Where Are You?

18 Apr

In this day and age of technological advancements, it seems there are screens everywhere. We have our iphones, ipads, laptops, and every other conceivable device to keep us “connected,” whatever that means. It’s fine to use whatever tools we need when we have things to do but if we become so dependent on our devices that we can’t set them down, we may create problems for ourselves. If we’re constantly staring at a screen, it will be impossible to be completely effective in our personal lives. And if we let them interfere with our personal relationships, we may create uncomfortable complications we could avoid. If we’re having lunch with a friend or family member and continually watch our phones, or continue to text others, we may alienate and offend those we’re with. It’s impossible to be in two places at the same time. What is possible is to physically be in one place and mentally be in another, and the place in our head will actually be where we are. We can’t have meaningful connections with people we ignore, or engage in conversations in person at the same time as we’re engaging in the virtual world. We must decide what’s most important and where we really want to be. If we only engage in virtual connections, our in-person skills will suffer. It’s demeaning and disrespectful to expect others to wait around while we talk to someone else on-line. We decide where we want to be every moment of every day. Our personal connections are important. We’ll find great happiness and satisfaction when we value them enough to give them the attention they need and the time they deserve. Nothing is more valuable than our interpersonal relationships. We can control our choices to ensure we show how much they mean to us by caring for them and honoring them.

We’re often busy and when there’s a lot going on and someone wants to see us, we may ask them to wait a moment until we can give them the time they need. Most people are patient and will wait, but if we continually push them off because we’re distracted with one thing after another, they may give up and decide to move on. The valuable information and beneficial guidance they may have offered us will be lost if we’re unable to effectively govern how we spend our time.

Life rushes by in a flash. Every single day is a blessing and by focusing on where we are in each moment, we’ll get the most out of them. Being where we are instead of mentally checking out to someplace else will enrich our lives in deep and profound ways. Nothing is more important than this moment. We can take control of our lives and choose to live here and now, and find great satisfaction and happiness.

Today if you’ve been distracted by all the screens and technology around you, remember you only have this one day. Yesterday is gone and there are no guarantees for tomorrow. You are an incredible gift to the world. Share your life in-person with those around you and live fully in this moment, and every happiness and success will be yours.

All Alone

16 Apr

When we want to accomplish something difficult, it’s helpful to have the support of those around us. When our friends and family back our ideas and cheer us on, we feel stronger and bolstered up when the road gets hard. It’s great to have others on our side, especially when we’re struggling or are up against complications, but it doesn’t always happen. There may be times we want to do something that those around us either don’t agree with or don’t think we can accomplish. If they’re concerned about us failing, they may try to dissuade us from pursuing the goal or even stand in our way when we try to push forward. Everyone has their own opinions and we won’t always agree, but we don’t need anyone’s permission to go after something we want. It would be great to get agreement and support, but if not, we can stand alone and go our own way. Our lives are ours to design and we don’t have to go along with anyone else’s ideas of what we should do. Every road is open and the possibilities are endless. We can swim upstream or take a new direction any time we choose. If we must go alone, we can. Nothing can keep us from any goal we desire. It doesn’t matter if nobody else understands what we’re doing or why we’re doing it. We’re all unique and every personal expression is valuable. Nobody knows us better than we know ourselves. We know what we want and can pursue anything we desire even if others don’t agree. We have all the wisdom, stamina, and insight we need to accomplish anything. The whole world is there for us. Nothing can keep us from success and every dream is possible.

Staying in the same routines and doing the same things every day may make us feel safe. It’s easy to live a predictable life and stay within the lines we understand. But there are unlimited experiences awaiting us and we can step forward and try something new. Our lives are only as small as we make them. We’re capable of doing great things and if we trust ourselves to reach further, will accomplish goals we never thought possible. We can do anything we desire. Nothing is too far away or too difficult for us to manage. The lives we dream of are always waiting for us and with confidence and determination we can make them ours.

Just because something hasn’t been done before doesn’t mean it’s not possible. We can accomplish more than we imagine and if we trust ourselves and push forward will achieve greatness. We are only restricted by our own choices. Every option is possible and we can go anywhere and do anything. We have all the courage and wisdom we need to find the way ahead and make the goal ours. We can have the lives we want by stepping forward and choosing the roads that will bring us success.

Today if you want to do something and nobody else agrees, remember your life is yours to design. You have everything you need to accomplish anything you desire. You can stand alone and reach the goal. Step forward and claim the life you want. Every blessing is there for you and with patience and determination, you will succeed.

Waiting for Luck

10 Apr

We’re always in control of our lives. We decide what we’ll do, where we’ll go, with whom we’ll associate and how we’ll live. Every decision we make defines who we are. We can make excellent decisions and each time we choose we determine the road ahead. When we know what we want and the options are clear, it’s easy to choose but sometimes the waters are muddy and seeing exactly where the choice will take us isn’t obvious. Not every decision is easy and sometimes we may have no idea what we should do. We may hesitate, or if we’re completely lost, just wait around and hope somehow, we’ll get lucky and it’ll work out by itself. Waiting for luck to save us rarely works. We must decide. Some decisions can be pushed aside and might even eventually fade away on their own, but that’s unusual. If we’re stuck and unsure, we can review everything and choose the best option possible. It might work out the way we want it to, or it might go awry, but whatever happens, we’ll find our way through. We can’t read the future and must proceed with the information we have. If there’s more to the story, or things unfold in ways we couldn’t predict, even if we’ve chosen well, we may end up somewhere we never intended to go. We only have control over ourselves and there are always unseen developments that may hinder our plans. We don’t need luck to find our way. We have everything necessary to make good choices and can modify our plans when needed. Success is always possible and nothing can keep us from getting to our goals.

