Counterfeiting

In this day of information overload, virtually everywhere we go we are bombarded with advertisements with pretty pictures telling us how we should live our lives, what we should do and how we should look. They are filled with scenes of happy people loving life, the suggestion being if we do what they say, we’ll be happy too. However, all those pictures are just actors playing a role. Doing what others think is best might bring us happiness, or it might not. We can play any role we like, pretend we’re something we aren’t, and dress up any situation to appear different than it really is. Counterfeit money looks real from a distance. By simply making Xerox copies of bills, we could fool anyone if they were far enough away. But upon closer inspection it will be obvious that the paper isn’t right, the ink is all wrong and it’s completely fake. If we haven’t yet achieved the level of success in our jobs we desire, or made all the money we think we deserve, or if we’re not as informed as we want others to believe, we may use counterfeit measures to convince them. We can dress up, act out, and manipulate others until we’re sure we’ve convinced them of whatever it is we want them to believe. We might fool them for a while, but just like getting a closer look at counterfeit bills, eventually our true selves will emerge and the truth will rise. It’s impossible to keep up false appearances forever. Instead of pretending, we can work to gain the attributes we desire. By living openly and honestly, we will gain the trust of those around us and make good, strong connections. Nobody is perfect and we all have things we want to change. We can show our true selves and be confident in who we are, and where we stand. Every success is possible, and with determination and focus, nothing can keep us from the goal.

Sometimes it can seem others have it easier than we do. They seem to get what they want and don’t struggle. We may think they have no idea how hard life can be, but we may be way off base. There is no way to know the personal dealings of anyone’s life unless they share the details with us. There may be hidden sorrow and disappointments we cannot see from the outside. Nobody gets a perfect life filled with rainbows and butterflies. We all face challenges and trials, and roads filled with rocks and detours. By keeping our eyes focused on our own journey and not comparing ourselves to others, we will ensure our success and reach every destination.

Many people prefer everyone to be on the same page, doing the same things, and agreeing as a group. Peer pressure is real and we may be asked to conform to something we don’t want. We can do anything we like, but we all have specific gifts to offer that nobody else can give. We can choose what works best for us and take our own path, no matter what others are doing. We have so much to offer, and by being true to who we really are, we can bring great light and blessing to the world.

Today if you’ve been pretending or following someone else’s path, remember you are important and have your own gifts to give. Be yourself and choose the road that takes you to the goals you desire most. There is greatness in you and you can set an amazing example for us all. Be strong and confident, and step forward focused on your own journey. Success is waiting and nothing can keep you from it.

Missing the Boat

There are endless opportunities in life. They come around constantly and if we see them and are in a position to take advantage of them, we can change our direction and aim for a new goal. The trick is looking for them and being ready when they show up. Our lives are often busy and we may have lots of details and responsibilities to attend to and accomplish. We may go here and there, concentrating on the next task on our list and never look up to see what’s around us. It happens. Life is all about change and our situations are constantly in flux. If we want a change and are hoping for something to happen that gives us the opening we need, but we aren’t paying attention, it may come and go and we never even notice. We may miss the boat doing other things. When we realize what’s happened, we might think our chance of success is over. We weren’t ready, we weren’t aware and now the opportunity has passed us by. But life has a way of looping around and missing one chance doesn’t mean the journey is over. There will be another boat. Another possibility will come, and when it does, we can be ready. There will never be only one way to success, or only one road available. We have endless chances to do whatever we desire, and every dream will always be there for us. Once we decide what we want, we can do what is needed to begin toward the goal. We are intelligent, wise and capable, and when we’re ready nothing is out of reach.

If we’ve put something off we’ve wanted for a long time, we may think it’s too late now to try. We might think we’re too old, our lives are settled into a pattern that would be too hard to change, or we aren’t sure we have what it takes or a million other reasons. We never have to do anything we don’t want to do, but if there is something we truly desire, if we’re willing to do what is necessary to make it ours – no matter where we are or what’s happening – we can succeed. It’s never too late to work toward our dreams and create the lives we want the most. We deserve complete happiness and have everything we need to achieve it.

