Obstacles

16 Jun

Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.” Henry Ford

No matter what goals we’re striving for or what we’re seeking chances are it won’t just fall into our laps without some effort.  While it’s true some things come more easily than others, it’s also true that what we want most generally takes work.  There will always be complications and unforeseen problems and keeping our eyes on the goal helps us navigate them and move through them patiently and effectively.  But sometimes our vision is blocked and when we see all the things that may go wrong and everything we must overcome to get to the destination we may lose our confidence.  If all we can see are the problems blocking our way it’s impossible to see the road ahead.  If we lose our focus and can’t see the way forward we can take a break.  We can take the time we need to regroup and refocus.  We can recharge and when we’re ready to start again the road will still be there waiting.  We can accomplish anything we want to and if we keep our eyes on the destination, no matter how complicated things get or how many times we have to revise our plans, we will have all the wisdom and courage we need to continue on.  Every dream we seek is available to us.  Every goal can be reached and every destination conquered.  We can plan our way forward effectively and do what works best to achieve anything we desire.

Nobody knows what the future will bring and we may be surprised by something we never expected to stand in our way.  It may be hard to figure out how to navigate around complications.  All the answers we need are available to us but we have to keep our eyes open and be willing to look for them in order to find them.  If we are determined we will find everything we need to discover a way around any obstacle.  We know where we want to go and we can choose the best way forward.

It’s nice to think about things working out without any effort but thankfully that isn’t real life.  The struggle to make something work, and the effort it takes to make our wishes become reality teach us the lessons we need to find additional success going forward.  The challenges we overcome and the trials we navigate give us priceless tools that teach us how to find success.  The experience we gain as we push through difficult situations is valuable and worthwhile.  If we remember what we’re learning when things go wrong we will have more confidence to continue.  There isn’t anything we can’t accomplish if we keep our eyes on the goal and keep moving forward.

Today if you’ve been distracted by all the things in your way that are keeping you from moving forward, focus on the goal you want to achieve.  Complications are just indications that you need to adjust your path forward.  You can accomplish anything you desire.  Keep your eyes on the goal and take another step.  You’ll get there and all your dreams will come true.

Down the Road

15 Jun

As we’re making decisions and choosing our way forward we are sometimes influenced by other things going on in our lives. If we’re angry about something we may make a decision that reflects that anger and choose a path that takes us somewhere we really don’t want to go. If we’ve been hurt by a situation and new opportunities remind us of it we may turn away from them fearing we will get the same bad results. We make decisions based on where we are today and although there is sometimes no way to know where they will take us often we can see down the road far enough to where we’ll end up. However, if we’re distracted, angry, or frustrated and feel like it doesn’t matter we may make choices that have more to do with how we’re feeling than where we want to go. Every road has a destination. If we don’t want to go where it leads we must modify our way forward and turn toward what we want most. If we are deeply emotional about a decision we may not see clearly where it will take us. We are capable of making excellent choices and we can go anywhere we want. If we plan ahead before we begin it will be easier to navigate and find our way. There are always many things going on in our lives and around us. We can take the time we need to look ahead and chart a course that will take us where we want to go.

Sometimes we make choices with no regard to where they will take us. If we’re blinded by the moment we may storm ahead on a road that leads to trouble and complication. There may be an emotional connection that has us confused, or an attachment with someone who is lost and taking us along with them. Perhaps we become tangled in a relationship that holds us down and it’s difficult to let go and move forward. If we get lost on our way we can stop and re-direct the path ahead. We have all the wisdom we need to create successful, happy lives and if we trust ourselves we will find the road we’re seeking.

There is great power in our emotional attachments to others. If they direct us one way, we may follow trusting them to know what’s best for us. They may know some things about us but nobody will ever know us as well as we know ourselves. If someone says we need to do something but we aren’t sure, we may step back and look at the situation clearly and objectively. If their choice takes us where we want to go we may agree but if we want something different we may choose our own road. We are in control of our lives and can choose any path we desire. We can make sure the end of the road is the destination we are truly seeking.

Today if you’re headed somewhere you don’t want to go, stop and rethink your way forward. Look ahead and chart your course toward the destination you desire. There is no road too hard to find or too far for you to travel. You have everything you need to do anything you desire. Direct your life forward. Everything you want is waiting for you and you will have it.

Uncovering Truth

13 Jun

As we go through our lives we experience many things. We have bad experiences, good ones, difficult times, easy moments and a huge spectrum of emotions. We feel everything we go through and whatever we experience involves some sort of emotion. Some people are stoic and it’s hard to know what they are feeling and others wear everything out in the open for all to see. Whether we display them or not we will feel a broad range of emotions every day. They help us understand what we’re going through but we must be careful that our emotions don’t deceive us. Feelings can lie to us and make us believe things that aren’t true. They are often reflective of experiences we’ve had in the past and if we have unresolved fear, unsettled disappointment or uncertainty our emotions may bring it to the surface again. They may color our interpretation of what we’re going through now even though they have nothing to do with our current situation. When we feel unsure or afraid we can take a moment to think about what is triggering the emotion. Does it pertain to what’s happening now or is it just a memory resurfacing? We can uncover the truth and take control of our lives. Emotions are complex and deeply ingrained in who we are. We can manage them effectively by looking at them objectively and seeing them for what they are.

