each situation and the decisions we make define who we are. We communicate our thoughts and ideas through our actions and the way we communicate. We may be reserved and keep quiet much of the time, or we may be talkative and expressive with those around us. Speech is our most common form of communication and once we say something, it can never be taken back. Like leaves blowing in the wind, there is no way to go back and collect all the words we’ve said. They may be passed from one person to another, and spread far and wide. We all face times when we’ve expressed something we’ve regretted. If we’ve spoken harshly and hurt someone else, there is no way to reverse engines and make it go away. It will remain indefinitely. Of course, we can apologize if we feel remorse, but the past is unchangeable and permanent. Instead of trying to constantly repair what’s been done, we can stop and think before we speak. In the heat of the moment, our vision may be clouded by anger or despair, and we may lash out without considering the consequences of our words. When we feel the intensity rise, before we do anything, we can step back for a moment and look at everything objectively. There will always be a way out of every situation that won’t compromise us. We are smart and strong, and with focus and clarity, can find our way through any situation or issue. By trusting ourselves and taking the time we need to consider every option before proceeding, we can pave the way forward and prevent problems. We have everything we need to succeed at anything we like, and can make the best decisions moving forward.

Some people have volatile temperaments. They may fly off the handle and lash out without first thinking or even getting the whole story. Others will learn quickly not to trust them and they are very difficult to deal with. If they get in our way they may destroy our plans without giving it a moment’s thought. After the damage is done, we may be left to clean up their mess and regroup. We are only responsible of our own actions and decisions, but that doesn’t mean someone else’s won’t impact us. No matter what happens or who enters the picture, we can be clear about what we want and how we’re going to proceed. The road ahead will always be there for us and with patience and determination, we will prevail.

If something is bothering us, we don’t have to go overboard to make our point. You don’t need a grenade to kill a fly, but if we’re furious, we may grab one anyway. If we find something simply intolerable, we may let go of every restraint and blast our way through. We can do anything we like, but destroying others to make a point will never move us ahead. By remaining calm, and clearly stating our position, we can maintain control over the situation and get the results we desire. Nothing is too difficult for us to manage, and every success is possible.

Today if you’ve said too much or gone a little too far, step back and see the situation clearly and objectively. You are intelligent and wise, and will find all the answers you need. There isn’t anything you can’t manage, and with patience and focus, you will find your way through. Every road you desire is waiting, and nothing can keep you from success. Be confident and step forward toward the goal. There is great success just ahead, and you will claim it.

Wasn’t Me

24 May

We’ll make millions of decisions as we go through our lives, and will succeed at many things. We are intelligent and capable, and generally if we want to do something, we can make it happen. But life is full of complications, unforeseen developments and lots of drama and intrigue we may not see at the beginning. When problems arise and things go south, if we’re involved but intent on looking good, we may say, “It wasn’t me.” Despite our involvement, we may deny having anything to do with what’s happened, and try to walk away unscathed. It nobody looks too closely, we might get away with that, but truth is powerful, and in time it’s likely we’ll be found out. Denying what’s real is just a smokescreen that only delays the inevitable reveal. Unless we stay on the move and constantly change our situation, which is very hard to accomplish, eventually our dishonesty will be exposed. Nobody is perfect and we’re all going to falter at some point. It’s one thing to make a big mistake, and quite another to make it and then lie about it. Others will forgive errors in judgement even if it impacts them personally, but it’s harder to forgive lies used to cover up the mistake after it’s happened. When things go wrong and everything blows up, if we’re involved, we can step forward and honestly accept our part in the issue. We can then do whatever is needed to correct the situation and regain our footing. Every success is there for us, and there isn’t a problem or detour that can keep us from achieving it. By being truthful and open, we can step forward with clarity and confidence, sure we will reach every destination.

We all want to look as good as possible. We want to impress those we admire, make changes that improve our lives, and do things that will move us forward. We are capable of making excellent plans and reaching the goals we most desire. But life is complex and we may be unaware of decisions and situations going on that may impact our progress. Crap happens and eventually it’s going to happen to us. People get in the way, problems arise, things break and endless details may go wrong. It doesn’t always mean we took a wrong turn, or reflect on our choices. If we get stuck or turned around, we have everything we need to regroup and start again.

