Full Stop

18 Mar

Life is filled with unexpected developments and unforeseen complications. We can’t read the future, and each day there’s a chance something will stop us in our tracks. Maybe it’ll be something personal, or maybe it’ll be something huge, like a world-wide virus that is beyond our control and prevents us from moving ahead. Things happen and sometimes they get in the way. We have complete control over our own lives and the decisions we make, but everything else is out of reach. People make choices that affect us, illness strikes, disasters come, and we may find ourselves standing still, unable to move. When we’re facing a full stop and there is no way to move, we can take the time we need to see everything clearly and decide what we want to do. If we can’t move, we can still use our time effectively. We can evaluate all the possible options and prepare ourselves for when things change, and we can begin again. Nothing ever stays the same indefinitely, and soon our situation will change and we’ll be able to start forward again. Life is uncertain, nothing is written in stone, and we never know where the road will take us. But with confidence and clarity, no matter what happens or what problems we must face, we can always find our way. We have all the patience and wisdom we need to manage whatever comes. We can trust ourselves to find the answers we need, and be ready when the door opens again.

It’s frustrating when we have a lot we want to do but because of circumstances cannot move forward. It’s hard to wait when we have a goal in mind and are eager to get to it, and it feels almost impossible to stand still when all we want to do is move. If we’ve evaluated all the possibilities before us and we still can’t progress, we can choose to do something else. If we have to remain in place, we can spend the time working on personal goals that don’t require us to move. Everything always changes, and soon we’ll be able to take control again. Until then, we can find satisfaction in doing what we can, and prepare for the future.

During times of stress and uncertainty, it’s hard to feel comfortable and safe. We don’t know what will happen next or where we’ll end up. But there is never any way to know those things, even when our lives are going well. No matter how bleak things look right now or how unsure we are, we can trust that everything will eventually settle and we’ll be able to stand strong again. No storm can last forever. The rain will stop, the skies will clear, and the sun will break through. We are resilient and capable, and nothing can stop us. We are more powerful than we imagine and in time, we will prevail.

Today if you’re unsure of the road ahead, and are worried you won’t find your way, trust yourself. You are stronger than you think you are and nothing can overcome you. Be confident and courageous. Every blessing is still there for you and with patience and determination you will reach every goal. Success is yours, and nothing will keep you from it.

Hear What I Say

10 Feb

We communicate constantly in many different ways. Although most of our communication is non-verbal, what we say counts a lot. Good communication skills can open many doors for us and when we’re open and state exactly what we want and how we feel, those around us will understand us more clearly. What we say not only communicates to those around us, but has a great impact on us as well. If we’re feeling awful and express that, our words may reinforce our feelings. Each time we tell others or ourselves out loud how badly we feel, we are listening. Our verbal expressions tell us again what’s going on. If we continually talk about how awful things are, or that we’ll never get through whatever is happening, we are teaching ourselves to believe it. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t talk about our feelings – we should – but we need to remember that each negative statement not only communicates how we feel to others, but tells us as well. We hear everything we say. Repetition secures our memory, and if what we’re learning is we’re unhappy, we won’t likely forget it. Nobody lives in nirvana and there will be times when our lives don’t go the way we want them to. Bad things will happen and we will struggle. As we’re navigating through a hard time, we can pay attention to the messages we give ourselves and remember how strong and capable we are. We can trust ourselves to overcome whatever we’re facing and find peace and happiness once again. If we say things that boost us up, the road will be easier. There isn’t anything we can’t handle. We can be confident and clear that no matter where the road goes, we will prevail.

How we phrase our concerns can have an impact on how they affect us. When we’re facing a difficult challenge, we can say we’ll never manage it and it’s impossible. Telling ourselves we can’t handle a situation may construct roadblocks ahead and keep us from finding solutions. It’s impossible to look for answers when we’re focused on failing. No matter how hard the issue is, we are smart enough to figure it out. Nothing is too difficult for us to manage, and we have all the tools we need to do anything.

