All In

19 Apr

When there is something or someone we really believe in and want to support, we may give all our attention and focus to helping them. If what they stand for is something we firmly believe in, we may dedicate countless hours to helping them or doing things that move them forward. It’s good to believe strongly and it’s good to have people we admire and support, but it’s important to always remember who we are and keep our personal standards. Blind allegiance will never work in our favor. No matter what we do in our lives our first responsibility is to ourselves. We set our own standards of who we are and what we’ll do. If we get caught up in situations where our faith is so intense we follow directions without thinking, we may find ourselves doing things that don’t match who we really want to be. We can be committed and still remember who we are. If a situation requires us to give up our personal standards we need to stop and re-evaluate our way forward. Being true to ourselves is our first priority. We are in charge of our lives and no matter what anyone else decides, we can always choose for ourselves. We can be dedicated and still hold strong to what is best for us. Our gifts are unique and when we share the best of who we are the world is a better place.

If there is a venture we want to be involved in we may devote our time and energy to it and work hard to move it forward. If we are asked to do something that is outside the scope of what is appropriate for us, we may consider our options. We don’t have to do anything that compromises our standards or is in conflict with the example we want to set. We don’t have to follow along blindly to show support. We always have the power to make the best choices for ourselves and choose how we will engage in any situation. Being true to who we really are is important and we may find ways to support the cause that ensure we continue to hold fast to that.

Some people are very charismatic and convincing. Their actions and words may be very attractive and compelling, and it’s possible to become attracted to their energy and intensity and get involved before we have time to think. When we are captivated it’s wise to take a step back and see the situation completely. It’s important to make choices that take us where we want to go most and help us become the people we truly want to be. We never need to sacrifice our personal standards for someone or something else. We have a lot to offer. When we are true to what we want most, we become the people we want to be.

Today if you’ve been caught up in a situation that is taking you off the road you most want to travel, you can step back. You can support any situation you choose and still be true to yourself. Remember who you are and what you want. You bring gifts to the world that nobody else can give. We all want to know who you really are and are blessed because you’re here.

Blocked Number

30 Mar

Getting a call from a blocked number is like playing one-sided tag. Someone is there to tag us but we can’t return the favor. They are invisible and we can’t call them back. If we block our number before we call someone we can find them but they can’t find us. It’s a control mechanism we may employ to protect our privacy and keep our information secret. While there may be appropriate times to block ourselves before we reach out, often it’s done to keep us apart and separate. It’s a one-sided game. The caller is protected and locked away. We may meet people who are very good at telling us what they want, and defining what works for them but unable to hear us when we express our feelings in return. They know how to ask for their needs but seem unable to hear the needs of others. If we only see ourselves and what we want and only focus on our own road ahead ignoring those around us, it’s like sending out a blocked call. We know where we’re going and we aren’t interested in seeing anything else. It’s the truest form of selfishness. It’s good to look out for ourselves and determine our own way forward and we can make any decisions we like. But if we only see our own narrow road ahead we will miss the opportunities and lessons we may learn by interacting and embracing those around us. We don’t have to block our number to get what we want. We are smart enough and wise enough to be open and still reach our destination.

When one person carries all the cards in any relationship there will be problems. Every successful relationship requires balance. They give a little, and we give a little. If one is always up and the other down, the relationship is destined to fail. There is risk in anything worth pursuing and nothing is stable without balance. If we want a successful relationship in any arena we must let our walls down and be open. We cannot completely protect ourselves with armor and expect to get close to anyone. Shields and blocks are good for keeping an enemy out but if we employ them when we’re trying to build connections we will fail.

It can be unsettling to let others get close to us and know us deeply. When all our doors are open and the light is pouring in we may feel vulnerable and tremulous. Our connections will only be as close as we let them. If we keep ourselves a step back we may have a workable relationship but it will be superficial. Only when we’re brave enough to show our true selves completely will we achieve a deep and satisfying association. The more we give the more we’ll get in return. Our lives are richer when we let others in and we’ll find true happiness when we unblock our connections.

Today if you’ve been keeping yourself a step back and not completely committing to a relationship, think about your options. You can let your walls down and have rich and rewarding connections to those around you. Open up and let others in. Your life will be richer and embellished in positive ways you can’t imagine. Connect with those around you. You have so much to offer and we all want to know you.

Mountains Ahead

22 Mar

Every life is filled with challenges and opportunities.  No matter what we accomplish there will always be another mountain ahead waiting for us to climb and as long as we live we will have challenges to overcome.  While we’re busy learning all we can from every experience and trying hard to succeed we may become so focused on the task ahead that our behavior with those around us may suffer.  It’s great to be determined and self-directed but as we travel forward if we cut off those around us and brush them away as we plow ahead we may lose connections we might need in the future.  We may need assistance to overcome an obstacle and if we’ve pushed the person with the answers away in the past they may not be interested in helping us.  Being aware and kind to those around us no matter how focused and busy we are will always be a benefit to us.  Even if we never need their help in the future, the bridges we build by our consideration and respect will be a great support in all our endeavors.  Embracing the friendship of those around us, building relationships and letting others into our lives will be a great benefit and blessing.  We all have so much to offer and even when we’re pushing for success we can share our gifts and allow others to share theirs with us.

In our lives as we travel from one point to the next there will be times when something gets in the way and stops our progress.  Even if what we’re doing is very important if there is a barricade in our path we will not be able to go forward until we find a way around it.  If others have been in the same position they may have valuable information that will help us.  We can be open to asking for help and then listening and taking good advice.  We don’t have to do everything ourselves to be successful and relying on others from time to time is an asset we may draw on.

