Green Always Wins

16 Mar

We experience many different things as we go through our lives. We may have wonderful periods where everything goes well, and nothing stands in our way. Every day we sail through whatever comes and get to our destinations without worry. But nothing stays the same forever, and times of trial will come. We may face terrible, disastrous events that turn our lives and make us question if we can survive. Life is uncertain and we never know what will happen next. Trying to be prepared is important but until the crisis comes, there is no way to know exactly what to prepare for. Trouble finds us all, and if we’re facing something extreme that is pushing us beyond what we think we can bear, we may think we will never get through, and this will be the end of us. But we are far stronger than we think we are, and no matter where we are or what’s happening, we can take one more step. The worst winter on record with the most destructive ice, deepest snow, and coldest temperatures must surrender to spring. The weather will warm, everything will defrost, and green will always win. No winter storm is more powerful than the dawn of springtime. The same is true in our lives. We may go through terrible, difficult, trying days and feel overwhelmed with grief and despair, but spring will come. We may be down, but there isn’t anything powerful enough to hold us down forever. The load will lift, the sun will shine, and we will find our way. By trusting ourselves and having faith in the future, we will conquer every challenge. There is greatness in all of us. We will be tested but we will not break. We are more powerful than we realize and already have everything needed to overcome anything we must. Every destination is still there for us, and with persistence and determination, we will reach every goal.

If we’ve been extraordinarily hurt by loss or death, or something that has taken us by surprise and turned our lives upside down, we may suffer greatly. We may try to move past the pain, but grief is a powerful emotion with its own timetable. It will take as long as it takes. While we’re struggling to get through, we may feel exhausted, and there may be moments of hopelessness. But nothing is permanent – not even the worst experiences of our lives. Things will change, we will get stronger and in time, find happiness again.

A long, painful journey may test our endurance and push us hard. We may experience things we do not dream we could overcome, but we will prevail. Trials will come and they will strengthen us, trouble will teach us, and we will reach the distant shore. We have all the courage, wisdom, and strength we need to get through anything that happens. Nothing can keep us from success, and we will reach every destination we desire.

Today if you’re in a very difficult situation and feel overwhelmed, trust yourself. You have already conquered many difficult days and you will prevail. Nothing is strong enough to keep you from success. Be confident, and step forward with courage and certainty. Every dream is still there for you, and you will make them yours.

Closing the Book

18 Feb

When we read a book, we open our minds to new ideas that increase our understanding of the world and those around us. We enjoy the learning and when we’re finished, can close the book, and put it on a shelf where it may remain. In our lives we’ll have millions of experiences. Some of the lessons will be fun and enjoyable, but others might bring sadness, and heartbreak. Each is important, and as we move forward, we can draw on all we’ve learned to help us as we move ahead. A new challenge may be similar to something we’ve already gone through, and like pulling a book back off the shelf, we can remember what happened and how we navigated it, looking for clues that will assist us now. That’s helpful when we prevailed before, but if what happened was left unresolved and painful, opening it back up may flood us with difficult emotions. We may be temporarily paralyzed as we recall everything that went wrong and how much it hurt. It may feel like we’ve been transported back in time and are going through it all over again. The past is gone, and we are in complete control of what we’re doing now. We can step back and objectively view what has happened and look at where we are. No memory can keep us in place. We are strong and can do anything we like. Every book has a lesson, and when we’re ready, we can close it, and move on. We’re in control of our lives and our future is ours to design. Life is filled with challenges, but nothing can keep us from anything we desire. Remembering how strong and capable we are, and trusting ourselves to prevail no matter what comes, enables us to step forward, confident we will succeed.

When we cut ourselves, our bodies respond immediately to heal the cut and create a scar. At first, scars are thick and tough, but over time they smooth out and flatten to blend in with the surrounding skin. It’s the same when an experience hurts us. In the beginning, we may put up barriers to prevent from being injured further, but as time passes, as we begin to trust we can let those walls come down a little. It’s good to protect ourselves, but if we want to build connections and create relationships, we must be willing to start again.

