Peppermint Spinach

There are endless things we can do with our lives and we’ll make many connections as we move ahead. Some things naturally go together and others don’t. Peppermint is delicious on its own and spinach is fine as well, but if we put them together the result will not be appetizing. In many cases, our lives are like that too. With some people we’ll easily relate and be able to build good relationships, and with others, not so much. The trick is being willing to see things as they are and not how we want them to be. It’s possible to remain in a relationship that isn’t working simply because we want it to work and hope somehow everything will change and it’ll be great. The old saying that, “Hope springs eternal” is true, but we only have control over ourselves and our own decisions. Everything else is beyond our reach. There is no way to change anyone else or make them do anything. By looking at everything clearly and openly, and willingly accepting what is real, we will make the best decisions that will bring us happiness and peace. Our lives are ours to design and our happiness is our responsibility. We can make choices that will create the lives we want the most. Everything is possible and with honesty and clarity, we will reach every destination.

Habits and addictions are hard to change. It’s painful to watch someone we love continually do things that hurt them. We may try to stand in their way when they’re headed for trouble, or make excuses when they fall down. We may even lie for them to cover for what they’re doing that is impacting their lives negatively. None of that will ever help them find success. We can be supportive without enabling bad behavior, and show our love by stepping aside and allow them to face the natural consequences of their actions.

We may have a dream we want very much but because of our current circumstances or situations is not possible. We may try and try to make it work, only to fail again and again. It’s like pushing harder and harder against a locked door. Despite all our energy it will not open. It’s hard to let go of something we really desire, but change is constant, and just because something’s not possible now doesn’t mean it’s gone forever. We can set the dream aside for now, and move forward toward something else. When things change, we can try again.

Today if you’re trying to do something that isn’t working, or you’re in a bad situation that isn’t changing, remember your happiness is important. Look at everything honestly and clearly, and decide on your next steps. You are worth more than you imagine. Trust yourself and step forward toward the goals you want the most. Every success is there for you and you will make them yours.

Digging A Hole

People are incredibly creative. No matter what happens or what gets in the way, we can figure out how to proceed and what to do next. We’re intelligent and highly capable and can do anything we put our minds to. Everything we do defines who we are. If we’re honest in all our dealings, those around us will trust us and we’ll be free to move forward untethered by made up tales or stories that are untrue. Being honest requires intent and if we get into a situation that is uncomfortable and the best way ahead is difficult, we might choose to manipulate things by creating a fictitious scenario that allows us to move forward more easily. We can tell all the lies we want, but once we start fabricating, it’s hard to turn back around and tell the truth. It’s like digging a hole. When we first start we may make only a shallow dent in the surface, but if we keep digging, the hole will get bigger. Eventually we may find ourselves standing on the bottom with no way out but to climb up a vertical wall which is very difficult. Each lie is like digging another shovel full of dirt putting us in deeper and deeper. Lying complicates our lives in ways we can never predict. It’s hard to remember all the various things we’ve said and eventually, however long that takes, we may get so tangled up, moving forward will become impossible. Life can be hard and we’ll all face situations we don’t want to deal with, but by honestly looking at everything objectively we will find the way forward. We are smarter than we think we are, and nothing is too difficult for us to manage, and manage well. Choosing honesty brings freedom. We know who we are and what we want, and with clarity and integrity, we can reach any goal we desire.

We all want healthy, happy relationships. We may try hard to be cooperative and helpful, and not do things that bring stress or disharmony. It’s good to try to get along, but we don’t have to pretend to be something we’re not. We’re all different, and if we’re in a group where everyone wants to do something we have zero interest in, we can certainly go along to appease everyone else, or we can honestly and openly decline. There is sometimes a lot of pressure to conform and it’s always easier to follow along than to choose our own road. But our ideas are important and we are entitled to our own opinions. We can be polite and still say no. When we’re true to who we really are, we will find great satisfaction moving forward. 

