Aimless

13 Sep

We can do anything we want with our time as we live our lives.  We can wander around aimlessly taking things as they come, or purposefully set goals and achieve the things we desire.  Our time is ours to use as we like and anything is possible.  If we have no compass for the way forward, or lack confidence in our ability to accomplish things we dream about, we may spend our days simply going through the motions of whatever life presents to us.  There are always plenty of things to occupy our thoughts and distract us, and if we choose to, we may spend all our time merely watching the constantly changing landscape.  It’s all up to us but if we are aimless in our direction with no specific destination or goal in mind, we may discover that years have drifted by and nothing has changed.  While it’s comforting to be in situations that are familiar, change can bring great satisfaction.  We all have unlimited potential and there isn’t anything we can’t accomplish.  We are the only ones who can make our dreams come true and direct our lives to the places we want to go.  Sitting back and waiting for things to come to us will not bring success.  Every day is a gift and we can capture each moment going forward and design our perfect life.  Sitting back will never move us forward.  We can pursue any dream or desire, and we can succeed.  There isn’t anything out of reach and all things are possible if we’re willing to work for them.  Our lives are ours and we can make them any way we choose.  We can be happy and fulfilled, and find joy living the lives we want the most.

It can be hard to think about changing our lives.  Even if we want something very badly it may be intimidating to begin doing the things needed to bring it to pass.  When we step onto an unknown path we may feel unsure of our ability to continue.  But the unknown is just a place we haven’t yet visited.  We have all the courage and wisdom needed to open new doors and take new roads going forward.  The scenery and players involved may change but soon they will become familiar and our confidence will rise.  We can trust in ourselves to manage whatever comes and find success.

Nobody can give us the lives we want the most.  Wandering aimlessly through our days will not bring us happiness.  We must take action to create the lives we want.  Real joy comes when we do the things needed to take us to the destinations we desire.  Each step we take brings us closer to the goal.  When we live fully aware of where we are, and push to move forward to where we want to go, we will find happiness.  We deserve complete happiness and choosing to live on purpose, pointed in the direction of our dreams will bring it to us.

Today if you’ve been drifting through your time and just taking things as they come, stop and think about what you want the most.  Where do you really want to be?  Take the first step forward toward the life you dream about.  You can do anything and go anywhere you desire.  Success is always there for you but you must choose it.  Move forward and direct your course to fulfill your dreams.  You can do anything.  Start today.

Building Walls

11 Sep

As we go through our lives we will have a wide variety of experiences.  Along with the amazing days that fill us with joy, we’ll likely endure difficult challenges that bring great trial and sorrow.  When we are struggling through complications and trouble, instead of asking for help from those around us, we might pull back and tuck ourselves away, preferring to face our trials alone.  It’s fine to take time to ourselves to think about our options when things go wrong, but we are never really alone.  There are a lot of people around us and it’s possible someone will have answers and advice that may help us navigate through the mire.  If we build a wall around us every time we face a challenge we separate ourselves from help that may be available.  But if we’re willing to ask for help when we need it and are open enough to listen when we get good advice we may find our way forward more easily.  It never hurts to have another set of eyes on a problem.  Everyone sees things a little differently and someone else may see a solution we didn’t notice.  We have all the courage we need to be open when we’re struggling and if we trust those around us we may find great respite as we discuss the issue with them.  Others are a great blessing to us when we need another point of view.  We don’t need to build a wall to get through.  We can let the bricks lie and share our lives to find answers.

Some people are very private and don’t like to share personal information.  We can always set ourselves apart and do things on our own and we will find success in time.  But if we let our guard down enough to enlist the help of someone we trust we may find it more quickly.  Everyone has different experiences in life and it’s possible that although someone else may not have faced exactly what we’re going through, they may be able to share wisdom regarding a similar situation.  If we look at a globe of the world too closely and only see one country it’s hard to imagine there is anything else to see.  But if we allow someone to show us how to back up and see the entire world we can reset our perspective and see our situation differently.  The same is true of our problems.

