Blue Oranges

3 Sep

Our lives are ours to design and we have control over every decision we make. We are valuable and worthwhile, and can be confident in ourselves and the lives we’re living. However, there may be times we don’t feel we’re good enough or that we lack some attribute that would make us more beneficial and a greater asset. Nobody’s perfect and we all have personal traits we want to improve, but no matter what we want to change, we’re important and meaningful just the way we are now. We have gifts to offer the world nobody else possesses and each day brings an opportunity for us to show others who we are. There is no need to wish we were different or think we aren’t good enough. Oranges are a delicious fruit and are beautiful in their unique coloring and flavor. Nobody wishes oranges were blue. We don’t think they’re insignificant or meaningless because they are orange. They are perfect just as they are, and so are we. We can change anything we like, but as we’re pressing forward and working on making our lives better, we can be happy where we are. We have so much to offer and the whole world is blessed because we are here. Our lives are good and meaningful, and we can do anything we want. We can change anything we like, go anywhere we want to go, and create the lives we want the most. We are the only person exactly like us in all of creation, and our presence brings depth and flavor to the world around us. Nobody could ever take our place and we are more valuable than we realize. We can be confident and strong, trusting ourselves moving forward, knowing we are making a positive difference.

Change isn’t easy and sometimes takes a lot of time. As we’re working toward something we desire, we may be constantly reminded of how long it’s taking to turn the corner, and may feel overwhelmed and sure of failure. But while we’re pushing hard on trying to change, where we are is still working. We are able to do many things well, even in the midst of trial, and success is always in our future. We can be happy for what we currently have and grateful for every opportunity we enjoy.

There will always be another hill to climb and another challenge to conquer. No matter how far we’ve come down the road we want to travel, there will be endless miles ahead yet unexplored. We are always a work in progress. We learn as we go and with each step understand more about the world around us and our place in it. Our influence is great and with confidence and clarity, we can move forward toward any goal we desire and reach any destination before us. We are powerful and smart, and nothing is beyond our reach.

Today if you feel like you don’t count and aren’t valuable enough, remember blue oranges, and think again. Change is always possible but you are incredible and amazing, just as you are right now. We’re all blessed by your presence, and your influence reaches further than you can imagine. Be confident and trust yourself. You are the only one like you. You have so much to offer and bring light to those around you. Step forward and stand tall. You are amazing and we’re all glad you’re here.

Not Working

9 May

As we strive to achieve our goals, we may try many different methods and ideas until we’re able to push forward. Although we know where we want to go and what we want to do, the way to get there isn’t always clear. We may spend considerable time reviewing options and trying different things until we find one that works and moves us ahead. If we keep our minds open and look at ideas we never thought possible, it will be easier to get to an open road. However, if we’ve decided we already know the best way forward, we may refuse to consider any other suggestion. That might work out and we might find success. Everything may go exactly as planned, or we may get stalled and unable to move. If we’re determined to make our way work, we may keep pushing and pushing, and hoping that eventually we will prevail. There are endless roads to every destination, and if we stay on one that isn’t moving, we won’t reach the goal. Making the same wrong turn over and over won’t get us on the right path. It’s good to be confident in our decisions, but if they aren’t working out, we can modify them and try something else. Changing direction doesn’t mean we’ve failed. We gain more information as we move forward and sometimes what was clear at the beginning may become cloudy and obstructed. By remaining flexible and open to new ideas and suggestions, we can revise our plans when needed, and turn our course toward success. There isn’t anything we can’t do. We are smart enough and strong enough to find every road and every destination. If we keep our eyes open and listen carefully, we’ll find success.

Life is filled with uncertainty and sometimes things go awry because of circumstances of which we were unaware or that are out of our control. Our personal confidence will help us overcome complications and detours that may arise, and help us move forward. It’s good to have confidence and trust ourselves but it’s important to remember we can never know everything about every situation. Things may change, and continuing on the same road when it’s going nowhere will keep us from success. Being flexible and making adjustments to help us move forward will ensure we reach the goal.

Nothing is permanent in life. Everything is constantly changing and sometimes those changes get in the way of what we’re trying to do. Something blocking our path isn’t a sign that our goal cannot be achieved, but a signal to re-evaluate the way forward. It’s a good time to stop, look around at all the possibilities, and decide on the best direction moving ahead. We know what we want, and we are wise enough to find the way forward to get it.

Today if you’re sure the road you’re on is the best choice but you’re unable to advance and can’t move forward, re-evaluate your plans. Be open to every option possible and adjust your direction. You are intelligent and capable, and nothing is too difficult for you to manage. Revise your plans and move forward. You will find the way ahead, and reach success.