Some people believe telling lies is okay so long as nobody gets hurt. That’s like saying it’s okay to cheat a little if nobody knows. The problem with being dishonest is that it tends to feed on itself. We tell one little tiny lie, and then it’s easier the next time to do it again. Then maybe something bigger happens and lying worked before so we do it again. After a while it may become a behavior trait and we may forget all about being honest. The best choice is to choose to tell the truth, no matter what. When we do, we will always be clear on where we stand, and have access to all the answers we need. We have so much to offer, and choosing to live well will bring us endless blessings.

Today if you’re in a difficult situation and it would be so easy to fix if you just lied about it, remember who you are. There is greatness in you and you are an incredible gift to the world. Be the best you can be, and choose wisely. Every single blessing is waiting for you and there isn’t anything you can’t do. Be confident in your decisions, and step forward with clarity and integrity. Every goal is possible and nothing can keep you from success.

Wasn’t Me

We’ll make millions of decisions as we go through our lives, and will succeed at many things. We are intelligent and capable, and generally if we want to do something, we can make it happen. But life is full of complications, unforeseen developments and lots of drama and intrigue we may not see at the beginning. When problems arise and things go south, if we’re involved but intent on looking good, we may say, “It wasn’t me.” Despite our involvement, we may deny having anything to do with what’s happened, and try to walk away unscathed. It nobody looks too closely, we might get away with that, but truth is powerful, and in time it’s likely we’ll be found out. Denying what’s real is just a smokescreen that only delays the inevitable reveal. Unless we stay on the move and constantly change our situation, which is very hard to accomplish, eventually our dishonesty will be exposed. Nobody is perfect and we’re all going to falter at some point. It’s one thing to make a big mistake, and quite another to make it and then lie about it. Others will forgive errors in judgement even if it impacts them personally, but it’s harder to forgive lies used to cover up the mistake after it’s happened. When things go wrong and everything blows up, if we’re involved, we can step forward and honestly accept our part in the issue. We can then do whatever is needed to correct the situation and regain our footing. Every success is there for us, and there isn’t a problem or detour that can keep us from achieving it. By being truthful and open, we can step forward with clarity and confidence, sure we will reach every destination.

We all want to look as good as possible. We want to impress those we admire, make changes that improve our lives, and do things that will move us forward. We are capable of making excellent plans and reaching the goals we most desire. But life is complex and we may be unaware of decisions and situations going on that may impact our progress. Crap happens and eventually it’s going to happen to us. People get in the way, problems arise, things break and endless details may go wrong. It doesn’t always mean we took a wrong turn, or reflect on our choices. If we get stuck or turned around, we have everything we need to regroup and start again.

Some people will do or say anything to look good. They may lie about their qualifications or credentials, or manipulate those around them so they can jump over them and move ahead. When things go wrong, they may blame others and refuse to accept responsibility for their actions. It’s impossible to trust them and if we must interact with them, it may be very difficult. We are not responsible for anyone else’s choices but our own. We can choose wisely and stand strong, knowing success is just ahead and we will claim it.

Today if your plans have gone awry and others have been impacted, own your part in the situation and stand firm. You are intelligent and capable, and will find all the answers you need to move forward with clarity and confidence. Be wise and clear. The road ahead is still there for you and with determination and focus, every destination you desire is possible. You are strong and smart, and nothing can keep you from success. Move forward and every dream will be yours.

So Many Butterflies

Our lives are busy and filled with many things we need to address – tasks, appointments, issues, complications and thousands of distractions. We all have things we want to accomplish and goals we want to achieve. If we have a lot of responsibilities we must attend to, we may need to carefully plan our time to ensure we accomplish what we most want to do. We may have clear intentions of doing one thing or another, but there are endless distractions that may pull us off track. Butterflies are lovely. When they fly near us we may be captivated by their beauty and grace, and for a moment, forget everything else. As we go through our lives, the unlimited distractions around us may be like butterflies coming near. We may push forward, but then see something interesting we didn’t notice before and go check it out. Or we hear something new that intrigues us, or remember something we meant to get done, or see an item that needs to be put away, or a million other things. There will always be dozens of ways to let go of our focus, look at something else and step away from what we want the most. We can do anything we like but we can’t do everything at the same time and expect to move forward. If we want to succeed, we must actually reach the goal. Playing around here and there, looking at this and that, or standing still will never move us forward. There are unlimited interesting things that may capture our attention and if we let them, they may hold us in place indefinitely. We know what we want and already possess everything we need to obtain it. By focusing clearly on the road ahead, and keeping our eyes focused on the goal, we will reach every success. There is greatness in us all, and with persistence and determination, nothing is out of reach.

