Jagged Edge

Everyone wants an easy life where things always go smoothly and nothing gets in the way. We all want to sail through our days without resistance and trouble. It’s nice to dream about but this is real life and there is always a lot going on. There are people all around us making decisions, many of which we know nothing about but could affect us anyway. Complications come, trouble happens, issues arise and things get messy. If we’ve been seriously impacted and are devastated and hurt, it can feel like we’re covered with jagged edges. Nothing is smooth, nothing is easy and we may be overwhelmed and unsure. Hard times will come to us all, and what we do with them and how we handle them will determine what happens next. If we get angry and refuse to look at the problem, it will remain unsolved and unchecked indefinitely. However, if we stand strong, no matter what has gone wrong, and face everything with courage and clarity, there isn’t anything we can’t manage. The situation might be extreme, and we may be stunned at where we are, but the answers will always be there. By taking our time and trusting ourselves, we can take everything apart step by step and find the way forward. Life is complicated and we may suffer, but there isn’t anything powerful enough to hold us down forever. We are stronger and wiser than we imagine, and will prevail. Every dream is still there for us, and with determination and patience, we will succeed.

We all have things we think we could never survive – the death of a spouse, the betrayal of a lover, the loss of our fortunes, and endless other things. Life is long and at some point our worst dreams may come true. We may believe our lives are destroyed and there is no way we can get through but that will never be true. Even in our darkest hours, even if we’re sure we’re done and there is no hope, there will still be light ahead. There will always be a way out and we are smart enough and strong enough to find it.

When we’re in the midst of despair, someone may tell us to give up and surrender, that there is no way we can ever handle what’s happening. That is only their opinion and nobody knows us better than we know ourselves. There is great courage and wisdom inside us, and when we’re pressed against the wall, we can pull from deep within to find the answers we need. The jagged edges of pain and desperation will not overcome us, but sharpen our vision and bring us clarity. We know what we want, and have everything we need to get it.

Today if you’re suffering through a very difficult passage and feel overcome, trust yourself. You are stronger and more powerful than you think you are. Stand strong and be courageous. You already have everything you need to prevail and nothing can keep you from success. Step forward and be confident. You are amazing and capable. Trust yourself. Every dream awaits and you will make them yours.

Prove It

There are billions of people on Earth, and we’re all different. There are endless types of lifestyles, customs, languages, traditions and other facets that define who and where we are. People who live far apart from each other may have completely different ideas about life and how things should go. There isn’t only one way to live well, and the many expressions possible make up the human race. We are all valuable and worthwhile. We all have something to offer no matter our circumstance or situation. Some people have very defined ideas about the way things should be done and how things should work. If we must interact with them, they may require us to prove we are worthy by doing what they say and following their rules. We can define anything we like for our own personal lives, and can create rules of order for business or other projects, but we don’t have the right to tell anyone else how to live. We are all individuals and do not need to conform to anyone else’s ideas. We never have to prove our worth in order to fit in. We know who we are and what we want, and with confidence and clarity can go anywhere and do anything. Our lives are ours to design, and we all bring great depth and blessing to the world. We are unique and have specific gifts to offer nobody else can give. By honoring all the differences and contributions possible, our lives will be enriched and embellished, and we will find great satisfaction and personal reward.

It’s always easy to move forward when everyone is on the same page and going in the same direction. When the goal is defined and everyone is in agreement about how to reach it, the road ahead may be clear and unobstructed. But we’re all different and have our own ideas about how to proceed. By taking the time to listen to every suggestion and look at all the options possible, we can include everyone’s ideas and still find the best road ahead. We all have much to offer, and valuing every point of view will help bring agreement and success.

There is an old saying that “Rank has its privileges.” Oftentimes that’s true. The president of the company will likely have more influence than a newly hired clerk. But that doesn’t mean he or she has all the answers. Our perspectives are colored by our own personal experiences, and someone else may have a different view that opens up a completely new way of proceeding that will bring great accomplishment and success. We can be open to new ideas, no matter how foreign they may seem, and find the best answers for moving ahead.