Our emotional memories are very strong. Someone may say something or we see something that reminds us of a difficult time and all the emotions we felt may come flooding back. We can’t control the response but we can control what we do when it happens. If we’re suddenly overwhelmed with sorrow or fear we can take a breath, let the flood wash over us and then objectively determine how we will go forward. We don’t have to crash and burn because a difficult memory has momentarily overtaken us. We can resettle ourselves and remember the past is behind us and need not control us going forward. Every day brings new opportunities for growth and learning, and we can let the past go and keep walking.

Everything we experience changes us in some way. We are all the sum total of our experiences and each experience teaches us something we can take with us going forward. Even our worst trial gives us some value that benefits us. When old emotions take us back to the struggle, we can find the lesson we learned to help us going forward. Feelings may lie to us and tell us we haven’t moved at all, but we can uncover the truth and continue forward with confidence. We are amazing, capable and strong. There isn’t anything we can’t do or overcome.

Today if you feel bad over something in the past and it’s affecting your ability to move forward, look at the situation clearly and see everything you’ve learned. You can take the best lessons forward with you and leave the rest behind. You have everything you need to find happiness and success, and nothing will hold you back. Take control and move forward. The best is there for you and you will be happy.

At the Feast

12 Jun

Life is complicated and sometimes we get into situations where it’s hard to see clearly.  We may face very difficult times and if we stay in them for a while we may begin to believe it is what we deserve and there is no way out.  Despite our efforts to see the situation as it is we may get so far off course we lose our perspective and forget how valuable we are.  There may even be some in our lives who want us to believe we are worthless and try to hold us back.  But we are important and worth more than we can imagine.  We don’t need to ever settle for crumbs and deserve to sit at the highest table of the feast.  We are valuable and even when we miss a step or take the wrong road it need not define us or our lives going forward.  There will always be another step to take and we can choose any direction we desire as we move ahead.  Trouble will come to all of us.  We will all face times of doubt and concern and there may be moments when we forget who we are.  But if we step back and look at all the times we’ve won and remember all the ways we’ve already been successful we will find the courage and wisdom to correct our course and find happiness again.  We deserve a place at the feast and we can make sure we take it.

There may be times we encounter people who are determined to make us fail, or situations that make success difficult.  We will all experience complications and problems and snags and difficulties.  It’s the nature of life.  Nobody lives in nirvana.  Even when we choose wisely and plan carefully there may be times when things go awry and we are left out in the cold wondering what happened and how everything went wrong.  There may be moments of serious doubt that we will ever succeed.  But everything always changes and no matter where we are now tomorrow will be different.  We have everything we need to endure any storm and find our way through.  We are strong enough, wise enough and capable enough to succeed.

It’s easy to be distracted when there are many influences all around us and there are always many influences all around us.  It takes focus and determination to get to the destinations we desire.  We certainly have everything we need to succeed and if we get lost we can find our way again.  Our choices are ours to make and no matter what is happening we may make them and direct our lives anywhere we choose.  Others may disagree but we need not alter our way forward unless we want to.  If we get tangled up we can find the way out again.  Nothing will stop us if we are determined and remember our personal worth.  There is nothing more precious than our lives.  We deserve every happiness and success, and we will achieve them when we remember how valuable we are.

Today if you’ve missed a step and gotten lost on your journey forward, and aren’t sure you deserve to win, remember who you are.  You are precious and valuable and deserve the very best of everything.  The feast is waiting for you and your seat is reserved.  Keep walking forward and everything you dream will come true.

Grounded

9 Jun

We can do a lot of things well and accomplish many goals throughout our lives.  When we have sufficient determination and time we can generally get to most desired destinations.  But sometimes we may try to accomplish something and no matter what we do can’t seem to move forward.  When we struggle and push and still can’t get ahead it’s very frustrating.  Life is complicated and we don’t always know everything when we begin a journey.  If we truly cannot achieve what we’ve set out to do right now it doesn’t mean we have failed.  We can look at the situation objectively, see what the problem is and then revise our plans.  We may need additional information or we may need to wait until we are in a different place in our lives.  Although it’s important to try our best to reach our goals, there is no value in trying over and over again to accomplish something that cannot be accomplished right now.  Recognizing limits is important.  If we simply cannot move forward no matter what we’ve tried the timing may be wrong or we may need to wait until our circumstances have changed.  If the destination is out of reach now we can set it aside and do other things and try again later.  All planes get grounded from time to time.  Once we see what is needed to move forward we may begin again.  We don’t have to stay grounded forever.  We have everything we need to be successful and continue forward.

We only have control over our personal decisions and what we do.  Sometimes when we’re trying to accomplish something and others are involved, their decisions may derail us and push us off track.  If we must have the agreement of others to move forward and that is not forthcoming we may be stopped in our tracks and unable to progress.  If we can’t bring them into agreement we may need to find a way around them to continue forward.  If that isn’t possible it may be necessary to set the goal aside until things change.  Life is fluid and ever changing and in time our circumstances will adjust and we’ll be able to start again.

Unpredictable complications are always a factor.  We can’t know what we don’t know and sometimes there is more to the story than we are aware when we start out.  Others may keep facts from us, things may develop that stop our progress or our lives may change in such a way that we can’t continue forward at this time.  When those things happen we can revise our plans to accommodate whatever has happened and decide how we want to proceed.  We can wait if we need to and do other things until our situation changes.  Life is long and a road that is blocked today may well be clear in the days ahead.  We can prepare for the future and be ready when the time is right to start again.

Today if you’ve been working hard on accomplishing something and no matter what you do can’t move forward, stop and look at the situation openly and completely.  Revise you plans if you need to and if the timing is wrong, set the goal aside and work on other things.  Be patient and continue forward.  Although you may have to wait, eventually everything you desire will come.