Even when things are going wrong, we can have faith in our abilities and the future ahead. Terrible things may happen, we might fall down, and everything we thought was real may disintegrate. But we will still be here and nothing can hold us in place forever. The sky is never going to fall. Darkness will lift, and the sun will rise again. We are incredibly capable and nothing can keep us from success. We already have everything we need to do anything we desire. Every dream is possible and with determination and focus, we will make them ours.

Today if you’re facing a very hard challenge and feel overwhelmed, remember how many obstacles you’ve already conquered. Remind yourself that you are powerful and nothing is too hard for you to manage. Stand strong and step forward with confidence. You are amazing and can accomplish incredible things. Be confident and trust yourself. Nothing can hold you down, and you will succeed.

Waiting

16 Jan

Our lives are often busy and we sometimes have a lot to accomplish in a short period of time. When we’re pressed for time, we may find ourselves in a situation where we must wait for something. Waiting is a common fact of life, and if we’re impatient, may be hard to endure. Sometimes we have to wait in line, which isn’t too bad if those ahead of us are efficient and quick, but that’s rarely the case. Everyone has their own pace and sometimes there are delays. If we feel those in front of us are wasting our time, it can be maddening. Nobody wants to wait to get their tasks completed, and if we’re in a hurry, it may very difficult to stand still while the minutes tick by. We may not be able to do anything to move ahead physically, but we are always in control of our thoughts. We can get impatient and frustrated, and let our anger rise, or we can take a deep breath and try to think of something else. Accepting the situation, even if it’s not where we want to be, and taking a step back to relax and let our minds rest will help us until we’re ready to move. There will be time to accomplish our tasks and if not, it’s not the end of the world. We can modify our plans to accommodate any delays. Nothing is so important it’s worth losing our self-composure over. We are capable and wise, and no matter what’s in our way, will be able to reach success. Each moment is a blessing, and we can manage every step with confidence and control until we reach our destination.

We have lots of different kinds of relationships. We have families, friends, co-workers, lovers, acquaintances and others. Each has a level of attention and interaction needed for them to grow and strengthen. Being continually put on hold by someone we’re attached to may damage our connection. If they’re too busy to get to us, or we can never reach them, the bonds that hold us close will diminish. Over time, if nothing changes, chances are the relationship will fail. Valuable connections need attention, and time to build. We can manage our personal relationships so they are healthy and strong, and enjoy the benefits from building strong alliances and friendships.

When we’re trying to accomplish something that requires the help of others, it’s important that everyone acknowledge the importance of communication. When we talk to one another and share our perspective, whatever we’re doing is enhanced and our understanding increases. If we hold others back and make them wait because we aren’t comfortable or want to have control over the situation, progress will be stalled. Success often depends on everyone sharing and doing their part. We are wise and capable, and can be confident in everything we do. We are important to everything we’re involved in, and with patience and cooperation can reach any goal.

Today if you’re in a hurry and have to wait, instead of getting impatient and frustrated, take the time to think about your plans and modify what is needed to accommodate the delay. You are incredibly smart and will always know what to do. Be confident and calm. Every goal is possible, and you will succeed.

Not Yet

30 Dec

We have many experiences as we go through our lives. Mostly we manage whatever comes but we may face a situation that is extremely painful, and so invasive, it changes the way we see ourselves and the world around us. Terrible things can happen and we may suffer greatly as we push through a situation that leaves us bereft and shaken. Pain and suffering will happen, and if we’re devastated and heartbroken, we may feel lost and unable to move for a time. Those around us may try to help by telling us we’ll get over it, and we undoubtedly will eventually find a way to continue on. But how long that will take can’t be predicted and depends on a lot of factors. There is no way to rush grief. It takes as long as it takes. We can do things to try to heal more quickly, get counseling if we think that will help, or talk to those we trust for advice, and in the end, healing will come. While we’re suffering and in pain, it can be hard to believe we’ll ever feel whole again. Situations remind us how our lives were before things changed, and we may yearn and wish that somehow everything could go back to how it was. Of course, going back in time is never possible, no matter how much we desire it. There is no way to revise the past and life continues on. We can take the time we need to process everything that’s happened, and think about how we want to proceed. There is no rush to move forward. If standing still helps, we can wait, but our lives are important, and eventually we must find our way forward. Nothing is powerful enough to hold us in place indefinitely. We are stronger than anything we must face. We can trust ourselves to find the strength and wisdom we need to modify our lives in ways that bring us fulfillment, satisfaction and happiness. Every dream will always be there for us, and with patience and courage, we will reach them.