If we’ve suffered through a terrible experience that has hurt us deeply, we may decide to retreat and try to keep to ourselves. Avoiding relationships and isolating ourselves may make us feel safer but will not guarantee we’ll never be hurt again. Instead of hiding we can remember all the times we’ve overcome adversity in the past and trust ourselves to manage anything that happens. We are more powerful than we realize, and nothing can keep us from moving forward.

Today if you’re going through something that brings back a past disappointment, remember how strong and capable you are. Close the book on what has passed, and step forward with confidence. You are more wise and powerful than you imagine, and nothing can keep you from success. Trust yourself. The best is yet to come.

In Pieces

15 Jan

Everyone wants an easy life where things always go well, and all our dreams and desires come true. We may dream of a world where nobody suffers, and everyone lives in peace and harmony. It’s nice to think about situations like these, but the real world doesn’t work that way. There will be good times when everything goes well and our plans work out, but there will also be hard times when our lives are turned upside down and nothing works. If something happens that hurts us badly and we are devastated, we may feel torn in pieces, holding onto the way things were before everything went south, and trying to figure out what to do now that it’s all gone. It’s hard to grasp sudden and difficult changes immediately, and for a time we may feel stunned and completely confused about what’s going on and what to do. Lots of things can go wrong – we may lose our jobs, our lovers may leave us, we may get seriously ill, or a thousand other scenarios. Nobody wants to suffer but suffering may come, and when it does, we may face our worst fears as we try to navigate through. It may seem the pain is so deep and all encompassing, that we cannot survive. No matter how bad the situation is, nothing is powerful enough to hold us down indefinitely. We already have everything we need to get through anything that comes. The answers are there for us and we have all the intelligence and wisdom necessary to find them. We can stand firm even when the winds blow against us, and reach deep for the courage to continue. Feeling broken in pieces by pain and suffering isn’t easy, but we are more powerful than we think we are, and will prevail. Hard times may stop us for a moment, but we know what we want, and will find our way through. By looking at everything objectively, we will see the road ahead, and be sure of success. Nothing can keep us from any destination we desire. We will find our way and claim the prize.

There are few things more painful than a broken heart. When someone we love deeply turns away from us or hurts us beyond repair, we may feel completely fractured and sure we’ll never be whole again. Our hearts may feel torn and battered, and we may lose faith in ourselves and trust in the future. No matter how it happened, it hurts to lose love. We can take the time we need to grieve and cope with our new situation, and when we’re ready, can look ahead at all the options before us. There will always be a new road and every destination will be waiting for us.

Grief and pain have their own timetable. We can’t rush healing. It takes how long it takes. While we’re getting through, we can take care of ourselves and reach out to others for support. We can lean on the strength of those who care about us until we feel strong enough to stand alone again. Life is full of promise and possibilities. Every dream is possible, and with courage and focus, we can have the lives we desire most.

Today if you’ve been devastated and are in pain, remember how strong you are. Be still and take the time you need to heal. You are incredible and have so much to offer. We’re all blessed because you are here. Trust yourself and step ahead. Every dream is there for you, and you will succeed.

Tights and a Cape

8 May

Life is filled with challenges and opportunities that teach us new things and give us more information about the road ahead. Sometimes things roll along with little trouble, and other times it seems like everything that can go wrong is going wrong. Nobody gets a free pass on problems. They come to all of us, and when they do, we must find our way through them. We may wish for a life of ease where every day is like a holiday, but if we actually had lives like that, we would learn nothing about ourselves or the world around us. Thankfully, wishes aren’t reality, and we’re going to struggle from time to time. When we’re in the midst of trouble and feel overwhelmed, the answers we need will be there but they may not be obvious. Some answers require us to dig deep and search for them. During times like those it would be terrific if Superman was real, and could show up and just solve everything for us. Unfortunately, if we want tights and a cape to save us, we’ll have to provide them ourselves. We might have to search diligently, and ask for help to find our way through, but we are smart and perfectly capable of managing any issue that’s complicating our lives. Things will go wrong, we will stumble, our plans may disintegrate, and we might find ourselves somewhere we never wanted to go. But we are creative and wise, and there isn’t anything that can hold us down indefinitely. The answers will be there for us and with patience and determination, we will find them. We are capable of incredible success, and nothing is strong enough to keep us from it. Every problem can be solved, and we have everything we need to prevail.