Everyone has their own ideas about what we should do and how things should go. When we’re working toward a goal, someone may think they have a better plan than the one we’re using and offer their suggestion. We can take any advice we like, but there are a lot of people around us and each one may have a different idea. Constantly changing the way we proceed may keep us from moving forward. By carefully reviewing all the options possible, and trusting ourselves to make the best choice for proceeding ahead, we can step forward with confidence and reach success.

If we want to take a road trip, every map will have many possible options for reaching the destination. If we choose one route and stick to it we’ll get there in less time and with fewer complications than if we change the way forward again and again because another road looks better or more interesting than the one we’re on. By making a plan and then sticking to it we have the best chance of success. We are intelligent and capable, and with clarity and wisdom, can move ahead and reach every destination.

Today if you’re struggling to reach a goal, decide what you want the most and focus on the way forward. Keep your eyes on the road ahead and nothing can keep you from success. You are amazing and powerful, and nothing is too difficult for you to accomplish. Trust yourself and step forward with confidence. Every success is there waiting, and you will make them yours.

Forget That

There are generally people around us most of the time. We have family members, friends, acquaintances, work associates, and people we only see in passing. Everyone has their own ideas about how things should go, what we should be doing and endless other situations. We’re all entitled to our own opinions and decisions, and if we like, we may share them with others. If we are open about our desires and what we want to do next, we may freely express our thoughts to someone else. They may think we’re right on target and encourage us to move forward, or they may not. If they disagree with our plans, they may say the idea is ridiculous, or there is no way we could ever achieve the goal. They may tell us to forget that, and move onto something more reasonable – translation, something more like what they would do. We can always take any advice we like, but we know ourselves better than anyone else. Our friends may tell us to go one way, our family may point in another direction, and others may have different ideas. There are unlimited versions of what we could do and if we try to follow everyone else’s advice, we may end up going nowhere fast. If we want to take a road trip to a specified destination, there are all kinds of maps available. There will be lots of routes possible and if we can’t decide which way we want to go we might take one road for a while, then switch to another, then maybe turn around to jump onto a different highway to see what it has to offer, and on and on. We might eventually get to the destination, but it will likely take far longer and be much more difficult than if we had decided at the beginning exactly which way we wanted to go and stuck to the plan. We can do anything we like and listen to all kinds of opinions, but we are in control of our lives and once we determine exactly what we want, can step forward with confidence that we will succeed. Every destination is possible, and with clarity and focus, nothing can keep us from the goal.

Customs and traditions are powerful and may be very important to us. As we navigate through our lives, they may color our decisions and choices. We can always stay inside the lines of what has always been done, and conform to whatever patterns and customs we choose. But we’re unique and despite any pressures around us, may choose anything we like. We have our own specific gifts to offer that no one else possesses, and by honoring who we are and what we want, can bring great light and blessing to the world.

It’s always easier to manage a group of people when everyone is doing the same things, but there is great richness that comes from encouraging different ideas. Variety brings refreshment and opens new doors that may not have been previously considered. We can do whatever we like, while allowing others to also make their own choices. There are always many roads to any destination, and by being open to something new, we will learn more about ourselves and the world around us.

Today remember you are entitled to have the life you want the most. You don’t need agreement or permission from anyone to make any choices you desire. The whole world is open to you and every road is possible. Decide what you want to do and where you want to go, and take the first step forward. Every blessing awaits, and every dream is possible. Be confident and sure. Nothing can keep you from success, and you will make it yours.
