Skipping Over

16 Jul

Everything we want to accomplish will require something. Few things we desire will come without effort , and if we want to get to a goal, generally we’ll have to plan and work diligently to make it ours. Some things will come easily and require little to achieve, but others may be very difficult and demand lots of time, work, and focus to accomplish. When we want something that’s hard to reach, and it will require a lot of sacrifice to get it, we might look around for some kind of shortcut. Maybe we can skip over some things, fudge on some others, and try to wiggle our way through without having to work so hard. We might find a way to get around some of it, and reach the goal earlier and easier than if we’d done all the work. That may seem like a great idea, but the catch is that everything we do to get to the goal teaches of something of value we’ll need once we achieve it. We may arrive with only half the tools necessary to proceed forward with success. If we’re in college and don’t want to do an assignment, write a paper, or accomplish a task, we could get someone else to do it for us. Of course, that’s cheating, but if our personal standards are low and all we want is the grade, we may choose that option. Once done, we may complete the course and get the desired grade, but the knowledge we could have learned by doing the work ourselves will be absent. We may face a situation going forward where our future success depends on the experience and knowledge we would have gained by doing the previous work ourselves. Success is always possible, but the road to it is paved with work and focus. Skipping over the lessons we need to succeed will never help us. We are capable of accomplishing anything. By choosing to pave the road ahead by staying in and working hard, every dream will be possible. We can trust ourselves to accomplish whatever we desire, and create the lives we want the most.

We all have the same amount of time every day. We’re responsible for our own lives, and if we take on more than we can reasonably accomplish in the time allotted, our situation will become stressful and difficult. Doing half the work needed or skipping over necessary steps to get everything done will not help us succeed. We may look like we’re accomplishing tasks, but the items overlooked may come back to bite us. By taking the time to plan our work effectively, and declining more than we can manage, we will gain greater confidence and find increased success.

Many things must be done in order. Skipping steps and trying to succeed is like trying to drive a car without putting gas in it. No matter how much we think positively, the car isn’t going anywhere without fuel. We are intelligent and capable, and have everything we need to accomplish anything we want. We have all the wisdom and courage to tackle difficult accomplishments and succeed. By trusting ourselves, and stepping forward with confidence, nothing is out of reach and we will prevail.

Today if you’ve been sidestepping and looking for shortcuts to get through a difficult task, trust yourself. You’ve already accomplished many challenging things and nothing is too hard for you to manage. Stand firm and look at everything objectively. All the answers you need are there for you, and nothing can keep you from success.

Paving the Way

29 Mar

There are unlimited things we can accomplish in our lives and endless places we can go. The whole world is there for us, and every goal is possible. Some roads are easy, and we reach the desired destinations quickly, but others are more complex, and require thought, effort, and time to achieve. We can help ourselves reach success by looking at everything objectively and gathering as much information as possible before we begin. By planning carefully and paying attention as we step forward, we can pave the way ahead and avoid some pitfalls. But there may be times when we get excited, and all we can see is the end of the journey. We might jump in and begin before we get all the facts. If we’re captivated by an idea and eager to get started, we might forgo any prior planning and just start running forward. If we don’t have any clue about what lies ahead, the odds of running into trouble increase. Like stepping into the dark with no idea of direction, we might find ourselves going around in circles as we try to unravel one problem after another. Jumping in without planning may move us in the direction we want to go, but without any idea of what we may encounter, there will likely be unknown obstacles that stop us in our tracks. Roads that are rough and uneven are transformed with good, solid pavement. They become smooth and clear, and much easier to travel. The same is true for our personal goals. We can pave the road ahead with preparation and planning, and create a journey that will move us forward more effectively than if we just thoughtlessly ran ahead. We are intelligent and have enough patience to take the time necessary to ensure success before we begin any journey. There isn’t anything we can’t do and do well. We know what we want, and with focus and clarity, can step forward and make it ours.