When we take the first step on any path, we also choose the destination it takes us to. That’s fine if we can see where the road will end, but that isn’t always possible. We may start out thinking the end result will be one thing and then discover as we move forward that we’re nowhere near where we thought we were headed. Life is filled with unexpected surprises and when the road bends we may have to turn around and start again. With determination, focus and patience, we can go anywhere and reach any destination.

When we have to make a difficult decision and none of the options are appealing, instead of working the problem, we may decide it’s too hard and set it aside. We might hope if we leave it alone long enough, someone else will take care of it. We may have to overcome many difficult and unpleasant tasks. Working through them and learning to find resolutions will bring us great knowledge and benefit. We gain wisdom with each challenge we overcome and learn more about ourselves and the world around us. Instead of looking away, we can address each issue as it arises, confident we’ll find the answers we need and prevail.

Today if don’t want to face a difficult decision before you, remember how capable and strong you are. There isn’t anything you can’t figure out. You don’t need luck to save you. You already possess everything needed for success. Look at the situation clearly and choose the best path forward. You are amazing and powerful, and nothing is too difficult for you to manage. Be confident. You know what to do and you will win.

Done and Moving On

5 Apr

Done

While we’re going through our days accomplishing tasks, tending to responsibilities, and reaching our goals, our desires are constantly changing. What we wanted last year that held us captive but may not even be in our focus anymore. We change as we go and each step teaches us more about what we want and where we want to go. As we mature and evolve, things that previously seemed important may fade and we might decide to completely change direction. Our lives are always ours to design and no matter what’s happening, we can always redirect our course toward a new path. Sometimes while we’re pursuing a goal, complications arise that cannot be overcome and we have to stop and do something else. Other times as we get nearer to our destination, we may see it’s not exactly like we thought it would be and decide not to continue. If we’re suddenly done with the road we’ve been traveling, we can step off and begin on something new. Life is always changing and we never know what tomorrow will bring. We can be flexible and turn our direction at any time. Every dream is possible but some dreams look different the closer we get. We don’t have to hold onto something simply because we’ve had it for a while. We can let go and start again. There are endless roads and possibilities awaiting us, and nothing is out of reach. We can have the lives we want by staying true to what is most important. Every destination is possible and with clarity, focus and determination, we can choose the best path going forward.

There are a lot of people coming and going, in and out of our lives all the time. We build relationships with them and if they’re very close they may have some impact on the decisions we make. If we decide on a change in our lives, and they either don’t agree with us or don’t understand what we’re doing, they may try to dissuade us from proceeding. We can listen to any advice we like and certainly take suggestions about the road ahead, but we don’t need permission to go anywhere. We’re wise enough to know what we want, and smart enough to achieve it.

It’s nice to do things with others and when everyone is going one way, we can certainly join in. But the direction our lives take is completely up to us. If we don’t want to continue with the group, we can step away and take another road. Sometimes the goal we want can only be accomplished by ourselves. We’re strong enough to do anything and can go anywhere we desire. We can step forward with determination and wisdom, and be confident we will succeed.

Today if you’ve decided the road you’re on is taking you somewhere you no longer want to go, change direction. You can do anything and changing your mind doesn’t mean you’ve failed. Every road is open and ready for you. Decide what you want the most and start again. Be confident. You are strong and wise, and can accomplish anything you desire. Nothing is out of reach and you can have the life you dream of.

Tightrope Walking

3 Apr

Every day we face new situations and make many decisions. We never know what will happen next and even if we try to avoid calamity, nevertheless there will be times when it will find us. We can’t control what anyone else does or circumstances we don’t know about, and all we can do is try to make the best decisions possible that won’t tangle us up and make things difficult. Sometimes that’s easy and we feel confident we’re doing our best but if we’re under the influence of someone else, we might choose a path that doesn’t take us where we want to go. If someone we love or care about pressures us to go along with something we don’t feel comfortable with, or that’s dishonest or underhanded in any way, and we succumb, we may find ourselves walking a tightrope between doom and disaster. Maybe not doom exactly, but certainly not where we want to be. Our personal connections can be very powerful and we might agree to a negative situation in an effort to show support even if it’s not something we want to do. We’re always in control of what we do, and can certainly choose any path we like. If we follow someone else into the fire, we have only ourselves to blame when the flames get hot. It’s not easy to say no when someone we care about is pressuring us, but we’re always responsible for every choice we make, regardless of the circumstances. Despite any relationship situation, we can be polite and understanding, and still choose the best road forward. Making choices that are in keeping with our standards and values isn’t selfish. Our lives and what we do with them are up to us. We can have the lives we want the most by choosing wisely and taking the roads that lead us to success.

Everyone has their own ideas about what’s right and how things should go. We can always change our views on anything, but if there’s something we feel strongly about and someone else is trying to push us in another direction, what we choose is up to us. We never need to go along with anything we don’t agree with or that makes us uncomfortable. It doesn’t matter what others are doing, we can go our own way. We know ourselves better than anyone and can choose what we want and what we need.

People can be very persuasive when they want something badly. We may be asked to compromise our personal values in order to help someone else achieve some goal they desire. Once we step over the line away from our personal integrity, we set a new course in action. After that door is opened, it will be easier to do it again. If we continue to sacrifice our values, we will inevitably become someone else entirely. Every choice we make takes us somewhere. Where we go is up to us. If we are strong in our convictions to stay true to who we are, the paths we choose will that take us where we most want to be.

Today if you’re being pressured to do something you don’t feel comfortable with, choose what defines who you are. You know how to make excellent decisions. Determine the road forward and stay true to yourself. You are an incredible gift to the world. Be strong and stand tall. Choose the best path ahead and you will succeed.
