Never Too Late

5 Apr

There may be times in our lives when there is something we really want or need to do but feel it’s too late.  Perhaps an opportunity presented itself to us when we were in a different place and because of circumstances at the time we ignored it but now want to pursue it.  Or maybe time has gone by and we realize we want to do something but because we are older or our circumstances aren’t ideal don’t think we can manage it.  Nothing is permanent and no decision is set in stone.  We can return and reroute our course at any time but we may believe the chance to do what we really want to do is lost and cannot be re-captured.  Every day brings something new and we move continually from one place to another but no matter where we are or what we’re doing it is never too late to make a change.  We can return and restart in a new direction and we can restore what has been lost.  Even if we think it’s hopeless, it isn’t.  Even if we’re sure we can’t succeed, we can.  Our lives belong to us and we can do anything we want to do at any time.  It’s never too late to turn our course.  We can make any adjustments needed to accommodate our present circumstances and move forward.  There isn’t anything we can’t do and no matter where we are or what has passed we will succeed.

Regret is a normal experience for most of us.  We can’t read the future and we must make the best decisions we can where we are.  When those decisions don’t work out and there are problems and complications that arise we must do our best to navigate and find our find through.  We learn as we go and the next time we’re in a similar position we’ll know more and be able see things more clearly.  When we have regrets we may believe it’s too late to fix what has happened.  Although we can’t go back in time, there are few things that cannot be changed.  We can address our concerns proactively and do what is needed to turn things around.

If we’ve made decisions that have damaged a valuable relationship and we want to restore what has been lost we may begin to reach out and reconnect.  It’s never too late to let others know how we feel and if we’ve made a mistake we can do what is needed to repair the situation.  Time is fluid and forgiving.  If we are committed to finding a way back to a personal connection we can start today to reach out.  Nothing is forever in life and we can change anything at any time.  All is never lost.  We may lose our way and get stuck in the mire from time to time, but we can find our way forward again.  There is nothing too difficult for us to overcome and we can restore anything we desire.

Today if you feel like it’s too late to take advantage of an opportunity you let pass by or restore a relationship you’ve lost, you can do what is needed to reach out and move forward.  There is nothing out of reach and you can do anything you want to do.  Never give up.  You have everything you need to succeed and find the treasure you’re seeking.  Reach out.  It’s still there waiting for you.

Leaning

28 Mar

There are times in everyone’s life when things go wrong. Mistakes may be made, wrong turns taken or something we have no control over arises and brings us hardship and heartache. If we are overcome by what’s happened and feel unable to move ahead we may lean on someone else for support and encouragement. It’s wonderful to have others near us who are willing to help us through difficult times when we need them. Leaning on someone else for a while gives us respite from the storm and holds us up while we figure out our next step. As we lean we can recharge and take a moment to think but while we’re leaning on someone else the balance we need to move forward is set aside. We are not standing solid and ready to walk. While the break is helpful, soon it will be important to stand up straight again and begin forward. We will need to compose our confidence, garner our courage and regain our stature so we can move ahead. Some trials are very difficult and it sometimes takes a little time before we feel ready to face them but face them we must if we want to progress. When we’re ready we may right ourselves and start forward. There isn’t any problem too difficult for us to navigate and even when we feel we may not survive we have everything we need to continue. Trusting in our ability to adjust and solve the problem and courageously step forward will move us through the trial to the other side. We are stronger than we think we are and completely capable of facing anything that comes to us. We can stand tall and walk forward with confidence and assurance.

When we’re facing a heavy problem, we may believe we can’t do it, we can’t face it and we can’t get through it. We may be convinced we don’t have what we need to manage and feel like giving up. We can always surrender to any problem that comes our way and try to escape it, and we may be successful for a time. But problems that are left unsolved have a way of returning and revisiting us until we settle them once and for all. Instead of ignoring them or giving up and facing them again in the future, it’s best to face them head on when they arrive and solve them.

Help is always available to us when we need it. If we are confused about what to do or how to proceed there are many people around us who have answers we haven’t yet found. If we ask they will help us find the way forward. Everyone’s experiences are different and a new experience for us may be something someone near us has already encountered who will have advice and counsel that will help. We can ask for help when we need it and listen to suggestions that will assist us. We don’t have to face everything alone. We can enlist the help of others and find success.

Today if you’re facing a big problem and you’re leaning on someone close for support, take the rest you need until you feel confident. Then, stand up straight and determine to solve the issue once and for all. If you need help, ask for it. You are smart enough and wise enough to solve any problem that comes to you. Trust yourself. You are an amazing person with incredible abilities. Let them shine and the answers will come.

Tip of the Iceberg

23 Mar

Icebergs are very deceptive things. They may be huge floating in the water but no matter how big they appear on the surface what’s hiding underneath is far larger. What we can see floating in the water, even if it’s enormous, is generally just a small fraction of the iceberg’s total size. The bulk of it is hidden and cannot be seen. Sometimes we face a problem in our lives that’s like that. It may appear to be somewhat simple on the outside and we may make decisions for solving it quickly only to discover there is a far bigger situation lurking beneath the surface. We might have a complication that seems easy to navigate and make a snap decision to settle it only to find there are deeper issues in play and we have much farther to travel if we want to solve the real problem. It’s not always easy to see everything the first time we look. Some issues only reveal themselves over time and if we think we know everything from the beginning we may get burned. Although we understand rushing may mean a mistake, sometimes if we’re in a hurry to move on we may ignore valuable clues that give us the whole story. We have enough wisdom to understand complex issues and enough patience to wait until we comprehend a situation completely before proceeding. If we take the time to see all the information before us, chances are we’ll have a better understanding of how big the iceberg is before we attempt to conquer it.

