Looking Over Your Shoulder

Life is complex and unpredictable. We will experience things we never imagined and face challenges that may try us and push us to our limits. We’ll also have some wonderful days filled with happiness and each event we experience will remain in our memories as we continue forward. Nobody gets a perfect life with all paved roads and unending success. Everyone will have hard times, and go through periods of distress, worry, and confusion. Although we always want to succeed at everything we do, it’s likely we’ll face failure at some point, and our lives may be upended. We may lose our jobs, forfeit our money, our lovers may leave us and countless other difficult things may happen. If we’ve been seriously hurt it may take significant time for us to heal and trust ourselves and our lives again. When we are ready to start over, the scars of what’s happened will remain and may continually prod us not to trust what lies ahead. Lots of things could happen but nobody can read the the future. We don’t know what will happen, who will enter our lives, or how things will work out. Things may have gone wrong in the past, but the past can never predict the future. However, if we continually look over our shoulder at where we were and obsess over everything that went awry, it will be nearly impossible to move forward. If our eyes are looking back, we will not be able to move ahead. There is much to be learned as we go through our lives, and although they hurt, the hardest times teach us the most. Instead of looking back and trying to dissect everything that went wrong, we can use the skills we’ve gained from what’s behind, and step forward armed with more information and greater confidence. Life is always moving ahead, and each day we get the chance to try again. We are stronger and wiser than we imagine, and nothing can hold us back when we’re ready to move. We can look forward with clarity and be sure of success.

We may go through something that’s so painful and encompassing that it stops us in our tracks and shakes us to our very core. We may be temporarily paralyzed and unable to move. Our minds may race trying to grasp what’s happened and we may feel completely overwhelmed and lost. Nobody wants to suffer, but this is real life, and bad stuff happens. Our world may be rocked and we may be dumbfounded for a moment, but we are intelligent and wise, and already possess everything we need to face anything that comes.

Our lives belong solely to us. We decide how we will proceed and what we will do. Situations may develop that take us off course, but the road will remain, waiting for us to return. Nothing can prevent us from moving toward any destinations we desire. If we must modify our plans, we can. If we must turn and go in another direction, we will find the way. We are powerful and highly capable, and we will succeed.

Today if you’ve been looking back and holding onto a painful memory, remember how important your life is. You have incredible gifts to offer, and the whole world in enriched because you are here. Turn your eyes to the road ahead, and stand strong. Nothing can keep you from your dreams. Be confident and step forward with clarity and resolve. You are amazing, and every blessing awaits.

Wide Open

We make millions of decisions as we go through our lives, and each choice brings a result and a change of some sort. We’re in control of every decision and can do anything we like, go anywhere we want, and set any goal we desire. If we’ve been in the same situation for a long time, we may forget there are endless options waiting we can choose at any time. If we don’t like where we are we can certainly move to someplace more appealing. But routines and repetitious patterns are powerful and we may reach a point where we believe we cannot move. If we’ve been in a dysfunctional relationship for a long time and want something more, we can step back and move on. If we’re in a job that isn’t meeting our desires, is unfulfilling and doesn’t give us the growth we want, we don’t have to remain. We may think we can’t change and that our future will only be a continuation of our present, but that will only happen if we choose it. There is now, and always will be, the possibility of doing something different. There are endless choices available every single moment. We are the only people on the whole planet powerful enough to hold us in place. Our futures are never determined by our past or our present. Everything is possible, wide open and waiting. We need only decide what we want to do. It’s easy to stay in place even if we’re not happy. We know the players and pretty much what will happen, and stepping out into something new can be intimidating. But our happiness is important and if we want something more or something different, we can have it. Our lives belong solely to us and we may design them any way we like. Nothing is out of reach and everything is possible.