Everyone has their own ideas about how things should be done. If we plan something they don’t like or it’s different from the way they would proceed, they may offer us advice, and suggest an alternate scenario. Of course, we can do anything we like and if we prefer their ideas may certainly adopt them, but nobody knows us better than we know ourselves. We don’t need anyone’s permission or agreement to do things our way. Every goal is possible, and we have everything we need to reach them.

Life is unpredictable, and there may be times when we must move quickly and don’t have time to plan before we start. Some situations are unexpected and there is no way to prepare before moving forward, and in those cases, there will be no way to anticipate what will happen. No matter what comes, we can trust ourselves to find the answers we need. We can think on our feet when we must and find our way through. We are intelligent and highly capable, and nothing can hold us down indefinitely.

Today if you have a big goal in mind, think about how you want to proceed, and plan your way forward. You have everything you need to reach any destination you desire. Get all the facts and pave the way ahead to success. Every goal is possible, and nothing can keep you from achieving anything you desire. Step forward and be confident. Every dream is possible, and you will make them yours.

Chapter One

26 Feb

We go through many experiences as we navigate the years of our lives. Each stage brings new things to discover as we learn more about ourselves and the world around us. But life isn’t divided into defined segments. It’s a continual process of learning and growing, but things may happen along the way that mark specific changes in what we’re experiencing. Like starting chapter one of a new book, we may be in situations where suddenly our lives have turned and we’re stepping on a new road. A new job, marriage, the birth of a child, a painful breakup, the death of a spouse, and a thousand other things may instantly change us moving forward. Important changes that affect us deeply give us the opportunity to review what we’re doing and where we are. We may choose to change everything, go in a completely new direction, or we may decide to stand still. Life is all about change, and sometimes those changes are far reaching and permanent. When our world shifts and we’re on a new road, we may feel uncomfortable, but facing a new story doesn’t mean we can’t succeed. With determination and focus, we can make what is uncertain and foreign become sure and familiar. There are great adventures for us and our first steps toward them may be unsettling, but once we move ahead, we will gain greater confidence and find comfort and satisfaction. The first chapter of a book never tells the whole story. It unfolds with each page. We can step forward and take advantage of every possibility as we move closer to the destination. Every success is there for us, and nothing is out of reach. We can be confident we will prevail and find joy and gratification in the process.

There are all kinds of books out there. Some have similar plots, and we can tell after the first few pages what will happen next. Others are more complex, and we have no idea where they will take us. Our lives are often the same. There will be predictable outcomes we expect and can prepare for, and there will be other times when unexpected developments surprise us and knock us down. We never know what will come but whatever it is, we can be sure we’ll have what we need to find our way forward. We can resolve even the most difficult and complex problems. Nothing can keep us from advancing, and we will prevail.

When we’re moving along in one direction and happy with our progress, if a sudden roadblock appears, we may be stopped and no longer able to move forward. If that happens, we can waste a lot of time trying to make it work, or we can change direction. It’s hard to turn around when the destination we desire is straight ahead, but everything changes in time. Turning our course doesn’t mean giving up. The goal is still possible, and when the doors open again, we’ll be ready to move ahead.

Today if something has changed and you’re facing a new and difficult situation, remember all the times you’ve already been successful. You are highly capable and will find the way forward. You know what you want and have everything you need to achieve it. Be sure of yourself and step forward. Nothing can keep you from the destinations you seek, and you will succeed.

Doing the Work

21 Jul

It would be so great if the things we wanted were easily available and we could just reach out and get them. We could climb every mountain, visit any destination, and achieve anything we desired. Yeah, that would be great, but unfortunately that’s not how life works. While some things may come easily, often what we want most will require careful planning, and lots of work. We can try to find a shortcut and sometimes that might be possible, but most of the time, we’ll have to forge ahead step by step until we get to the destination. Nobody gets a free pass, and we probably won’t win the lottery. Doing the work is the only sure way to pave the road ahead. We can do anything and go anywhere we want, and success is always possible, but we must be willing to do what is required to reach it. There are no magic genies, fairy godmothers, or magical stars. Every destination is possible but it’s up to us to get there. After we decide what we want, we can begin doing everything necessary to make it ours. It doesn’t matter how much work it will take, we can accomplish it. It doesn’t matter how hard it is, we can figure it out. Nothing is too big or too far away. We are stronger, smarter, and more powerful than we think we are. Every single goal is possible and each dream can become reality. We need only do the work to get there. There will probably be complications, problems may crop up, and we might have to overcome serious hurdles. Few roads are paved, but if we want to be successful, we can manage whatever lies ahead. Our lives are ours to design, and nothing is out of reach. By trusting ourselves, focusing on the goal, and doing the work, we will reach every destination we desire.