Every culture and society has its norms. There may be pressure for us to stay where we are and continue doing the same things because that’s the way it’s been done over time. Traditions are powerful, but we are in control of our lives. We don’t have to continue on the same roads with everyone else or follow along just to keep the peace. We can design our lives any way we like and achieve any goal we desire. By trusting ourselves and stepping forward with confidence and clarity, we can do anything and find great satisfaction.

Today if you’ve missed the chance to do something you desire, do not despair. Nothing stays the same forever and the doors will open for you. Every success is possible and you are capable of accomplishing anything. Keep your eyes on the goal and step forward, sure and confident. There isn’t anything you can’t do, and you can make your dreams come true.

Absolutely Impossible

As we go through our lives, we’ll face many unexpected, challenging, difficult and surprising moments. There may be situations that confound us, twist the road ahead, and complicate things in ways we never imagined. Because we don’t live isolated, alone and by ourselves, others will come and go throughout our lives, and the choices they make and the things they do may impact us in many ways. There may be a situation that arises when the best option forward is something we don’t believe we can do. The solution to the problem is so difficult, and so hard to think about, it may seem absolutely impossible to accomplish. Maybe we must stand up to someone very powerful and influential, maybe we must withdraw from an intense connection or relationship, or a million other possible scenarios. When we’re facing our most dreaded nightmare, and the only way to get through is to push ourselves far beyond what we believe we can manage, we may shrink and stammer, unsure we can survive. The situation may be dire and we may be sorely tested and intimidated, but there isn’t anything we can’t do if we’re determined to proceed. We are more powerful than we think we are and far stronger than we imagine. There is greatness in us, and all the courage we need is already there within. Even if we’re not confident yet, we can trust ourselves to do what is necessary. We are capable of accomplishing anything we must, and nothing can hold us down when we’re ready to move. By standing firm and looking ahead, keeping our eyes focused on the goal and holding fast to our convictions, we will find the right road forward and reach success.

Some people are very strong and very loud. They know what they want and will not tolerate opposing ideas. If we don’t agree and must come up against them, they may question our intelligence, insult us, and try everything possible to demean us and shake our confidence in an effort to make us comply. They can do and say anything they like. We are entitled to our own viewpoints and can proceed according to our own desires and decisions. We never need anyone else’s approval or permission to make any choice we desire. Being loud doesn’t mean we must follow along. It’s just noise, and we have everything we need to continue forward our own way.

There may come a situation that is so hard and difficult we may believe there is no way we can face it. It’s just too much. We don’t want to look at it, we don’t want to think about it, and we might try to simply ignore it. Looking away from problems may bring us respite for a time, and we can always step away to think and rest when we need to. But our lives are our responsibility and by courageously addressing whatever has happened, we will find the answers we need to resolve any issue. We will never be so overcome we cannot survive. The roads we need are there and with patience and clarity, we’ll get through.

Today if you’re in a situation that is extremely difficult and you aren’t sure you have what you need to prevail, trust yourself. You have already resolved many hard issues and many complex problems. Take things one step at a time and be confident. You are amazing and can do anything. Step forward and show us your best. Every blessing and success is waiting and you will reach them all.

Cards We Get

Life is unpredictable and nobody knows what will happen today or tomorrow or next week or ever. We may be humming along and everything is going fine when suddenly something changes and we have an entirely new set of problems and issues we have to face. We only have control over our own decisions, and there are things happening all around us all the time we don’t know about and have no control over. We get what we get. It’s like playing cards. We may know the rules of the game and even be very good at playing it, but we have no control over the cards we get. We might luck out and get four aces, or we might get a jumble of cards that have nothing to do with one another that take us nowhere. There’s no way to know anything before we get them and how we manage the situation determines what happens next. If everything is useless, we can fold, and walk away from the game. Or we can play along and try to move ahead despite our misfortune. If we’re facing a turbulent, difficult, trying issue and we feel overwhelmed, we can always just sit down and refuse to do anything, hoping we can just wait it out until it goes away. That might work but if we don’t find the answers to our problems they will never stay away forever. Unresolved issues always return until we take them apart and fix them. Hiding from conflict just delays the inevitable. No matter what’s happening or how confusing and convoluted the problem, we have what we need to find our way forward. The answers are always there for us and with patience and determination we will find them. Success is always possible, and nothing is powerful enough to hold us down. We are strong and wise, and will find the way forward.