Nobody is perfect and at some point, we may make a big mistake. We may make a mistake so big and far reaching, we believe it will change our lives and hold us down forever. If we make a wrong turn and upend our lives with turmoil and trouble, it will be difficult to navigate. But nothing lasts forever. No matter what’s happened or what we’ve done, everything will eventually settle again. There is no mistake bad enough to define our futures. Whatever has been broken can be amended. We have all the intelligence and wisdom necessary to understand what is needed to get through any situation that arises. Nothing is permanent but death, and if we’re still breathing, we can design the road ahead. By being courageous and trusting ourselves, we can correct our course, and start again.

There may be great expectations from family or associates about what we will do as we move forward. They may have plans and designs for our future that have nothing to do with what we want. Maybe there is a powerful tradition involved, or maybe there are family assumptions about following a certain path. We can do anything we like, but our future belongs to us. We never have to take any road we don’t want, no matter what others think. We have specific gifts to offer nobody else possesses, and be being true to who we are and what we want, we will bring great light and promise to the world.

Today if you think your future has been decided by what has already happened, think again. You are in control of your life and nothing can hold you down. Decide what you want the most and then take the first step toward it. Every possibility is there for you and nothing is too far or too difficult to reach. Trust yourself and be confident. You have so much to offer and will bring great light to us all. Move forward and be sure of success. It’s already there waiting and you will reach it.

Far Far Away

There are many things we want to accomplish as we go through our lives.  Once we decide what we want to do, we can make a plan and begin forward toward the goal. Some things come easily and take little effort.  Others need more, and some things we desire may require a big commitment in both time and energy.  The road to the destination may be very long and it may take serious discipline and focus to reach it.  Before we begin, we will need to carefully review what will be required, and then decide if we’re willing to commit to the goal.  When an objective is far, far away and success depends on constant attention and work, it will not be easy to attain.  After seeing everything that will be required, if our lives are too complicated now, we may choose to set everything aside until we are more settled and can focus on what will be needed.  When we’re ready to start, we can take the first step forward and start our journey.  Nothing is too far away or too difficult for us to overcome, but some things will try us and push us to our limits.  There may be unforeseen complications, problems we were unaware of at the beginning, and as we strive to move forward, it may at times feel like we’re going nowhere.  A big goal requires a big commitment.  If we are determined to succeed, nothing will keep us from reaching the prize.  We have more courage and stamina than we think we have, and can find all the answers we need to prevail. Our lives are ours to design.  We can do anything and go anywhere.  We need only decide what we want, and then continue forward until we reach success.

It’s easy to coast through life.  If we want to, we can take things as they come and just go with the flow.  We can follow along and simply go through the motions, and get by just fine.  But getting by isn’t the same as living on purpose.  There is no way to reach any personal goal by sitting around and waiting for it to fall into our laps. The whole world is there for us and we can do anything, but if we want something, we actually have to DO something to get it.  Everything is possible.  By taking time to decide what we really want, and then making a plan to get it, we can have the lives we dream about.  

Everyone has their own opinions and ideas about how they think life should go and what we should do.  Some may tell us we should be happy with what we have and not try to get anything more.  They may tell us we’re reaching too far, and there is no way to win.  Opinions are just ideas and have no bearing on any decision we make.  We know who we are and what we want, and nothing can keep us from our goals.  Everything is possible and we will succeed.

Today if there’s something you want to do but you’ve been unsure you can succeed, trust yourself.  Even the longest road has an end.  You are powerful and strong, and can accomplish anything you desire.  Decide what you want and take the first step forward.  Every success is possible, and you will reach them all.