Shape Shifter

1 Oct

There are endless possible expressions we can adopt in our lives.  We’re exposed to all kinds of people doing all kinds of things all the time.  It’s like shopping in a huge, diverse shopping mall with unlimited variations to every situation we could imagine.  There are many types of behaviors and interpretations, and when we come across something we like we can make it our own.  We can create any type of life we desire, fit into a group we admire, adjust our appearance to look like those we want to emulate and make any other changes we want at any time.  It’s possible to project any image we like even if it doesn’t represent ourselves accurately.  Modifying to fit in or go along so we can get something we desire is always an option.  We can live any way we choose and pretending to be something we’re not may get us where we want to go at first but being authentic about who we are is the only option that will bring us lasting happiness.  Shapeshifting to match those around us will only make us more like others.  It will never clarify our most personal desires or help us find our unique way forward.  We aren’t like anyone else in the world and are the only ones who can share our personal expressions and gifts.  If we choose to set our individuality aside in an effort to blend in, the world will never know all the blessings we might bring.  Our individual worth is priceless and everything we do brings something new to the world.  We don’t have to change who we are to find success.  We are valuable as we are and can be confident, even if we’re different, that our input and interactions will bring benefit and joy to those around us.

It’s often easier to get along as a group if everyone is the same but if we’re all exactly the same there will be nothing new to learn.  There are unlimited expressions and interpretations possible and being willing to explore them, listen to them, and embrace them will bring great depth and understanding to our lives.  The world is filled with differences and each person has something important to offer.  We don’t have to be the same as everyone else to be valued.  We can be ourselves and trust that we are not only good enough, but excellent and an important part of the world around us.

When we want to do things differently than those around us, we may keep our opinions to ourselves in an effort to prevent disharmony.  We can hold our cards close to the chest for as long as we like but eventually our differences will show.  When they do, if we’re challenged, we may confidently express our viewpoints and move forward even if we’re in opposition.  Our lives are ours to design and we may live them any way we choose.  We never need to become someone we aren’t and are entitled to our individuality and independence.  Variety brings refreshment and wonderment, and we can be exactly who we are and move forward with confidence.

Today if you’ve been shapeshifting in an effort to blend in, remember your personal uniqueness brings great value to those around you.  Be confident and be yourself.  Show us who you really are and share your unique individuality.  The gifts you bring are yours alone to give and the world is blessed because you are here.

The Ringer

5 Jun

When we’re determined to achieve something, we may plan our steps and work hard to move forward until we accomplish the task. Some things come easily and take little preparation, but other times we may spend hours in planning and work very hard to make sure everything is done completely. When we reach the end of the journey and things go well we may feel great satisfaction knowing we did our best and everything worked out. It’s great to accomplish the things we really desire but sometimes even when we’ve planned for every possible eventuality or complication, just when we think we’re going to win, a ringer is thrown into the mix. Maybe a new person enters the picture who takes control and completely changes the way forward. Or something unexpected happens that prevents us from proceeding. Nobody can read the future and there is no way to know what will happen ahead of time. In an instant all our planning may go up in smoke and we may be left stunned, confused and trying to figure out what just happened. It’s hard to readjust our plans when there’s a sudden roadblock and it’s frustrating when we can’t make the way ahead clear again. But we are flexible and capable of managing change and after we get over the initial shock, will find our way through. There really isn’t anything powerful enough to hold us in place. We can push through any obstacle and continue forward even if the way forward is nowhere near where we thought we were headed. Life is unpredictable but with patience and determination no matter what comes, we will find success.

There are all kinds of people around us who don’t always tell us all their plans. They may impact our progress for any reason they choose. If they have authority over us and decide to change our focus we may have no option but to go along with their decisions. If we believe we are on the best road going forward, it may be hard to let someone else take over. If we must step aside, we can be positive and accept that plans change all the time. A change in direction is only that. We can be patient and still find success.

The only thing we can really count on in life is that whatever we’re going through now will change. It’s nice when things are predictable and we know what to expect but those instances are rare. There are always a lot of variables in every situation, most of which we cannot control. Change is constant and the road ahead may change, our direction may be altered and we may get lost a time or two. With determination and focus we can redirect the way forward and find our way to any goal we desire.

Today if you’ve been working hard on something and suddenly there’s been an unexpected change that has stopped you in your tracks, don’t worry. No matter what road you’re on you’ll find the way forward. You are intelligent and capable and have everything you need to go anywhere you choose. Look at all the options possible and choose the best way forward. The whole world is there for you. Nothing is out of reach and you can achieve anything you desire.

Opting Out

21 May

There are a lot of people continually coming in and out of our lives.  Every individual brings with them specific ideas that may influence us in diverse ways.  If they are powerful and we admire them, that influence may be strong and far reaching.  Simple comments said in passing may make us see our situation in new ways and we may decide to change.  In our close relationships, the views and opinions of those we love are powerful.  If they feel strongly about something we may go along with them even if we aren’t sure it’s what we should be doing.  We may get into a situation where someone we love asks us to do something that is important to them, but that we are uncomfortable doing.  Our values and personal ideals are important.  We can always go along with anything in order to get along but each decision we make reflects who we are.  If we do things that are not in keeping with the standards we’ve set, no matter what our reasons are, we cannot be authentic and true to ourselves.  People will not trust us if we continually change with each new opinion that comes along.  We never have to do anything that isn’t in keeping with the standards we’ve set for our lives.  If someone asks us to do something that compromises us, we may opt out.  We can be gracious and kind, and still choose what is best for us.  We know who we are and where we want to go.  We decide what is important and how we want to live our lives.  There are countless ideas about life, and we may choose what works for us.  Holding fast to our personal choices will give us confidence.   Our lives belong to us and through our excellent decisions we can become the people we most want to be.