Today if you’re being pressured to follow along when you disagree, speak up and share your ideas with those around you. You are amazing and highly capable and can figure out even the most complex issues. Stand strong and be open to every idea. All the answers are there for you and nothing can keep you from success. Trust yourself, and step forward. Every dream is possible. Be confident, and you will prevail.

Absolutely Impossible

As we go through our lives, we’ll face many unexpected, challenging, difficult and surprising moments. There may be situations that confound us, twist the road ahead, and complicate things in ways we never imagined. Because we don’t live isolated, alone and by ourselves, others will come and go throughout our lives, and the choices they make and the things they do may impact us in many ways. There may be a situation that arises when the best option forward is something we don’t believe we can do. The solution to the problem is so difficult, and so hard to think about, it may seem absolutely impossible to accomplish. Maybe we must stand up to someone very powerful and influential, maybe we must withdraw from an intense connection or relationship, or a million other possible scenarios. When we’re facing our most dreaded nightmare, and the only way to get through is to push ourselves far beyond what we believe we can manage, we may shrink and stammer, unsure we can survive. The situation may be dire and we may be sorely tested and intimidated, but there isn’t anything we can’t do if we’re determined to proceed. We are more powerful than we think we are and far stronger than we imagine. There is greatness in us, and all the courage we need is already there within. Even if we’re not confident yet, we can trust ourselves to do what is necessary. We are capable of accomplishing anything we must, and nothing can hold us down when we’re ready to move. By standing firm and looking ahead, keeping our eyes focused on the goal and holding fast to our convictions, we will find the right road forward and reach success.

Some people are very strong and very loud. They know what they want and will not tolerate opposing ideas. If we don’t agree and must come up against them, they may question our intelligence, insult us, and try everything possible to demean us and shake our confidence in an effort to make us comply. They can do and say anything they like. We are entitled to our own viewpoints and can proceed according to our own desires and decisions. We never need anyone else’s approval or permission to make any choice we desire. Being loud doesn’t mean we must follow along. It’s just noise, and we have everything we need to continue forward our own way.

There may come a situation that is so hard and difficult we may believe there is no way we can face it. It’s just too much. We don’t want to look at it, we don’t want to think about it, and we might try to simply ignore it. Looking away from problems may bring us respite for a time, and we can always step away to think and rest when we need to. But our lives are our responsibility and by courageously addressing whatever has happened, we will find the answers we need to resolve any issue. We will never be so overcome we cannot survive. The roads we need are there and with patience and clarity, we’ll get through.

Today if you’re in a situation that is extremely difficult and you aren’t sure you have what you need to prevail, trust yourself. You have already resolved many hard issues and many complex problems. Take things one step at a time and be confident. You are amazing and can do anything. Step forward and show us your best. Every blessing and success is waiting and you will reach them all.

Standing Around and Waiting

There are endless things we can do, unlimited places we could go, and limitless things we may accomplish. Opportunities are possible no matter where we are or what’s happening. Nobody lives in a vacuum and there will always be another road to travel. Everyone wants an easy life filled with pleasure, wealth and comfort. If we won the birth lottery, we may have been born into circumstances that provide that, but those examples are few and far between. So if that’s not the case, we’ll be responsible for creating the lives we want the most. We already know what we want, and we can dream and think about how great it will be when we get to the goal. But if all we do is stand around and wait for it to arrive, we will be sorely disappointed. The chances of us getting everything we desire simply by wishing for it is far less than the chances of us winning the lottery jackpot. It’s not going to happen. Waiting for luck is a fool’s game, and if that’s all we’re willing to do, we’ll likely end up with what we have now and nothing more. But if we’re willing to plan for success, and then do everything necessary to make it ours, we can make our dreams come true. We are capable of far more than we may imagine and when we’re ready can begin forward toward whatever we desire. Nothing is off limits and everything is possible. We need only decide what we want, and then begin forward to make it ours. Nothing is powerful enough to hold us in place but our own choices. If we want something more, we can have it. By trusting ourselves, and being willing to push forward no matter what comes, we will reach every destination and find great satisfaction and happiness. We deserve the best of everything, and with determination and focus, can make it ours.