Steadfast

There are opposites in everything – black and white, good and evil, right and wrong. Whatever opinions or beliefs we hold, someone, somewhere will have an opposing view. Endless ideas and interpretations are everywhere and if we haven’t decided which way we’re going, we may be pulled in countless directions. We can listen to all the views around us and when we’re ready, decide what is best and how we want to proceed. Everyone is different and we will undoubtedly face times when our views clash with those around us. If everyone else is singing one song and we’re on another page, we will likely face conflict. We’re all entitled to our own beliefs and decisions, but that doesn’t mean the power of the group won’t come into play. It’s far easier to get to the goals desired if everyone agrees. When there is dissent, it can make the road a lot rockier. In an effort to make things easier for those around us, we may be pressured to go along and asked to conform with something we disagree with. Of course, we can do anything we like and if we want to acquiesce we can, but our ideas are important and we are entitled to express them any way we like. We never have to follow anyone else if we want something different. We can be polite and still be steadfast in our decisions. Our lives are ours to design, and we may live them any way we choose. We don’t need agreement or permission to choose our own way forward. By trusting ourselves, and being confident, we can step ahead on the roads we desire most, and find great success.

Some people are very loud and forceful. They believe their ideas are best and may press us to do things their way. Being loud may open some doors, but certainly doesn’t equate to having power over us. We can do what we like, even if it’s different from everyone else. There are countless roads to every destination, and we can choose the ones we’ll travel. Our dreams are ours alone. We can take control, choose our own direction, and move toward any destination we desire.

Group think squashes creativity and removes individual responsibility. Nobody makes their own decisions, and nobody gets blamed when things go wrong. Nothing could be more damaging to personal growth. It’s good to have friends and build connections, but we can connect with others and keep our own autonomy. We are all unique and have special, individual gifts nobody else can offer. By honoring our personal differences, and stepping forward according to our own specific desires, we will bring great depth and blessing to the world around us.

Today if you’re being pressured to align yourself with others, remember your contribution is important. Trust yourself and follow your own road. You have so much to offer and bring gifts nobody else can give. Be steadfast and confident. You are amazing and powerful. Your light brings great joy and we’re all blessed because you are here.

Square Peg

Everyone is different and we all see things from our own perspectives. Our lives are shaped by the experiences we have and as we move forward, each experience colors the way we see things and how we want to proceed. There is no one perfect way to live life. We have endless opportunities to do anything we like, and can design our lives any way we choose. When we’re true to our own personal needs and desires, we can find great satisfaction and happiness. But there are lots of other people around us all the time, and if they have influence over us, we may be tempted to choose what they think is best instead of listening to our own inner voice. It’s certainly easier to let others plot our course and simply follow along, but sitting in the back seat will never put us in control of where we’re headed. Going along with someone else’s ideas about what we should be doing will only take us where they want us to go, which may be far from the destinations we desire most. Someone else’s destination is just that – someone else’s. It’s like trying to force a square peg into a round hole. It’s never going to fit. We know who we are and what we want, and nothing is powerful enough to keep us from the goals we want most. We don’t have to assimilate into what others are doing or conform to anyone’s ideas about our lives. We are in complete control of our own destinies. Every road is there for us and nothing is out of reach. By stepping forward and choosing our own journey, we will reach every destination with confidence and clarity. We can have the lives we desire most, and every dream is possible.

Some people are very confident and think they know how to live in the best ways. They may give us suggestions and direction for moving forward, telling us they know what we need. We can listen to any advice we get, but one thing is certain – nobody knows us better than we know ourselves. We already know what we want, and have all the wisdom and courage needed to achieve any goal we desire. Every destination is waiting for us, and we will reach them.

We may be pressured by family or friends to do things a certain way that works for them and makes their lives easier. It’s good to be helpful, but we don’t have to give up everything to get along. There isn’t anyone else like us in all of creation, and the paths we choose are specific and unique to our own personal desires. We can value our relationships and still hold onto our own identities. Being true to who we really are and moving toward the goals we want the most will bring us lasting happiness and fulfillment. We deserve every blessing, and with determination and focus, we can make them ours.

Today if you’ve been putting your own ideas on hold and going along with those around you, remember how incredible and unique you are. You bring great light and joy to the world, and every gift is there for you. Decide what you want the most, and step forward and claim it. Nothing can keep you from your dreams. They’re all there for you, and you will make them yours.