It’s important to be flexible and adapt to different situations as they come along.  Being able to change does not mean we must abandon who we are.  We can move in a new direction and still hold fast to the ideals we value.  There will always be lots of choices that take us from the paths we want to travel but with determination and focus we can make the best decisions and move forward with confidence while keeping true to what we want most.

Times change and what was considered appropriate and valuable in the past may no longer apply.  We may be in situations when we’re pressured to do something that is acceptable to others but uncomfortable for us.  We set our own personal standards and the ideas of those around us may differ from what we want in our lives.  We never have to conform to anything that goes against the values we’ve set.  We can go our own way and make our own choices.  Life is a great blessing and when we live it in ways that embellish who we really are we find true happiness.

Today if you’re in a situation that compromises the standards you’ve set for yourself, you may opt out and go a different way.  You know who you are and what you want.  You can choose the roads that reflect your personal standards and express your individuality with grace and confidence.  Every choice is yours to make.  Choose the way that takes you to your best self and you will find true happiness.

Auto Pilot

30 Aug

Often our lives are very busy and we have lots of things to get done.  We might have a list of tasks to accomplish or be in situations where there are constant developments that need our attention.  When we’re working hard moving forward and accomplishing things we may step into a sort of auto pilot role.  We may finish one thing and then immediately begin the next without much thought.  If we aren’t paying attention to what’s going on we may make mistakes and take turns that bring complications and problems.  We can’t go back in time and if we create an issue that complicates our way forward we will have to solve it before we can continue.  The time spent correcting our course and cleaning up a mess cannot be recaptured.  Auto pilot is great when there are parameters set up to allow things to go well but in our lives if we don’t pay attention we may falter and stumble.  Even when we’re busy and pressed to accomplish much we can step back for a moment to ensure we plan our next steps effectively.  The old saying that “haste makes waste” can apply.  We don’t have to hurry to be successful.  We can be wise and careful, and still accomplish everything we set out to do.

Some people are great planners.  They may have several calendars to post their projects and tasks on, electronic reminders to alert them when something is due, or composed daily schedules that allocate time for each endeavor.  Planning is great and is a useful tool but planning is just a way to organize our tasks and doesn’t allow for unforeseen complications.  Nothing is set in stone and often things happen that impact even the best designed plans.  When complications arise, as they inevitably will, we can adapt to the changes and modify our course going forward to complete the task.  Change is constant and being willing to adjust our trajectory will allow us to address our needs and find success.

Life is unpredictable and sometimes something we want to accomplish isn’t possible now.  Perhaps the timing is wrong, or others who need to be involved are otherwise occupied, or we don’t have all the information to proceed.  There are few times in life when we are subject to unchangeable deadlines.  If we need to set something aside for now, we can.  It doesn’t mean we’ll never get it done, it just means we plan to accomplish it at a later time.  Being willing to adjust our timeframes and continue forward will help us complete all the tasks we desire and continue forward with success.  We can be flexible and change our parameters whenever we need to.  Things will change and the opportunity to complete every task will arise.  When it does we’ll be ready and able to move forward.

Today if you’ve got a lot to accomplish and you’re rushing from one item to the next, take a moment to think about how you want to proceed.  You are capable of doing great things and accomplishing much.  Give yourself time to plan your next step forward and be confident and aware.  You can do anything and do it well.  Success is always there for you and you will gain it.

Bending

17 Jul

Patience is a beneficial virtue to acquire. If we learn to be patient, we can often understand things more easily, and prevent conflict by listening, and waiting for answers instead of pushing. Being patient is a gift to those we interact with. When we’re patient, others learn they can trust us to listen, and not jump to conclusions ahead of time. Although this is a valuable skill, is it possible to be too patient? Can we give too much? Can we wait too long?

When we’re in a relationship we value, and things aren’t going the way we want them to, we may discuss the issue with the other person, tell them why we aren’t happy, and ask for a change. If they are not ready, they may need time. If we’re patient, we may offer that time in order to preserve the relationship. Sometimes with communication and effort, things improve, and the problems work themselves out. But other times, despite our willingness to wait, things stay the same. Patience will not create change. It only allows time for change to happen. If the situation doesn’t improve after a time, we have to decide if we can wait a little longer, or if we need to move on.

It is possible to bend too far in trying to make something work. If we find the wait is beginning to affect our happiness, we need to rethink the situation. We offer patience to help situations improve, but if nothing changes all the patience in the world will not help. If we bend too far, and give too much, we may find ourselves in a very uncomfortable place.

Today if you’ve been patiently waiting for a situation to change and it’s not happening, re-evaluate your options. Determine how long you feel comfortable waiting, and when you get there if nothing has improved, move on. Patience is a noble attribute, and it’s good to exercise it. But don’t bend so far that you’re miserable. Sometimes even the best changes don’t come. Sometimes we have to let it go, and move on. Today think about that. The situation may be important, but you’re important too. Be patient, and be kind, but remember your happiness is valuable. Do what you need to ensure it.
