Hard Times

15 Mar

“It’s supposed to be hard! If it wasn’t hard, everyone would do it. The hard… is what makes it great!”  Jimmy Dugan, A League of Their Own

We all want our lives to be easy and uncomplicated but hard times come to us all and when they do we may find ourselves in very difficult and complex situations.  If we want to move through them and put them behind us we must face them head on, deal with the circumstances before us, and do what it needed to find a resolution.  Only then can we step forward and leave the problem in the past.  If the issue we’re facing is far reaching and very difficult we may feel overwhelmed at the enormity of the problem.  We can handle anything that comes to us and we can solve any problem.  The harder the challenge is, the more we’ll learn.  As we flex our power and test our abilities we will become stronger and the strength we gain will make us great.  The old saying of “no pain no gain” is true when it comes to the trials of life.  We have everything we need to face any challenge before us.  And as we overcome each issue we gain tools and positive attributes to carry forward.  Every experience teaches us something of value.  Remembering all the good we’re gaining as we struggle will give us added confidence and courage.  There isn’t anything we can’t do.  We are stronger and more capable than we realize and we can face hard times and walk right through them.

Nobody is born perfectly brave and wise.  We must gain courage and wisdom as we live our lives.  Every decision we make brings us information and teaches us something new.  Every challenge we overcome gives us additional power and courage to go forward.  If everything came easily we would never have the opportunity to grow.  We cannot be successful adults if we have only the courage and strength of a child.  It’s important to grow and learn into adulthood and trouble is the best teacher.  Hard times mold us and give us experience that help us become successful and ultimately bring happiness.

Some people keep themselves apart from others and new experiences in an effort to shield themselves from problems.  We can try to keep a low profile and that may prevent some conflict from coming our way but problems will happen simply because we are here.  Instead of trying to hide from them it’s far wiser to face them and learn all we can from solving them.  The wisdom of age comes from the experiences of living a full life – trouble and all.  We have all the courage we need to face anything that comes to us and we’ll gain the strength we need going forward as we learn to solve hard times and difficult problems.  We are smart enough and wise enough to face anything and do it well.

Today if you’re facing a difficult issue and you aren’t sure you will manage, trust in your strength and ability.  There isn’t anything you can’t do and nothing you can’t face.  You are more capable then you know and you will prevail.  Be courageous.  You will win.

Whispers

9 Mar

Finding direction in our lives is sometimes easy and we feel confident we’re going exactly where we want to go and are on the right road to get there. Other times as we move along we may experience some doubt. Even if everything seems to be exactly the way it should be we may hear a little whisper in the back of our minds that something needs to change. There may be a niggling suspicion that things aren’t exactly as they seem. If we’re busy and involved, we may ignore it and if the problem is small it may not matter. But often when we have a feeling that things aren’t right, there is something we need to look at. When we get quiet whispers that come again and again it’s wise to pay attention to them. We can’t know everything but we are highly perceptive. We may be subconsciously aware of something that doesn’t fit and the doubts that creep in may be a sign we need to look more carefully. If we’re doing something we really want to do, we may forge ahead no matter what comes to mind. But if there is a quiet, small voice of caution that whispers again and again, it’s wise to listen. We can stop and really look at the situation objectively and we may see something differently and choose to change our course. Sometimes things are exactly as they seem, but other times we may misunderstand what’s really happening. Listening to our inner voices, and heeding whispers of caution will help us more carefully and effectively navigate our way forward. We can be wise and careful and still accomplish everything we want to do.

We know what we want to do and we know how we want to do it. We are in control of our lives and we can decide how we manage it and what we will do. But we aren’t the only people who have influence over what happens to us. We cannot predict the decisions or actions of others and sometimes their plans will be in direct conflict with ours. If we don’t know what’s coming, we can’t possibly prepare. We can be confident and still exercise caution. We can move ahead with our eyes not only focused on the goal but those around us as well.

The world would be easier to navigate if everyone was honest and clearly stated what they were going to do and followed through on every promise. But that is not how things are. Everyone makes choices and some people will lie to us, some will promise things they have no intention of doing, and some will mislead us to achieve their personal goals. If we are careful and watchful we will have a better chance of succeeding no matter what others do. If we listen to any warnings or doubts and address them carefully we will be more aware and able to proceed more effectively. We can do anything and we can be wise. Listening to the whispers that may come will help us succeed.

Today if you have a feeling that things aren’t exactly as you think they are, step back and evaluate the entire situation openly and honestly. If there are problems, address them and correct your course going forward. You have everything you need to be successful. Listen carefully and pay attention and you’ll find the right way forward.

Up Ahead

8 Mar

We make all kinds of plans as we go through our days.  Sometimes our plans work out just like we imagined they would, but other times things may change.  The view up ahead may be different than we expected or our lives may turn and take us down new roads we didn’t anticipate.  We may find ourselves facing a different reality than we thought we’d see.  When the road ahead changes and we’re forced to go another way it may be hard to find our footing.  We may feel unsure because we don’t know exactly where we’re headed and we may doubt our ability to continue.  Change is constant and sometimes affects us greatly.  We may have moments when we find ourselves struggling to figure out which way to go.  It’s unsettling when we don’t know the road we’re on and it can be difficult to see what’s ahead.  But every road leads to many destinations and in time, if we give ourselves enough space to think things through, we will find our way.  Step by step we’ll find our bearings again.  Nothing in life is guaranteed except that at some point it will end.  Until then although we may want to control our journey we may sometimes have to redirect it and find another way.  We are capable of changing lanes and we can manage whatever comes to us.  If we take the changes a little at a time and process each step as we go, we’ll find our way. Happiness is always there for us and even if we have to search for it, we will find it.

