Getting the Blessing

29 Oct

There are billions of people in the world and although we’ll never meet most of them, there are generally people around us most of the time. We build relationships with them of varying degrees, and when we’re close to them, what they do and say may have a big effect on us. If someone does something that really hurts us, destroys our trust, or in other ways breaks down our connection, we may suffer great pain and disappointment. They may refuse to acknowledge what they’ve done and instead expect us to simply let it go and move on. Unresolved conflict doesn’t just disappear because it’s inconvenient, and we may struggle to find the way forward. Carrying around past pain and suffering and holding onto serious disappointment will never help us move ahead, and may hold us down and keep us from achieving our goals. We may think forgiveness is out of the question, but sometimes the only way to set pain down and walk away is to forgive those who have hurt us and let it go. The gift of forgiveness is hard to give in situations where the transgressor is unrepentant, but the blessings aren’t for them. The blessings go to those who have forgiven them. People who hurt others rarely feel bad about what they’re doing, but those they hurt may suffer indefinitely until they decide to forgive. Forgiving doesn’t mean we must forget what’s happened. We can remember everything clearly and take what we learn from the experience forward with us. Anger and resentment take a lot of energy to sustain, and after we forgive someone, we can release any ill feelings, sustain every valuable bit of information, and walk away with confidence. Nobody is perfect and we all falter at some point. Learning to release any negative experience, forgive those involved, and take the lessons forward, will enable us to find great success and happiness moving forward.

Few things hurt more than a broken heart. It’s painful when a relationship we desire suddenly ends, but it’s worse if it ends because of lying or cheating. It’s hard to look past the pain of betrayal and find relief. We may be shocked when we get all the facts, and decide we’ll never, no matter what, ever forgive them. We can hold onto the pain for as long as we like, but every day we give up to spite or suffering is lost and cannot be restored. Our lives are important, and we have a lot to offer. We can look at the situation clearly and objectively, let go of the sorrow, move forward and start again.

If we’re enmeshed in a difficult situation fraught with despair and grief, we may be overwhelmed and unable to see anything but the pain we’re enduring. Some things are very hard to navigate, but no matter where we are or what’s happening, there will always be a way ahead. The sun will rise again in the morning, and there will be a light to guide us through. Nothing is too hard for us to face, or too challenging for us to resolve. We are powerful and strong, and will prevail.

Today if you’re suffering because of something someone has done, think about what’s most important. Let go of any anger, and trust yourself. You are amazing and worth more than you know. The whole world is enriched because you are here. Take a deep breath, look at all the options possible, and start again. Every success awaits, and you will make them yours.

There are many diversions, distractions and unforeseen developments that occur constantly throughout our lives. There will always be many possibilities for every road we take. Some will benefit us and give us assets to carry forward, and others will simply get us to the goal as quickly as possible. If all we see is the prize, we may make a decision that gets us to the destination fast, and ignore the costs to our honesty and integrity. We are in control of our lives and can do anything we like. We can decide to bend the rules or cheat in an effort to reach a goal more quickly. If we’re exhausted and overwhelmed, choosing to cheat, just this once, may seem like a viable option. Stepping away from what we know is right just once doesn’t seem like a big deal. We may justify the decision because we believe we’re mostly honest and if nobody knows what we’ve done, nobody will get hurt. The slide from integrity to shame is often easy and paved. If all we see is the goal we desire, we may do anything to reach it. Even if nobody else knows what we’ve done, the sting of our dishonesty will remain with us. There is no way to change the past, and once we do something, it’s done forever. Stepping away from honesty can make some things a lot easier, and once we’ve broken the seal of our integrity, it’s not difficult to do it again. “Just this once” may become our standard practice, and we may lose our self-respect. We are valuable and important, and what we do matters. By choosing the better part and deciding to be the best we can be, we will find great reward and satisfaction. There is greatness in us all. By honoring our personal worth, we can make excellent decisions, and reach every goal with determination and valor.

We share the world with lots of other people. It may be important to us that they see us as honest and wise. What we do when others are watching does affect our lives, but who we really are is expressed by what we do when nobody is around. Will we keep the extra change because the clerk didn’t notice? Will we break the speed limit when no cops are around? Will we look at the test answers when the proctor steps away? Our personal integrity is our responsibility. When we choose the best path forward, no matter what we’re doing, we will gain greater strength and wisdom, and find amazing success.

Every decision we make defines who we are. If we don’t care about our integrity, and choose whatever will get the job done fast, we relinquish the growth possible by working through difficult challenges and finding the best answers. There is no substitution for excellence. When we strive for it and push ourselves to do the best we can possibly do, we will reap great rewards and gain a greater understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

Today if you’ve been making questionable choices in an effort to get done fast, think about who you most want to be. There is greatness in you, and you are more capable and powerful than you imagine. Choose to be excellent and take the best roads forward. You have so much to offer, and can bring great light to the world. Be noble and wise. Every success is possible, and by choosing well, you will make them all yours.

Reset

Life is full of change and nothing stays the same forever. We are constantly adjusting and modifying everything we do to fit what is happening around us and what we want to accomplish. Our personalities are unique to us and we all have attributes we like and other things not so much. We may have a behavior that stumps us up every time we display it, but have ignored it and worked through whatever headaches it brings. Maybe it’s a quick temper that gets us into trouble, or a lack of self control that brings disappointment. There are unlimited expressions and we can do anything we like. If we continue to repeat behaviors that don’t work for us, we’ll continue to face the consequences they bring. Change is always possible, but it isn’t always easy. If we’ve been doing something the same way for a long time, changing course will take focus and effort. We are entitled to complete happiness and can let go of anything that stands in the way. Once we decide what we want to change, we can be on the alert for triggers that cause it to rise. Patterns can be deeply ingrained, and we may fall prey to failure at the beginning. But if we stick to it, and persist in pushing forward, we will be able to reset our response and change to something that serves us better. Everything is possible and with patience and determination, there isn’t anything we can’t do. We can be confident and trust ourselves to make any changes we desire that will lead us to success. We are strong and powerful, and nothing is out of reach.