Nobody gets a charmed life where all the streets are paved in gold and every day is sunny and bright. Life is filled with challenges and trials, and every time we unravel and solve one, we gain more information and new skills to take forward with us. If we’ve been struggling with one thing after another, we may tire and feel we can’t succeed. We can always step back, stand still and take the time we need to rest and look again at all the options possible. There will never be a tangle we can’t unravel or a problem we cannot solve. We are intelligent and capable, and we will prevail.

If we’re on a road trip and there are many obstacles and detours on the road ahead, we can look at a map and find another way around. There will never be only one road forward or one answer to any complication or problem. Other possibilities will be available and we can always re-route the way forward and change direction. Every destination is there for us and with determination, focus and clarity, we will find the best way forward and reach success. We can do anything we desire and every dream is possible.

Today if you’re facing a complicated and difficult issue and don’t know how to proceed, look at everything objectively. Nothing can hold you in place indefinitely. Trust yourself. There is a way forward and you will find it. You are more powerful and stronger than you imagine, and there isn’t anything you can’t do. Stand strong and step forward. Every success is waiting and you will claim them all.

Acorns and Oak Trees

Most of us have seen acorns on the ground. If we live in areas where there are a lot of oak trees, in autumn they may be everywhere. After they fall we may rake big piles of them, but the ones we miss may get buried in the ground and become oak trees. An oak tree can grow to be enormous, and its wood is strong and durable. When we look at a full grown tree, it’s hard to imagine that a small, little acorn could have produced it simply by being buried and taking its time. There are endless things we can do in our lives, unlimited places we could go and many goals we may achieve. At the beginning, some things may seem too hard, too complex or too difficult for us to consider, but if we are determined, like the tiny acorn, we can do something big. Trees aren’t formed overnight. They grow one cell and one layer at a time. It’s the same for us. We can do anything if we take things in small bites and build as we go. There is no rush to reach success. We can take our time, look at everything objectively, and move ahead step by step. Life is constantly changing and with each development we can adjust our trajectory to stay on track and keep moving forward. When we want something badly, it’s hard to be patient, but not everything will come easily. By building one layer at a time, and keeping our eyes focused on the road ahead, every destination we desire is within reach. We are capable of accomplishing anything. We can be confident of success if we’re willing to do what is necessary to make it ours. Every dream is possible, and we can have the lives we want the most.

It would be so great if all we had to do to change our lives was make a wish. We could wake up in the morning ten pounds lighter, our jobs could magically become fulfilling and rewarding, and our bank accounts would be filled with cash. Yes, that would be amazing, but since nobody actually lives in fantasyland that isn’t going to happen. If we want something different we have to do something different. Change is always possible but will only come with effort. Nobody is going to show up and fix everything we don’t like. It’s up to us to design our lives the way we want them. Nothing is out of reach, and when we’re ready, we have what we need to make our dreams come true.

Some people don’t like change and want to keep everything exactly as it is. If we need their agreement to do something, and they refuse to budge, we may feel stuck. What we want may not be possible right now, but life is constantly changing and there are many roads and endless ways to reach any destination. If one avenue is blocked we can go around another way. If we must wait, we can work on something else that moves us forward. We are creative enough to find the answers we need that move us closer to the destinations we want the most.

Today if you want a change but it seems too hard to achieve, trust yourself. Remember the acorn, and take the first step forward. There isn’t anything you can’t do, and with patience and focus, every goal is possible. You are smarter and stronger than you think you are, and nothing is out of reach. Be confident and stand firm. Your dreams are possible, and you will achieve them all.