It can be hard to trust others with something very personal.  We can explain our situation in ways that highlight the conflict while keeping our private information to ourselves.  We are always in control of our lives and we know what we need.  If we allow others in and are willing to share our struggles with those we trust, we may find our path a little easier and the support we feel will lighten our load and help us find resolution.  There isn’t anything we can’t do and if we get stuck we can get the help we need.

Today if you’re facing a difficult challenge and have been trying to solve it on your own, open the door just a little and let someone else in.  Share your struggle in ways that are comfortable and listen for good advice.  You are remarkable and capable, and there isn’t anything too difficult for you.  Get the support you need to find your way through.  Happiness is always there.  It’s waiting for you just on the other side.

Keeping Score

28 Aug

As we go through our lives we have many opportunities to serve others and help out.  Most of us want to help when we can and try to be available to those who need us.  Serving those around us brings great satisfaction and joy, but there may be times when we feel we’re giving too much or others are taking advantage.  If the same people call on us over and over again for things they should be managing themselves we may begin to feel we’re being used.  We can always decline any request but there are sometimes complications in our relationships or associations that make saying no more difficult.  If we feel we’ve been taken advantage of or manipulated because of relationship constraints, we might decide we deserve something in return and begin to keep score tallying up what we’ve given and what we’ve received.  If we find we’ve given much more than has been reciprocated it may affect how we feel about the other party and what we’re willing to do going forward.  It’s important to have balance in our lives and if we’re doing things that bring us discomfort we may certainly stop.  But we are responsible for the decisions we make and if we allow others to abuse our generosity we can stop.  We don’t have to keep track of how much we’ve given, or how many times we’ve agreed to help.  If we feel we’ve given all we can, we can say no when the next request comes.  We never have to do more than we are comfortable with and choosing what is fair and best for us going forward will bring us peace and confidence.  It’s better to manage our decisions with those around us than to give more than we want and lose our connection.  We know what’s best and we know what we can do.  Taking control and choosing wisely will allow us to be helpful without giving too much.

Some people have trouble managing their lives.  They may make decisions that bring complications into their lives and get overwhelmed when things go wrong.  We’re all responsible for the lives we live and can create them any way we choose.  If we are careless and foolish, and make choices that bring us hardship, we are responsible for the situations that arise.  We cannot push the burden of cleaning up a problem we’ve created onto someone else.  Our choices belong to us and the results of those choices are our responsibility.  We can change our lives any time we want.  We don’t need to rely on others continually to show us the way.  We have all the wisdom and intelligence we need to make good decisions and walk the path we desire most.

It’s good to ask for advice when we need it and we may certainly seek out those who may help us when we get stuck.  But if we fall into the habit of constantly asking others to help us solve our problems we may forget we are capable of solving many of them on our own.  We can resolve even complex and difficult issues if we take the time we need to evaluate them and choose our way forward.  It’s fine to seek help when we need it but we can also learn to be self-reliant and trust that we’ll find the answers.  There really isn’t anything too difficult for us to manage.  We have incredible insight and great wisdom from which to draw and all the answers are there for us.

Today if you’ve been asked to help again and feel you may be giving too much, evaluate the situation objectively and make the best choice before you proceed.  You are in control of your life and can manage it any way you choose.  If you’re stuck and feel like you need help to find answers, seek it, but remember you already know what you want to do and have all the courage and wisdom you need to proceed.  You are amazing and wise.  There isn’t anything you can’t do.  Be courageous.  You have everything you need to succeed.