Families and traditions are very powerful. If something has always been done a certain way for a long time, our families may expect us to continue doing them and keeping to the tradition. There may be intense pressure to conform to something we don’t want. Following an undesired road will never take us where we most want to go. We can honor our families and be respectful, and still choose another path. Our lives belong to us, and we are responsible for our own happiness. Every dream is there for us and with clarity we can make them ours.

Relationships are important to us and when they are strong and healthy, bring great blessing and reward to our lives. If we’re in a relationship where we’re pressed to conform to behaviors we don’t want, it may be hard to stand up for ourselves. Everyone has their own opinions about how life should go, but nobody knows us better than we know ourselves. We know what we want and where we want to go. By being honest and choosing our own way forward, we will find great satisfaction and happiness.

Today if there is something you want to change, decide how you want to proceed. You are amazing and capable, and can do anything you desire. Every destination is possible and nothing can hold you in place. Choose what you want the most, and step forward with clarity and confidence. Focus on the goal and trust yourself. Success is always there for you and you will reach it.

Volcano

26 Oct

Life is complicated and we never know what will happen next. Sometimes just as we’re sailing along and everything is fine, something happens and everything changes. We may be able to control ourselves and keep our cool when the rug is suddenly pulled out from under us, but there may be simmering distrust and resentment after the fact. If someone we rely on doesn’t come through as promised, or worse, leaves us hanging without notice, we may be able to continue on but the bad feelings from being abandoned may persist. Volcanos erupt when their chambers are full of magma and pressure builds beyond what they can contain. At the moment when it all becomes too much, the ash and lava that has been pressing against their cap will burst forth. When we face serious setbacks, and hold in how we really feel, never expressing our frustration, the weight of disappointment may build until there is a tipping point when we let loose, and completely blow our stack. It’s impossible to carry unresolved conflict forever, and eventually we’ll have to express what is holding us down. If we’ve carried resentment and anger for a long time, the moment of release may be intense and extreme. Like a volcano erupting, we might spew forth outrage without restraint. Although we may feel better after letting it all go, there may be collateral damage from our uncontrolled release. We are in control of our lives and instead of holding in our true feelings, can face them as things arise. We can talk about what’s bothering us and look for resolution before the situation spirals out of control. We have all the courage and wisdom we need to face anything we must, and can be confident in our ability to resolve conflict before it goes too far.

If there is someone we admire and want to impress, and they do something that is offensive, we may remain silent for fear of alienating them. We can ignore trouble as long as we like, but problems rarely solve themselves without effort. Looking the other way doesn’t change the facts, and hiding from the truth will never make it disappear. We are brave enough to speak up and address any difficult issue. By standing firm and clearly stating how we feel, we will be empowered and strengthened. We already have everything we need to move forward, and nothing can keep us from success.

We’re all entitled to make our own decisions and can choose anything we like. Our choices are unique to us. We may not agree with those around us, and we never have to stay in any situation that makes us uncomfortable. Instead of going along and trying to keep quiet, we can step away and change direction. By choosing what we want the most, we will find great satisfaction and happiness as we move forward.

Today if you’ve been holding in how you really feel, remember your voice is important. Speak up and let others know where you stand. Every destination you desire is possible, and you are strong enough and wise enough to reach them all. Stand strong and be confident. Success is always there for you, and you will make it yours.

Carrying the Mountain

22 Oct

Everyone wants an easy life. We may dream about simply lying on a beach in the sun with no worries, and just floating through our days in blissful peace. It’s a nice dream, but for most of us, it’s far from reality. Most of the time we have responsibilities to take care of, details to manage, problems to solve and endless unexpected twists that take our time and attention. Sure we can take a vacation, and those days away from regular life are refreshing and fun, but eventually we must return. Nobody gets a perfect life. We all face trouble from time to time, and if we are going through something overwhelming and extremely difficult, we may feel the heavy weight of trial and despair. The road up the mountain may be hard, and we might stumble and fall. If we’re inundated me might feel like we have to carry everything in order to get through, but that’s not necessary. We never have to carry the mountain to get over it. Climbing it is enough. There is no need to let the issue, whatever it is, completely overcome us. If the journey is too steep, we can stop and take a rest. If the road is too tangled, we can look for another way around. Every problem has a solution, and by taking things one piece at a time, sometimes one breath at a time, we’ll find every answer needed to reach success. Nothing is so convoluted and difficult that we can’t figure it out. There is no rush. We can take our time and manage things as they arise. We are smart and capable, and will find every answer we need. The road ahead is already there. With patience and clarity we will find it, and step ahead, sure of success.

Nobody knows our situation better than we do. We are the only ones with the insight and inspiration we need to move forward. Others may offer suggestions or simply tell us what we should do. Their opinions may help, but they are only opinions based on what they can see, which is rarely the whole story. We know the facts and how we want to proceed, and can trust ourselves to choose our next steps, confident we will prevail.

If we’re facing something completely foreign and have no idea what to do, we can reach out for help. Everyone’s experiences are different, and chances are someone near us will have information that will assist us in finding our way forward. If nobody has anything to offer, we can search for whatever facts we need to move us forward. All the answers will be there for us, and nothing can keep us from success. The destination is waiting, and we will reach it.

Today if you feel like you’re carrying a mountain of trouble, set it down. Look at everything objectively and choose your next step forward. This is not too difficult for you to manage. Trust yourself and be confident. You are amazing and powerful, and nothing can keep you from success.