There are countless detours we may face every day of our lives.  Other people may make decisions that impact us, our health situation may change, we may suddenly need to change our location or dozens of other events may come that disrupt our journey.  It’s not comfortable to leave what we know behind and try another way forward.  It may be difficult to adjust to the changes we must make to continue on.  Our confidence may suffer as we try to navigate through cloudy skies and threatening darkness.  We can recalibrate our compass forward and wait for the mists of uncertainly to lift.  There isn’t anything we can’t figure out and no matter what shakes us we will settle again.

When we’re overwhelmed and confused we may always seek the help of those who care about us.  There will always be someone willing to hear us and help us find our way but we must reach out for their hands.  We can ask for advice, search for answers and exercise faith in ourselves until we feel confident again.  The change we’re facing is only a passage and we will find our way through.  There are many roads ahead of us and we will navigate the best one going forward.  No confusion lasts forever and in time, even new places will become familiar.  We have everything we need to succeed.

Today if your road has suddenly shifted because of things out of your control and you feel unsure about which way to proceed, rely on your wisdom and experience, and ask for help if you need it.  You will find your way forward and reach any destination you choose.  There isn’t anything you can’t do.  Keep your eyes focused up ahead.  You already know where you want to go.  You will find the way.

Doubtful

1 Mar

There are times in our lives when we may have to do something or face something that seems beyond our ability to manage.  We may be filled with doubt that we can face what’s before us and prevail.  If we let it, doubt may prevent us from believing we can find our way through our difficulties and convince us we will fail.  We may face some very difficult challenges in our lives, and our perseverance and capabilities may be sorely tested.  If we allow doubt to take control before we try to solve the problem the challenge will be even harder.  Nobody is confident about everything and we’ll all face moments we don’t know how to navigate.  There are endless complications that may arise and unexpected developments that may confuse us or completely stop us.  We are always able to face anything that comes to us and we have all the reserves we need to overcome any difficulty.  We may have doubts at the beginning that we will survive, but moment by moment and step by step we’ll find our way.  We learn our most valuable lessons when we are sorely tested.  The opportunities we face that stretch us beyond what we believe we can handle bring us great resilience and power.  Doubts may come but we can overcome them by determining to move forward and working any problem until we find the answers we need.

If what we are facing is something entirely new to us and we don’t have the tools we need to solve it we can seek help from those around us.  Everyone’s life experience is different and the problems we face are unique to each of us. However, there will likely be someone near us who has experienced something like what we’re facing and we may ask them for advice and counsel going forward.  Most people are willing to share their life experiences with us and help us understand situations they have mastered.  We can reach out and ask for help and when we do chances are someone will be there with answers that will help to move us forward.

There really isn’t any problem or complication that will come to us we can’t figure out.  It may take some time to find the answers we need and we may need to reach into places we’ve never been before but we have enough wisdom and courage to do what is needed.  Life teaches us new things every single day.  Sometimes a lesson that seems the most insignificant carries with it the information we need later to solve a complex issue.  If we pay attention to what we’re learning as we move along, when new problems arise we can draw on all the problems we’ve overcome and use the tools we’ve gained to find our way through.  Life is sometimes complicated and unexpected.  We have everything we need to overcome any difficulty and despite doubt we can find our way to the answers we need.

Today if you’re facing a complex issue that seems too difficult and you’re not sure you can overcome it, remember all the times in the past you’ve prevailed.  You can do anything.  The answers are there for you.  Reach beyond the doubt and find them.  You will prevail and move forward.  Success is always there for you and you will reach it.

One Particle

23 Feb

When trials and sorrow come into our lives and we feel overcome at what we must face, it may be hard to see the other side of the trouble. We may mourn and feel heartbroken if something serious has gone wrong, and struggle to find our way through. Difficulties come to us all and nobody has a life without hardship. If our troubles are extreme or life changing, or if the stress of trying to find answers is intense, we may feel we can’t do it. We may fall down in sadness or worry unsure of how to get up again. A particle is a tiny thing. It’s microscopic but isn’t without strength. All particles, despite their minute size, have energy and momentum. They can move and exert force. In our darkest moments, if we have only a particle of faith that we can endure and overcome, it will be enough to see us through. One particle, one tiny bit of hope, one single piece of determination in the midst of even overwhelming trial is enough to help us find our way. No matter what has happened or what we are facing, we will always have at least one particle of faith left to carry us. We can focus on that, we can determine to hang onto it and take the first step forward. Terrible trials may come to us, and there may be times we feel overcome and weak. But no matter what comes we will always have at least one particle of faith. We always have what we need to persevere and all the courage and strength necessary to continue forward. Even in the midst of great tribulation we have enough. There isn’t anything we can’t do.

Life is unpredictable. If we spend our whole lives doing what’s right and trying to be the best we can be, we will still face hardship. Unexpected developments will come, disappointments will happen, and our faith will be tested. We will experience happiness and joy but we will also experience sorrow and loss. Sorrow teaches us many lessons and gives us strength as we navigate it. We can use that strength going forward to face anything that comes to us. When things go well we can build our reserves of strength and faith, and when things change, as they inevitably will, we will be ready.

If we must face serious difficulties that are life threatening or life changing, we may need to find new ways going forward. It may not be easy, it may not be quick and it may require serious determination. It doesn’t matter how hard it is to change, we can do it. It doesn’t matter how long it takes, we can endure. We are stronger and more powerful than we think we are and our most difficult times can bring out the very best in us. There really is nothing too difficult for us to manage. We can take every change step by step, and every challenge moment by moment until we master it and are successful.

Today if you’re facing a difficult trial and feel it’s too much for you, remember you have everything you need to overcome. You are strong and capable and there is nothing too hard for you to manage. Exercise a particle of faith and let it grow within you. You’ll find your way and gain great strength going forward. You can do anything.