Redirect

17 Aug

As we go through our lives and move toward goals we want to accomplish there may be lots of factors involved in our success. Sometimes the plans we make work out well and we face little resistance, but other times we may come upon a road block that stops our progress. If we’re in a job we like and want to advance but the positions ahead are tied up, or we’re in a relationship that is stuck and we want to move forward, we may feel locked down and frustrated. We can tread water for a time and exercise patience as we look at our options, but if there really is no way to move forward it may be time to redirect our course. We can stay in any situation for as long as we like. We can decide to cope with things as they are and remain in place. Or we can decide our goals are important and do what is needed to change our direction onto a road that will lead us to them. It’s not always easy to change and it takes courage to choose a new direction, but our lives belong to us and we can do anything we really want to do. If we can’t get to a destination we desire by staying where we are, we can move. There are endless opportunities available to us and we can always choose another path. It may take time and determination to do what is needed to alter our course but we have everything we need to accomplish anything we like. Our futures are ours to design. We can settle for what we have or we can reach for the stars. There are no limits to what we can accomplish if we are willing to do what it takes. We can have the lives we truly want and find happiness.

We understand where we are now and what to expect in our daily lives. It can be intimidating to change course and try something new. There is no way to know how our decisions will work out or where they will take us. If we really want more than we have now or desire new experiences, we can turn and choose a new way. There are countless roads we can travel and limitless things to try. We have all the courage we need to do anything we desire and there is no need to stay anywhere we don’t want to be.

Although we live in a world with billions of people and there may be many influences over us, we are responsible for our decisions and how we live our lives. It’s useless to complain about where we are if we aren’t willing to move. If we aren’t happy and unfulfilled or if we are frustrated and bored, we can change our circumstances and create a new situation. There isn’t anything we can’t do and nothing powerful enough to hold us in place. We can change and grow and try anything going forward. We can have exciting and fun lives that fill us with happiness and success. The choice is always ours to make. There isn’t anything we can’t do.

Today if you aren’t happy with your current situation and yearn for something new, make a plan to achieve the goals you most desire. There are roads to every destination and you can choose them. You can go anywhere and do anything. Turn your course and redirect your way forward to where you most want to be. Happiness is always available to you and you have everything you need to gain it.

Rear View Mirror

8 Aug

As we go through our lives we experience many scenarios and situations. Sometimes they are beneficial and we build connections and remain. Others times they may be passing encounters or situations that are uncomfortable and we decide to let go. Although we can choose where we’ll go and how we’ll live our lives we might face a time where we end up in a place that isn’t working for us but is hard to disengage from. Perhaps it’s a difficult relationship that is unmanageable but we aren’t sure how to change it. Or maybe it’s a pattern we’ve developed that worked in the beginning but no longer brings us happiness. Life is filled with all kinds of opportunities and experiences. If we find ourselves doing things that aren’t bringing us joy we can change them. It doesn’t matter if we’ve been doing the same thing for years or if the change we desire causes temporary turmoil. What matters is that we live our lives authentically and in ways that bring us satisfaction and joy. We are the only ones who can create happiness in our lives. We know what we want most of all and we can let go of anything that prevents us from achieving it. We can drive forward leaving what doesn’t work in the rear view mirror. Our lives are ours to design our own way. If others disagree we can still do what is best for us. We can move forward and leave the past behind. We have all the wisdom and courage to make the decisions we need to be completely happy and fulfilled.

Routines make us feel comfortable and if we do the same things every day we may feel secure because the scenery doesn’t change. Routines are great for sameness but not effective if we want to grow and stretch. We can’t discover how far we can go if we stay in the same place day after day. There are limitless things we could do with our lives and endless experiences we could enjoy but we must be open to new things and willing to step away from the norm. We can try something new and stretch beyond where we are today.

When our relationships with others are difficult and we feel restricted it’s hard to express who we really are. When others have expectations of what we’ll do or how we’ll act and we comply with their desires we may get along for a time. We may be able to go through the motions but eventually our true selves will push forward and we’ll need to change. Who we really are is precious and valuable. We don’t have to fit in, we don’t have to pretend, and we can genuinely be our best selves. Nobody could possibly design a better fit for us than who we already are. We can share that and be truly happy. The uniqueness and individuality we bring is priceless and a gift no one else can bring.

Today if you’re in a situation that isn’t where you want to be or going along with something that isn’t what you really want to do, reframe your way forward. You can be yourself and choose a path that reflects what you want most. You are unique and wonderful just as you are. Leave the games behind and be yourself. You are a gift to the world and your uniqueness blesses us all.