People are creative and there are all kinds of ideas about how to live our lives and become successful. There are get rich quick schemes that sound promising, but rarely work. We might get constant suggestions for ways to cut corners, and slip around details. We can do anything we like, but nothing will take us to success more effectively than good planning and consistent work. We know what we want, and have everything we need to achieve it. We can step forward with confidence, and be sure we will prevail.

We may face a time when the goal we’re working toward turns out to be much harder to reach than we thought at the beginning, and the effort it will take to achieve it is more than we can manage. If we cannot continue forward right now, we can set the goal aside until our situation changes and we have the resources we need to move ahead. Life is long, and there will be time to go back and capture whatever we desire. Success is always possible. We can have the lives we dream about, and achieve greatness.

Today if there’s something you want to gain, but haven’t yet stepped forward to make it yours, decide what you want the most. You are intelligent and capable, and nothing is out of reach. Every destination is waiting for you. Do what is necessary to achieve the goals you desire most. There is great success just ahead, and you will reach it.

Inevitable

9 Jul

There are a lot of unknowns in life. We can’t read the future and we can’t see what’s around the next corner. In most cases, we have no idea what will happen next, but there are some instances where we can predict outcomes. If we regularly eat more calories than we burn, we will gain weight. If we don’t put gas in our car and continue to drive, we will run out. Some things are inevitable based on the decisions we’re making. Most of the time we know what we’re in control of and what will happen if we don’t pay attention. But life is complicated, we get busy, and there are lots of distractions. Sometimes we get carried away going from one task to the next, and forget or ignore things that need our attention. We grab food on the go, even though we know it’s heavier than we want to carry, we may forget to fill the car up, water the plants, or take the dog out. And in the end, we pay the consequences. When we’re sitting in traffic with a dead engine because there is no fuel, arrive home only to find the dog has “decorated” the rug because we didn’t take him out, or finally notice the plant on the table is dead because we never watered it, we may have regrets. If we continue to neglect what needs to be addressed, our lives may get more complicated. We’re in control of everything we do and decide how we’ll spend our time. We can plan our days responsibly and prepare for what needs to be done. Our lives are a reflection of every decision we make. If we’re constantly getting into situations that cause us discomfort, embarrassment or hardship, we can regroup and plan more effectively. We are smart enough to make good, strong decisions and take care of our lives in ways that pave the road ahead. Every success is possible, and with focus and attention, we can do anything we desire.

We can accomplish our goals and go anywhere we desire, but everything has a cause and effect. We can control every decision we make, but we have no control over the results of those decisions. If we choose well, the outcomes will likely be what we desire. If we make a bad decision, the results may be far different. Every road ends somewhere. By taking our time, and looking at all the possibilities before we choose, we have the best chance of ending up where we want to go.

There are all kinds of influences around us all the time. We may have cultural, family or traditional pressures to live our lives a certain way, and make certain decisions. If things have been done a specific way for a long time, it may seem inevitable that we must follow them. We can do anything we like, but our lives are ours to design and we create our own destiny. There are endless roads to choose from, and we can chart our own course. We can have the lives we dream of, choose our own journey, and reach every success.

Today if you’ve neglected something that has caused complications, think about making a new plan moving forward. You are stronger and wiser than you think you are, and nothing is too difficult for you to manage. Be confident, and move ahead with clarity and focus. Every destination is there for you, and nothing can keep you from success.