People are sometimes hard to understand. We may take others at face value and believe the image they are portraying about themselves is true. Sometimes we are right and who they seem to be is exactly who they are. But some people may fool us. They may present themselves in a specific way to get our attention or favor when in truth they are far different than they appear. It takes time to get to know those around us and we can be open and still be cautious before we jump into a relationship. Relationships can be complicated and when based on half the facts can be very difficult. Instead of rushing we can learn a little more and take a little time to get to know others before we get too close.

Problems may have many layers we can’t see at the beginning. Sometimes they look innocent and easy to solve but once we’re involved we may discover there are many issues that must be addressed. Even if they are complicated and difficult we have everything we need to figure them out. We can take the time necessary to consider our options and find the best way forward. If we are patient and look carefully we will see the situation clearly and be able to solve it, no matter what the problem is.

Today if you have an issue you thought was simple to solve that has turned into a huge iceberg, take your time and see all the facts before you. You can find the answers one at a time and resolve the problem. There is nothing too difficult for you and you will succeed. Be strong and have confidence. Step by step you’ll find the way forward and you will prevail.

Hard Times

15 Mar

“It’s supposed to be hard! If it wasn’t hard, everyone would do it. The hard… is what makes it great!”  Jimmy Dugan, A League of Their Own

We all want our lives to be easy and uncomplicated but hard times come to us all and when they do we may find ourselves in very difficult and complex situations.  If we want to move through them and put them behind us we must face them head on, deal with the circumstances before us, and do what it needed to find a resolution.  Only then can we step forward and leave the problem in the past.  If the issue we’re facing is far reaching and very difficult we may feel overwhelmed at the enormity of the problem.  We can handle anything that comes to us and we can solve any problem.  The harder the challenge is, the more we’ll learn.  As we flex our power and test our abilities we will become stronger and the strength we gain will make us great.  The old saying of “no pain no gain” is true when it comes to the trials of life.  We have everything we need to face any challenge before us.  And as we overcome each issue we gain tools and positive attributes to carry forward.  Every experience teaches us something of value.  Remembering all the good we’re gaining as we struggle will give us added confidence and courage.  There isn’t anything we can’t do.  We are stronger and more capable than we realize and we can face hard times and walk right through them.

Nobody is born perfectly brave and wise.  We must gain courage and wisdom as we live our lives.  Every decision we make brings us information and teaches us something new.  Every challenge we overcome gives us additional power and courage to go forward.  If everything came easily we would never have the opportunity to grow.  We cannot be successful adults if we have only the courage and strength of a child.  It’s important to grow and learn into adulthood and trouble is the best teacher.  Hard times mold us and give us experience that help us become successful and ultimately bring happiness.

Some people keep themselves apart from others and new experiences in an effort to shield themselves from problems.  We can try to keep a low profile and that may prevent some conflict from coming our way but problems will happen simply because we are here.  Instead of trying to hide from them it’s far wiser to face them and learn all we can from solving them.  The wisdom of age comes from the experiences of living a full life – trouble and all.  We have all the courage we need to face anything that comes to us and we’ll gain the strength we need going forward as we learn to solve hard times and difficult problems.  We are smart enough and wise enough to face anything and do it well.

Today if you’re facing a difficult issue and you aren’t sure you will manage, trust in your strength and ability.  There isn’t anything you can’t do and nothing you can’t face.  You are more capable then you know and you will prevail.  Be courageous.  You will win.

Waiting to Change

10 Mar

We all have things we do well.  We know what is easy for us and where we excel.  Sometimes there are things we need to change in order to move forward or to achieve something we really want.  If that includes something we don’t like or something we don’t know how to do we may hesitate.  Our behaviors and skills will never change on their own no matter how long we wait or how hard we wish.  If we want or need to change something in our lives we must actively engage in doing what is needed to bring it about.  That may mean venturing into areas we don’t know, or trying to do something that makes us uneasy.  We can change anything we want if we do what is needed, but nothing will change simply by waiting for it.  Our lives are ours to design any way we choose.  If we want to try something new or reach for something higher we may have to step into foreign territory.  But foreign things become familiar after we do them for a time and we can master any new behaviors we choose.  We can reach for the stars, go for our biggest dreams and become anything we decide we want to be.  We are capable of adapting and modifying ourselves at any time.  Change is always possible and we can make it happen if we are determined and continue toward it step by step.  There really isn’t anything we can’t accomplish if we want it badly enough.  We can step onto any path and find success.

It’s easy to sit and dream about what we want to do.  We can talk about it for years on end and hope our dreams will magically come true.  Thinking and talking will only take us so far and if we really want what we’ve been dreaming about we must take action.  Every accomplishment requires effort.  When we’re ready, we can look carefully at what we want to do and then make a plan to achieve it.  We may have to learn some new skills, we may have to step way out of our comfort zone, and it may take time to accomplish the goal, but if we really want it we can achieve it.  It’s great to have dreams but making them come true is what brings happiness.

Every road has a destination.  We know the roads we customarily travel and we know where they’ll take us.  If we stay on the same roads year after year we will only experience what they have to offer.  When we want something different we have to step away from the familiar and choose another path.  There is no way to reach a new destination by taking the same journey over and over again.  There is no limit to the things we can do or learn but change requires us to step away from the road we’re on to find it.  We have everything we need to find a new way forward.  We know what we want to do and where we want to go and we can make the choices needed to find success.

Today if you’ve decided you want to reach a goal and change your direction, take the first step on a new road.  You have everything you need to make any dream a reality.  Decide what you most want to do and then begin forward toward success.  There is nothing that will stop you and you will reach the goal.
