Connections

14 Sep

There are billions of people on the earth. We will never meet them all but we are connected to them in many ways. We influence each other constantly as we navigate our lives. Whether we’re aware of it or not, we change every situation we’re in just because we’re there. We have more influence on those around us than we may realize. If we’re happy and feel good, our positive energy will show and those who see it will be drawn to us. We have the power to lift others by our example and can be a great influence for good. Conversely, if we’re struggling we may push others away. The impact we make is up to us. Our connections to those around us may be invisible but will always be present. We can be mindful of our influence and remember how important we are in everything we do. We can share ourselves in ways that are comfortable and allow others to share with us in return. When we keep our connections strong we feel more confident and supported. We’re all in this together and that bond can be the glue that takes us from trial to success. We have millions of brothers and sisters around us who can help us through difficult trials and rejoice with us when things go well.

We all process trouble differently. Some people like to talk things out with others, some people bury themselves in activity as a way to get through, and some of us just want to be left alone. Being alone can give us the space we need to clear our heads and find the answers we seek. It can be helpful for a time but being locked away will also keep the influence of others away. Everyone has different experiences and someone near us may know things about our situation that are helpful. We can reach out to those we trust and allow them to share their advice with us. A different perspective may open new options we hadn’t considered and those options may help us find our way forward more easily.

There is a grove of over 40,000 aspen trees growing in a forest that are not individual organisms but in essence all one tree. They share the same network of roots and each tree is a clone of the one next to it. In some ways, we are like that grove of trees. Although we are all individuals, as people we share a common ancestry and even though our desires are different our needs are the same. We can lean on each other in times of discomfort and enjoy each other’s company when things go well. Remembering and strengthening our connections to those around us will bring us comfort and confidence, and help us find new ways forward to success.

Today if you’ve set yourself apart and are facing a problem alone, remember the help available from those around you. Reach out for answers and let others in. We’re all cheering for your success. You’re a valuable member of the team and we’re glad you’re here. You deserve the very best of everything. Strengthen your connections to those around you and let them help you make your dreams come true.

A Thousand Miles

8 Sep

We all have ideas about how our lives should go and what we want to do.  If we were all alone in our pursuits and could keep anything from blocking our way forward, success would come easily.  But there are billions of people sharing the planet with us and some of them can get right up in our faces.  Despite our best efforts to dodge obstacles we may get waylaid and find that we are nowhere near our goal.  We may feel like we’re a thousand miles away from it.  Getting pushed off course by something that happens over which we have no control or going along with someone else’s plans may take us far from where we want to go.  People can be very persuasive and if they want us to participate in something important to them we may step away from our chosen path to follow them.  It’s important to find ways to get along with others and we all want to be helpful and kind, but we don’t have to forsake what is important to us.  We can set personal limits on our time so that we have the resources we need to pursue our own goals.  People will take all the time we’re willing to give and it’s up to us to determine where the lines are.  We can always redirect our course and redefine our priorities.  If we want to change our direction we may change it.  We are always in control of our lives and can move closer to our goals by taking steps in the direction that will lead to them.  Nothing is out of reach and we can always achieve success.

It’s easy to blame others or situations when we lose our way.  While there are times in our lives when we must do things that take us off our chosen path, we can continue forward by modifying our journey and continuing to focus on our goals.  No matter what we’re doing we can take another step forward.  There is great reward and happiness when we find ways to work successfully around any obstacle.  We deserve to have all our dreams come true, and by keeping our eyes focused on the way forward we can achieve anything.

There are endless distractions in life.  There are things that are fun and enjoyable, developments that complicate our lives over which we have no control, and even some mindless distractions that do nothing but waste time.  We can engage in any activity we choose at any time but if we want to achieve our personal goals we must value the time we give them.  The road forward is always there for us.  We can procrastinate our choices but we will never complete any journey we don’t start.  Every destination is available to us and we can do anything we desire.  Choosing to work toward what we want most will bring us happiness and satisfaction, and make our lives fulfilling and joyful.

Today if you know where you want to go but have been distracted by activities around you, think about your way forward.  Take the first step on the road that will lead you to success.  There isn’t anything you can’t accomplish and all your dreams can come true.  Focus on what’s most important to you today, work around any obstacle in your way, and begin the journey.  The destination is waiting for you and nothing will keep you from it.

Auto Pilot

30 Aug

Often our lives are very busy and we have lots of things to get done.  We might have a list of tasks to accomplish or be in situations where there are constant developments that need our attention.  When we’re working hard moving forward and accomplishing things we may step into a sort of auto pilot role.  We may finish one thing and then immediately begin the next without much thought.  If we aren’t paying attention to what’s going on we may make mistakes and take turns that bring complications and problems.  We can’t go back in time and if we create an issue that complicates our way forward we will have to solve it before we can continue.  The time spent correcting our course and cleaning up a mess cannot be recaptured.  Auto pilot is great when there are parameters set up to allow things to go well but in our lives if we don’t pay attention we may falter and stumble.  Even when we’re busy and pressed to accomplish much we can step back for a moment to ensure we plan our next steps effectively.  The old saying that “haste makes waste” can apply.  We don’t have to hurry to be successful.  We can be wise and careful, and still accomplish everything we set out to do.

Some people are great planners.  They may have several calendars to post their projects and tasks on, electronic reminders to alert them when something is due, or composed daily schedules that allocate time for each endeavor.  Planning is great and is a useful tool but planning is just a way to organize our tasks and doesn’t allow for unforeseen complications.  Nothing is set in stone and often things happen that impact even the best designed plans.  When complications arise, as they inevitably will, we can adapt to the changes and modify our course going forward to complete the task.  Change is constant and being willing to adjust our trajectory will allow us to address our needs and find success.