When we’re struggling with something difficult, we may reach out to those around us for help and support. Everyone has different experiences and if we’re facing something new, chances are there will be someone who has already traveled that road, or who can point us in the right direction. If we’re very independent, we may choose to find the answers on our own. We can always do that, but it may take more time and effort than if we reach out for help. Asking for help doesn’t mean we’re weak or can’t do things on our own. We all have a different collection of skills. We can get advice from someone who knows the way forward until we gain our own expertise.

When we’re facing a hard challenge, there may be some who’ll tell us we’ll never prevail and we should just give up and forget it. We can take any advice we like, but we are stronger and more powerful than we think we are. There really isn’t anything we can’t manage. By confidently stepping forward even when we’re unsure, we can open the doors ahead and find our way to success. Life is full of opportunities and we have all the courage and wisdom we need to reach any destination we desire.

Today if you’re facing a difficult challenge and are unsure about how to proceed, trust yourself. You’ve already overcome many difficult problems and you have everything you need to solve any complication. You are intelligent and wise, and nothing is too hard for you to manage. Look forward and step ahead with confidence. Success is there, waiting for you to arrive, and you will reach it.

Check

10 Apr

Everyone wants an easy life where things go well and we can sail along. If we were all alone and there wasn’t anyone else to mess up our plans or make decisions that create problems, it might be possible. But even then, things would go wrong from time to time and we’d have to negotiate a new way forward. Life is filled with all kinds of opportunities for us to learn and grow, some of which we’d like to avoid. Things will get in our way, we’ll face unforeseen complications and we might hit a wall we can’t get over. We never really know what will happen next, but we are smarter and more powerful than we might think we are, and there will often be a way around whatever isn’t working. In the game of chess, when one opponent corners another they may place them in “check” meaning they are facing capture but there is still a way out. This is far different from “checkmate” where they are captured and there is no escape. In our lives we’ll likely face many situations where we feel we’re in checkmate, that we’ve been cornered and there is no way out. However, most of the time if we look carefully and take the time to see everything objectively, we’ll see another option. Of course, if we simply decide we’ve been overtaken, and throw our hands up in surrender, we’ll never know what we could have done. There will be few times in our lives when there will be no options available to us. Most of the time, if we’re careful and patient, we’ll see a way through whatever is happening. Being in “check” is uncomfortable, but it isn’t the end. We are wise and capable, and can find the answers we need. Every road is possible, and even if we get tangled up and turned around, we can find the way forward. We can be sure of success, and step ahead with confidence.

When we make plans for what we want to accomplish, we may feel sure everything will work out. But complications may come up and we get stuck. If all we can see is the one way we’ve already tried, and that didn’t work, we may feel the goal is unreachable. But there is never only one road to any destination. If the first one doesn’t work out, we can try another. If that fails as well, there will be an additional road to travel. By looking at every possibility before us, we can find the way forward and reach success.

There may be a time when we face a situation where we simply cannot achieve what we’re seeking. There may be factors out of our control that keep us from getting to the goal and we can’t move. We can’t control what others are doing or decisions being made that impact our progress. However, change is constant, and if we’re stuck, we can set the goal aside for a time until the situation improves. Nothing stays the same forever, and when things change, we can try again. We are capable and smart, and will find our way.

Today if you feel like you’ve been overcome and there is no way forward, look at all the options around you and see what’s possible. You are very intelligent and powerful, and will find the way forward. Be patient and persistent. Every destination is there for you. Nothing can keep you from your goals forever. Keep your eyes focused on the way ahead, and you will prevail.