Sometimes we may believe we are the only ones who know exactly what we need to do and how we need to do it.  It’s good to be confident in our abilities but no matter what we know there will likely be someone else who knows a little more.  If we are receptive to listening when they offer us information and take the time to carefully evaluate their advice we may find an easier way forward than relying solely on our own resources.  Everybody has unique gifts to offer.  Being open to receiving them and allowing new ideas to enter our plans often helps us achieve our goals more efficiently.  We can be confident in our own abilities and still allow the ideas of others to embellish our plans.

Today if you’ve been pushing hard to get to a goal you want to achieve and have brushed past others along the way, remember you can’t know everything.  Others have ideas you haven’t yet considered and allowing them into your life and listening to their advice may give you the boost you’ve been seeking.  You can do anything but you don’t have to do everything alone.  You can listen and see things in new ways and as you do you will build bridges that will help you get to the goal.  Success is always there for you.  Allowing others to join you along the way will help you find it.

One More Step

20 Mar

When we’ve been struggling with something for a while or trying to accomplish a big task we may face many complications and detours along the way.  It takes energy to keep pushing through and thinking of new ways to go forward and after a time we may believe the goal is too high or too difficult to achieve.  When the road to a destination we’re seeking has been long and there have been many problems to overcome along the way, we may begin to re-think our objective and perhaps consider letting it go.  But often when we get to that point we are also close to the goal we’re seeking.  If we stop and rest for a moment, we may find the strength we need to take one more step forward.  That step, that last push, is often what gets us to the goal we’ve been trying to reach.  We always have reserves we can pull from when we get tired and there is always enough for one more step forward.  We can pull from within and reach the destination we’ve worked hard for.  There is enough power inside to take us all the way to the end of any road.  We can reach deep for our strength when we need it and grab onto it to carry us through.  Some roads are long and hard, and if we’re tired of the challenge we may find ourselves wondering if we can succeed.  Taking one more step forward is all we need to focus on.  Just one step more, and then if we still aren’t there we’ll have what we need to take another.  Every road has an end and no matter how long we’ve been traveling we will reach the destination.  There isn’t anything we can’t accomplish no matter how hard it may be.  We have enough determination and stamina to endure whatever is needed to win.

There is no way to know when we begin how any journey will go.  Even if we plan well, and try to foresee all the complications that may come, there will be things we don’t expect.  If we need everything to go as planned in order to succeed we may not prevail.  But we can be flexible and willing to bend when the road changes course or something is in our way.  We can figure out any problem that comes and find a way around it.  No plan ever goes exactly as we hope it will.  There will always be something that surprises us that may take us off course for a while.  We can be ready for those complications when they arise and be prepared to change our plans when needed.

Sometimes our journeys take longer than we expect or take us somewhere we don’t anticipate.  It really doesn’t matter how long it takes us to succeed when we reach the goal we’re seeking.  We can adjust our plans to accommodate any delays and reroute our way forward to circumvent any detour in the way.  There isn’t a goal before us we can’t reach and with careful consideration we can navigate any complication and find success.  We are strong and smart, and there really isn’t anything too difficult for us to figure out.  We can take another step forward and keep going until we reach success.

Today if you’ve been working on something for a long time and it seems you’ll never get there, take another step forward.  You are closer than you think and everything you’ve done so far has brought you near success.  You will reach the destination.  You are right at the doors.  Take another step.  The prize is just ahead and you will reach it.

Spin Spin

13 Mar

When our car gets stuck in the mud and the wheels have sunk deep into the mire it can be hard to get it out again.  No matter how many times we gun the engine and try to gain traction we may go nowhere.  The car does its part by engaging the engine and turning the wheels but without anything to grab onto the energy is wasted.  The only way out is to provide traction for the wheels so the spinning can stop and movement forward can begin.  Our lives can be like that sometimes.  We may want to go somewhere but can’t seem to move ahead.  We may get stuck, spinning our wheels in the same place without anything to propel us forward.  Often when that happens we aren’t generally just standing still.  We may be expending a lot of energy and working very hard but what we’re doing isn’t working.  If we don’t change our methods we may end up exhausted, frustrated and confused about what’s wrong.  We can adopt any plan we choose and see how it goes.  But it’s important to pay attention and if we aren’t moving forward we can modify our plans to find success.  Working harder doesn’t always fix the problem.  If we’re in the mud, spinning our wheels faster won’t do anything to push us ahead.  If what we’re doing isn’t working we can modify our way forward and find success.  We have everything we need to accomplish anything we choose.  We can turn when the road stops and find another way forward and we can be successful.

Some people think there is only way to do things.  They may have defined rules about what they should and should not do and what is appropriate for them.  But there is no one right way to do anything.  If we want to do something that requires us to reach beyond what we know or what is comfortable we can stretch and learn new patterns.  We are smart enough and brave enough to step onto unknown territory in order to get to a goal we want to achieve.  There are always many ways to find success no matter what we’re seeking.  Being open to new ideas will help us find what we’re looking for and take us to the destination we desire.

It may be uncomfortable to change our personal patterns and reach beyond the familiar.  Even if we know we’re stuck we may find it difficult to consider new ideas we haven’t tried.  Keeping an open mind and focusing on the big picture instead of the minor changes we need to make will help us adjust our plans and push us forward to where we want to go.  We all get stuck in the mud sometimes.  We can find the traction we need to move forward if we evaluate the situation objectively and openly.  There isn’t anything we can’t do and nothing we can’t overcome.  We can make all our dreams come true and there is nothing powerful enough to stop us.

Today if you feel like you’re spinning your wheels and going nowhere, stop and look at the situation openly.  See what you can change and modify your plans.  There is no situation too complex for you to figure out.  You can go anywhere and do anything you choose.  Do what is needed to move forward.  Success is there for you and you’ll reach it.