Some people will do or say anything to look good. They may lie about their qualifications or credentials, or manipulate those around them so they can jump over them and move ahead. When things go wrong, they may blame others and refuse to accept responsibility for their actions. It’s impossible to trust them and if we must interact with them, it may be very difficult. We are not responsible for anyone else’s choices but our own. We can choose wisely and stand strong, knowing success is just ahead and we will claim it.

Today if your plans have gone awry and others have been impacted, own your part in the situation and stand firm. You are intelligent and capable, and will find all the answers you need to move forward with clarity and confidence. Be wise and clear. The road ahead is still there for you and with determination and focus, every destination you desire is possible. You are strong and smart, and nothing can keep you from success. Move forward and every dream will be yours.

Better Late

23 May

Life is busy and we often have a lot of things to take care of and accomplish. It would be nice if we had people to do our chores, run our errands and take care of details for us, but that is a luxury most of us don’t have. It’s always nice, despite our busy schedules, to make time for friends and family. We might set up lunch dates or times to walk and talk together or any number of other activities that re-connect us and allow us to share our lives. When we set a time to meet, we expect everyone to be there. If someone is late, we can be understanding and continue on, but if they’re late every time it may become an issue. There is an old saying, “Better late than never,” well maybe. We can certainly excuse late arrivals once or twice, but if it’s a constant issue, and every time we set a time to meet the other person is consistently, habitually late, it may become a problem. Our time is valuable, and deserves to be honored. Constantly showing up late shows a lack of respect and can logistically create problems for our personal schedules. If we see that our appointments with someone will always run late, we can decline future requests to meet. We are always in control of our own lives and never have to do anything that doesn’t work for us. We can make excellent choices and decide how we will proceed in every instance. Our lives are ours to design and with clarity and focus, we can choose the best way forward.

Some people have trouble keeping their word. If they don’t show for appointments, and don’t follow through on commitments, it will be hard to trust them. They may apologize profusely when they drop the ball, and promise it won’t happen again, only to forget the promise the next time something comes along. We’re all responsible for our own lives, and every decision we make – good or bad. Nobody will cover our mistakes indefinitely, and we must accept accountability for every choice. If we’re negligent, we will face the consequences of our actions. Change is always possible, and when we’re ready we can correct any problem or issue.

Blaming others or situations when we’re at fault never works. If we’re irresponsible we can say it’s the way we were raised. If we’re rude we can say the situation warranted it, and on and on. We can try to excuse any bad behavior, and others might believe us for a time, but that won’t work indefinitely. By looking at every choice carefully, choosing the best path forward, and keeping our word, we will gain the trust and companionship of those around us. We can create the lives we dream of by being wise and considerate of others. Every goal is possible if we’re willing to follow through and do what is needed to make it ours.

Today if you’ve dropped the ball on a commitment, decide how you want to proceed. There is greatness inside you, but it’s up to you to choose the better part. There isn’t anything you can’t do, and every dream is possible. Be the best you can be and every door will open. You are amazing. Show us your best, and every success will follow.

Holding the Bag

20 May

We share our lives with lots of other people. Everyone has their own responsibilities and things they must address, and we all have things we continually need to get done. We’re all different and not always on the same playing field. Some of us have more money than others, more opportunities, more influence, more contacts and endless other benefits. We each have specific and unique lives, can control some things, and deal with the rest. When we interact with those around us, we may make commitments to do things, or be somewhere to help or assist in some project or task. If we’re honest when we make the deal and keep our word, generally everything works out fine. But some people don’t value honesty or loyalty, and may say they’ll do something they have no intention of following through on. If we’re the ones they gave their word to and they fail to show, we may be stuck holding the bag. It may be very uncomfortable to have issues we didn’t commit to pushed over onto us because someone else didn’t follow through. If that happens, what we do next is up to us. We can shake our heads, drop everything, and simply walk away, but if that affects others negatively, even though we weren’t initially at fault, it may come back to bite us. We can try to choose what’s best for all involved, but that may require our time and energy. By looking at everything clearly and objectively, we can decide how we want to proceed. We never have to cover for anyone else’s bad decisions, and can make the best choice for each situation. Every answer we need will be there and we can trust ourselves to choose wisely. The decisions of others may complicate our lives from time to time, but we know who we are and can move forward with confidence.