Life is unpredictable and sometimes something we want to accomplish isn’t possible now.  Perhaps the timing is wrong, or others who need to be involved are otherwise occupied, or we don’t have all the information to proceed.  There are few times in life when we are subject to unchangeable deadlines.  If we need to set something aside for now, we can.  It doesn’t mean we’ll never get it done, it just means we plan to accomplish it at a later time.  Being willing to adjust our timeframes and continue forward will help us complete all the tasks we desire and continue forward with success.  We can be flexible and change our parameters whenever we need to.  Things will change and the opportunity to complete every task will arise.  When it does we’ll be ready and able to move forward.

Today if you’ve got a lot to accomplish and you’re rushing from one item to the next, take a moment to think about how you want to proceed.  You are capable of doing great things and accomplishing much.  Give yourself time to plan your next step forward and be confident and aware.  You can do anything and do it well.  Success is always there for you and you will gain it.

No Power

25 Aug

Our lives can be complicated and there may be times when we have many things to deal with at the same time.  When we’re stressed with many issues that need our attention we must work hard to keep all the balls in the air.  It isn’t easy to solve many things at once and although we will accomplish everything that needs to be done, in the midst of the process we may feel overwhelmed.  The tension and pressure to resolve issues may make us feel agitated and on edge, and sleep may elude us as we try to process everything before us.  We all face difficult and challenging periods in our lives and no matter how strong and capable we are, the continued pressure may wear on us.  After a while we may feel we can’t take anymore.  Our power feels diminished and we are exhausted.  Our batteries die and our energy fades.  When that happens, the only way to continue is to stop.  It seems counter-productive to stop in order to go forward, but once our power has been drained we must stop and recharge.  We can step away for a time, find refreshment, forget about all the issues before us and rest.  If we take a short break, leave the situation and allow our minds to wander, we may be amazed at how clear things become.  We will be able to see everything in a different light and as we allow our minds to clear, answers we’ve been seeking will have the chance to rise.  There is no problem or complication that is beyond us.  We can solve anything but we can’t move forward if we’re overwhelmed and exhausted.  Taking a few moments to find respite and relax will give us renewed energy and clarify the way forward.

There is an answer to every problem we face.  All roads lead to a destination and there is never only one way to get there.  If the road we’ve been traveling is complicated and there are continual road blocks moving forward, we can look at our options and find another path.  Even if the problem has always been solved one way in the past we can choose a new way to get to the destination.  Every option is available to us and thinking about new ways forward may open new resolutions previously hidden.  We have everything we need to solve any problem.  Keeping our minds open and our eyes focused on the way forward will help us resolve any issue before us.

Nobody needs to re-invent the wheel.  If we get stuck we can reach out to those around us for additional information, advice or counsel.  We all have a lot to offer and our understanding and comprehension of issues will differ.  We can draw on the experience of others and use their expertise to help us find the answers we need.  We don’t have to do everything alone and we can bring others in who may have a perspective that allows us to move forward.  We are wise and competent and there isn’t anything we can’t do.  We will find every answer and every solution if we step back, take a break, and seek help from those around us.

Today if you’re facing several complications and you are overwhelmed at the tasks before you, take a moment to step back and see everything clearly.  Allow your mind to rest and the answers will come.  You have everything you need already to find success.  Step back, stop and then move forward.  All the answers are there for you.

Rear View Mirror

8 Aug

As we go through our lives we experience many scenarios and situations. Sometimes they are beneficial and we build connections and remain. Others times they may be passing encounters or situations that are uncomfortable and we decide to let go. Although we can choose where we’ll go and how we’ll live our lives we might face a time where we end up in a place that isn’t working for us but is hard to disengage from. Perhaps it’s a difficult relationship that is unmanageable but we aren’t sure how to change it. Or maybe it’s a pattern we’ve developed that worked in the beginning but no longer brings us happiness. Life is filled with all kinds of opportunities and experiences. If we find ourselves doing things that aren’t bringing us joy we can change them. It doesn’t matter if we’ve been doing the same thing for years or if the change we desire causes temporary turmoil. What matters is that we live our lives authentically and in ways that bring us satisfaction and joy. We are the only ones who can create happiness in our lives. We know what we want most of all and we can let go of anything that prevents us from achieving it. We can drive forward leaving what doesn’t work in the rear view mirror. Our lives are ours to design our own way. If others disagree we can still do what is best for us. We can move forward and leave the past behind. We have all the wisdom and courage to make the decisions we need to be completely happy and fulfilled.

Routines make us feel comfortable and if we do the same things every day we may feel secure because the scenery doesn’t change. Routines are great for sameness but not effective if we want to grow and stretch. We can’t discover how far we can go if we stay in the same place day after day. There are limitless things we could do with our lives and endless experiences we could enjoy but we must be open to new things and willing to step away from the norm. We can try something new and stretch beyond where we are today.

When our relationships with others are difficult and we feel restricted it’s hard to express who we really are. When others have expectations of what we’ll do or how we’ll act and we comply with their desires we may get along for a time. We may be able to go through the motions but eventually our true selves will push forward and we’ll need to change. Who we really are is precious and valuable. We don’t have to fit in, we don’t have to pretend, and we can genuinely be our best selves. Nobody could possibly design a better fit for us than who we already are. We can share that and be truly happy. The uniqueness and individuality we bring is priceless and a gift no one else can bring.

Today if you’re in a situation that isn’t where you want to be or going along with something that isn’t what you really want to do, reframe your way forward. You can be yourself and choose a path that reflects what you want most. You are unique and wonderful just as you are. Leave the games behind and be yourself. You are a gift to the world and your uniqueness blesses us all.