Mediocrity is easy to achieve. We can go with the flow, keep our heads down and do the same things over and over again for as long as we like. We can have a simple, easy life that doesn’t inspire us but is good enough to get by. Choosing that is like always having vanilla ice cream and never trying anything else. Vanilla is fine, and we know what to expect, but there are many other flavors, and great refreshment and excitement come when we try something new. It can be scary to step away from what we know, but we are strong and wise, and will find every answer we need as we move ahead. There is great reward waiting when we choose to move toward a new horizon. The whole world is there for us, and we can do anything.

Some people are intimidated by change and may encourage us to be happy with what we have. They are comfortable with things as they are and think we should be too. We can take any advice we like, but our lives belong solely to us, and we can design them any way we like. We don’t need agreement or permission to move in a new direction, and can pursue any goal or destination we choose. There is no way to know what we can accomplish until we try. Every single goal is possible and every road is waiting. By choosing what we want most and stepping forward with confidence and clarity, we will prevail and find incredible reward.

Today if you’ve been waiting for your life to change, decide what you want the most and make a plan to achieve it. Trust yourself and take the first step forward. You are wise and powerful and have everything you need to do anything you desire. Be clear and confident. Every dream is possible, and nothing can keep you from success. You can have the life you dream of and find great satisfaction. Nothing can keep you in place, and you will succeed.

Explaining It

Our lives belong to us and we can do anything we like. We can decide what we want, where we want to go, what we want to accomplish and anything else we desire. Everyone knows we can all make our own decisions, but that may not stop some people from questioning us about what we’re doing. They may see us moving toward something they don’t understand, and ask us to explain ourselves. Our decisions are ours to make and we don’t need those around us to agree or go along in order to succeed. If we want to explain our thinking and what we’re doing, we can, but we’re not compelled to do so. We don’t have to share the details of our choices or why we’re doing anything. The roads we choose are up to us, and fit whatever model we have chosen for our own personal lives. Some people are more comfortable when everyone is doing the same things, and if we step away from the paths they’ve chosen, they may question us. Their need to understand and be comfortable is not our responsibility, and we don’t have to comply simply because someone else wants us to. There is a big world out there with endless opportunities for those who seek them. Every destination is possible, and we are brave enough and smart enough to find our way toward any goal we desire. The lives we want the most are there for us. By being true to who we are, and doing what is needed to move forward, we will reach great success. We already know what we want and nothing is out of reach. We can keep our eyes focused on the road ahead, and step forward, confident we will prevail.

Change is constant and no matter what is happening now, tomorrow will be different. We learn as we go, and gain skills and understanding as we go through all the experiences we face each day. If we’ve been in a career field for a long time but find it is no longer rewarding or taking us where we want to go, we can look at all the options possible and decide on something new. Others around us may question why we would ever give up what we’ve done so well for so long, but their questions have no impact on our decision. If we want something different, something more, we can have it. We are never stuck in one place indefinitely, and can change anything at any time.

If we pretend to agree with something we don’t like in an effort to move forward, it may work for a time. We can go along even if we’re not convinced, and play the game for as long as we like. But our happiness is important, and it’s impossible to be completely happy living a counterfeit existence. We can choose to honor our best selves, be truthful and step forward, honestly choosing what we really want the most. Every goal we seek is possible, and with focus and clarity, we can go anywhere and do anything.

Today if you want something different and others are asking you why, be confident. You know what you want and don’t have to explain your choice. Your life is yours to design and every destination is possible. Decide what you want the most, and take the first step forward. You are more powerful than you realize and there is great success just ahead. Nothing can hold you in place, and you will prevail.