Families are complex. We all have our own ideas about how things should go and what should be done, and they may vary greatly even in the same family. If one person struggles with poverty, some may step up to help, and others may not. Each has their own reasons, and despite being in the same family, they may philosophically be very far apart. We can do what we like and make our own decisions, but still be respectful of those whose choices are very different. Few things have only one right answer and there are endless interpretations for everything. By staying true to who we are and honest with those around us, we will feel good about our choices, even if they are different.

Wherever we are, if there are others around us, we may feel pressure to conform to the group. If we make a suggestion they don’t agree with, but it will benefit our situation, we can proceed on our own. We never need permission or agreement to do anything we desire. We know what we want to do and possess everything necessary to make it ours. If we need information, we can find it. If we need help, we can ask for it. There isn’t anything too difficult or complicated for us to manage, and with persistence, focus and determination, we can accomplish whatever we desire.

Today if you’ve been left holding the bag because someone didn’t follow through, decide how you want to proceed. If the goal is important, look at all the possibilities and choose the best road ahead. You are intelligent and capable, and there isn’t anything you can’t do. Trust yourself and stand strong. Every single destination is possible and nothing can keep you from success. It’s all there for you. Step forward and claim it.

Tea Leaves

19 May

Every day we make lots of decisions, and each choice for good or bad, changes something. Some things go exactly the way we want them to, but that doesn’t always happen. We are capable of achieving many successes in our lives, but chances are we’re also going to experience some failures. If we’ve taken a wrong turn and fallen hard, and everything has gone haywire, we may struggle to figure out what to do to straighten our course. Nobody is perfect and there is no way to see the end of any road at the beginning. We’re all going to face failure at some point but that will never be the end of the journey. Some people may criticize, pointing out our failures as proof that we will never succeed at anything. They may believe the past will predict the future, but a previous disaster doesn’t mean nothing will ever go right again. Being superstitious, reading tea leaves to see the future, or believing previous mistakes will hold us down forever is just fiction. Like any good book of fiction, once we put it down, it can be forgotten. No matter what’s already happened, we can trust ourselves to do anything we like. Success will always be possible, and with persistence and focus, nothing is out of reach. We can always find the way forward, and achieve any goal. We are more powerful and wiser than we think we are, and can accomplish anything we desire.

Life is a constant process of learning. Everything we do teaches us something, and when things go wrong we learn what doesn’t work. If we learn all we can from each experience, and take that knowledge forward with us, it will increase our ability to understand the world more clearly and see the road ahead. There will always be countless complications and unforeseen developments that take us by surprise and upend our plans. Change is constant, and when the way forward turns or gets blocked, we can step back, look at everything objectively and choose the best options to proceed. Problems may come but that can’t stop us from reaching success. We are intelligent and wise, and will prevail.

Our personal behaviors may be an asset or a liability depending on what we express. If we have a quick temper and are easily angered, it may be harder to see solutions when things go wrong. If we’re vindictive and judgmental, it may be difficult to get agreement and support from those around us. We can pave the road ahead with wisdom and clarity, or complicate it by making choices that hold us back. We are all responsible for our own lives, and the decisions we make will either move us forward, or create obstacles. We know what we want and can do anything we choose. By being wise and thoughtful and doing what is needed to move ahead, every success will be possible.

Today if you think a past failure will prevent you from gaining success, stop and think again. Learn everything you can from what’s already happened and step forward with confidence. The past can never predict the future, and every goal is within reach. Decide what you want the most and begin the journey to make it yours. You are strong and wise, and nothing is out of reach. Every happiness is there for you, and you will reach them all.