After a big unexpected upset, we may be stunned and unable to move. If our world has been shaken and what we thought was real turned out to be a mirage, it may take time for us to find our footing again. The whole world around us may change, but we are wise and powerful, and no matter what has happened, can find our way ahead. We can step back and look at everything openly and decide what we want to do. Our lives belong to us, and we have all the wisdom and intelligence we need to discern the way forward.

There are endless roads before us and we can go anywhere and do anything. Even if everything goes wrong, the world turns upside down, or the road ends before we reach our destination, we can find another way around. Every challenge and disappointment teach us something new, and give us additional strength to continue forward. We know what we want, and nothing can keep us from it.

Today if you’ve suffered a terrible setback, and feel unsure about what to do next, take the time you need to decide exactly what you want. Every destination is still there for you and nothing can keep you from success. Trust yourself and be confident. You can overcome anything, and you will prevail.

Troubled Waters

7 Oct

There are endless things that can go wrong every moment of every day. Complications may come, we might take a wrong turn, someone might do something that blocks us, the train might be late and we miss our appointment, or dozens of other scenarios. Some days it can seem like we’re in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle and nothing works. There is always trouble somewhere and eventually it will visit us. We may struggle to figure out what to do next and how to stay afloat as the waves crash overhead and we keep going under. Troubled waters will come but nothing stays the same forever. Life is constantly changing and as we tumble and twist trying to find our way, the answers will be there for us. We will untangle any mess or confusion, and the road ahead will open. We are strong and capable, and there isn’t anything we can’t comprehend and manage well. If we lose our footing, we’ll find it again. If we fall, we’ll climb back up. We are invincible and unbeatable. Nothing can hold us down indefinitely. Trials will come, mistakes will happen, and for a moment we may be caught up in confusion and disarray, but that is only temporary. We know what needs to be done, and where we want to go. Even in the midst of trouble, we can keep our focus. Our lives are a long journey, filled with experiences both good and bad. Learning as we go will give us the tools we need to move forward with confidence and reach any destinations we desire. We are powerful and wise, and nothing can keep us from our goals. Troubled waters are only a passage to the roads we most want to travel. Every dream is there for us. We will find them, and make them ours.

Nobody wants to suffer and we might wish for a life full of ease and happiness, where nothing ever goes wrong and we are always content and satisfied. That’s nice to think about but unfortunately, that isn’t how life works. There is a constant tug and pull as we push forward toward our goals. Sometimes things will go well, other times there will be complications and difficulty. There are always a lot of balls in the air, and some will inevitably fall, sometimes right on top of us. It doesn’t matter if things get complex and the road gets rough. We are strong and capable and can find our way through anything that lies ahead. Nothing can keep us from success and we will prevail.

When trouble arises, if we allow it to stop us from stepping forward, we will never achieve the goals we desire. It’s impossible to stand still and move ahead at the same time. We have everything we need to overcome any distress or adversity. If the road ahead is blocked and we cannot move forward, we can find another road. There are endless options possible and we can find our way to any goal we desire. Nothing is out of reach, and we can have the lives we want most.

Today if you’re in the midst of trouble and there are complications keeping you from advancing, step back and look at all the possibilities before you. There are endless roads to every destination and you will find the way forward. Nothing can keep you from success. You are wise and strong, and will find your way. Success is there for you, and you will win.

Taking Time

27 Jun

When we’ve been through a seriously painful event, we may suffer greatly. The death of a loved one, a terrible and difficult break-up of a relationship, or a personal and deep betrayal from someone we trusted, may bring us intense sorrow and serious anguish. It takes time to process painful and difficult changes and find a way to manage them. Pain and grief have their own timetables, and how long it takes us to adjust to our new reality is different for every person and every situation. It’s impossible to predict how long it will take until we feel settled again. Nobody wants to suffer for a long time but there are no rules for coping with grief and sadness. We must take things as they come and do our best to continue forward each day. We can always control what we do but we can’t always control how we feel. Recovery will take the time it takes, but no matter how hurt we are or how desperate things may seem, healing will come. Change is constant and nothing can stay the same forever, not even suffering. If we’ve been struggling for a long time, we may feel we should be further down the road, but we are changing a little every day and in time, no matter how long that takes, we can overcome anything. Life is filled with unexpected developments and if we’ve been surprised by a painful and disappointing experience, we can trust that no matter how difficult it is today, we will find our way through. We’re stronger than we think we are and nothing is powerful enough to overcome us. Every blessing is still there for us and we will find peace and happiness again.

Heartbreak comes in many forms. When we’ve been heartbroken, no matter what the circumstances are, we can find our way through in our own way and in our own time. There is no need to rush and we can take all the time necessary until we feel whole again. Nobody knows our deepest sorrows better than we do, and we can move forward one step at a time. Being patient and allowing time to find our footing again will enable us to heal and proceed again with confidence. Life is filled with all kinds of experiences, and no matter what we’re facing, we have everything we need to prevail.

Some people may try to push us forward in an effort to alleviate our suffering. They may make all kinds of suggestions or give us advice about how to let go and move forward. We can listen to whatever they offer, but we know what we need and can trust ourselves to find our next steps. Pain gives us patience, and we learn how resilient and strong we are as we navigate through it and continue forward. We are powerful and capable, and nothing can hold us down forever. We already have everything we need to prevail and find all the answers.

Today if you’ve been through a serious and painful event, and feel lost and frozen in place, give yourself time to think and rest. There’s no rush to get through. Stand still until you feel ready to move forward again. You are strong and wise, and nothing will overcome you. Trust yourself and take another step forward. Every dream is still there, every blessing is possible, and you will prevail.

Wearing the Coat

6 Jun

Everyone has their own defined ideas about life and how things should go, and we interpret everything we experience through our own personal filters. What looks a certain way to one person can seem entirely different to another. There is no definite right or wrong in the way we translate what’s happening around us and we each decide how we’ll incorporate the outside world into our own personal understanding. If we’re able to be objective, we often find it easier to process whatever is going on, even if it’s highly charged or difficult to manage. However, sometimes our emotions get in the way and we may not be able to see past how we feel to find the way forward. If we’re intensely affected by developments around us, we may feel overcome by our feelings and frozen in place. Like a heavy coat weighing us down, we may be so emotionally involved we can’t think straight. If we’re deeply hurt, feel betrayed or have suffered a big loss, we may feel paralyzed and unable to move. Difficult times and painful complications can burrow deep within us and before we can step forward and begin to dig out from under, we must find a way to navigate through the emotional storm we may be feeling. Deep sorrows and intense anguish take time to process, and we can take all the time we need. There is no need to rush to get back on our feet. We can stand still for a moment, look at the situation clearly, and begin to find our footing. Whatever is pressing before us will wait. We already possess everything we need to get through whatever comes. There is sufficient wisdom and courage within us to find our way forward. Life can be difficult and we may slip under water a little, but we have all the resources necessary to rise above and catch our breath. Nothing is powerful enough to hold us down indefinitely. Every road we need will appear and we will find the way forward.

There are things we may think we could never survive. However, we have all the strength and intelligence we need to overcome anything that may happen. Even if our whole world fell apart and everything we thought was true turned out to be a mirage, we would find our way through. Great sorrows may come, great disappointments may arise, and we may have to face our greatest fears. But no matter what happens we are powerful enough to find the road ahead.

When we’re overcome with emotion, the way forward may be cloudy and unclear. We can express all the sadness we need to, get it all out, and then open our eyes to the possibilities ahead. There will always be another day and another chance to find our way. There isn’t anything we can’t do and no matter how dreadful things may seem, nothing can keep us from finding happiness again.

Today if you’re suffering and are overcome with grief, trust yourself. This is just one moment. Your whole life is ahead and nothing can keep you from reaching happiness again. Every blessing will come and you will find the road you seek. Let the emotional coat fall away and take a deep breath. You are more powerful than you realize and success is just ahead. Take one step forward. Every blessing you desire is waiting.
