Order Up

When we go into a restaurant for a meal, we may take our time going over the menu. There are often many possibilities and we can choose anything we like. When the waiter comes to the table for our order, we can make our request and get exactly what we want. We can’t expect things to go well if we simply shake our heads and say we have no idea what we want, and ask them to decide for us. Maybe we’ll get that delicious burger we were looking at, or we might get a bowl of oatmeal. Because we let someone else choose, we’ll have no idea until it arrives. It’s unlikely we’d ever do such a thing in a restaurant, but we might be doing exactly that in our lives. If we aren’t in control of where we’re headed, and just go along with what others are doing, not choosing our own destinations, we are letting the world decide what our lives will be like. It’s easy to coast through our days and just go along with whatever is happening around us. We can leave all the important decisions up to someone else, and just take what comes. We might find happiness, or we might not. If that’s all our lives mean to us, it’s an easy option. But we’re important and deserve complete happiness. We can reach any goal we desire and go anywhere we want but we have to take control of our lives to make that happen. Being a passenger on someone else’s journey will never take us to the destinations we desire most. We can do anything but we must choose for ourselves and be in charge of how we live our lives. Every option is possible and nothing is too far to reach. We can step up and determine what we want the most, and then do what is needed to get it.

Ride alongs during new experiences can be fun. We learn new things about others and see the world through their eyes. It’s nice to share experiences and we can spend our days following others around and watching everything they’re doing. But if we want our own unique and incredible lives, we must chart our own course forward. We can decide what we want and begin moving forward to achieve it. We are capable and strong, and nothing is too difficult for us to manage.

It’s easy to stay on the same road indefinitely. We know what to expect, we know where it leads, and we feel safe. Foreign, uncharted roads can be intimidating, but they offer new experiences that will deepen our understanding of life and give us unlimited options for growth. A new road is only new until we make it ours. We can push forward into the unknown toward a goal we desire, and with each step we’ll gain confidence and clarity. Every destination is possible, and we have all the courage and determination we need to go anywhere we desire.

Today if you’ve been taking a back seat to your dreams and following others around, think about what you really want. There isn’t anything you can’t do. Be confident. Decide where you want to go and take the first step onto a new road. Your life is yours to design. Fill it with your dreams and you’ll find great happiness and satisfaction.

Losing It

Life is complex and every minute of every day can bring something we never expected or that upends our plans and changes everything. There is no way to know what will happen next or who may enter our lives and turn our ideas inside out. Something may arise that stops us cold and requires us to adjust everything we’re doing. We may wonder how this could happen, but we only have control over ourselves, and there are always a lot of unknowns. Sometimes when we’re trying to move forward, situations or decisions get in the way and keep us from advancing. We can get mad, pitch a fit, scream at those involved, and lose all self-control in an effort to stop the situation. We may feel better after venting our anger and frustration, but it’s unlikely that losing our self-control will help anything, or bring us any answers. Disappointments will come and when they do it’s far better to step back and take a moment to process what’s happened and think about how we can still reach our goal. There are unlimited roads available and many of them will lead to the destinations we desire. If one is suddenly closed off and no longer possible, we can find another. We might not be able to do it in our original time frame, and we may have to go the long way around to get there, but success is still possible. Losing control of our emotions and blasting those around us when things change will only delay us from finding the answers we need. We don’t need any additional delays and by thinking clearly, taking a deep breath, and allowing ourselves time to see all the options available, we can continue to move forward.

When something develops that threatens what we’re doing, our first response might be to deny it’s happening. If we’re averse to conflict, we might ignore the signals that things are changing and out of our control. Looking away from things that are difficult doesn’t change anything and prevents us from finding the answers we need to manage what’s happening. We can’t hide from developments and expect to process them at the same time. We have all the wisdom and strength we need to face whatever comes, and find all the answers we need.

A change in direction is just that – a change in direction. It doesn’t mean we can’t succeed or that any goal is impossible to reach. It may be difficult to accept and we may struggle to understand, but we can still move forward. If we get angry and upset, our ability to think clearly will diminish. We can’t find solutions if we’re losing our minds over something unexpected. We know what we want and if we stop and look around, we’ll find a way to achieve it. Nothing is beyond our reach and no matter what happens, we can succeed.

Today if a wrench has been suddenly thrown into your plans and you’re thrown off course, remain calm and see what’s possible. Every road is available and you will find the way forward. You are amazing and powerful, and can do anything you desire. Make a new plan and step forward. Every success is there for you and you will prevail.

Bringing the Light

We face lots of ups and downs, victories and disappointments, and endless developments each day of our lives. Nothing is certain and few things are guaranteed. We can’t read the future and there is no way to predict what will happen next. There are decisions being made by others around us that may impact our choices, and developments occurring constantly that may get in our way. Sometimes no matter how hard we try or how well we plan, the lights go out and we get stuck. When things get dark and we’re unsure about what to do next, it can be hard to find the steps forward. Do we give up on the goal and surrender to defeat, turn around and go back, or try to keep pressing forward despite what’s happened? Darkness can be overpowering. When we can’t see ahead and there is no way to tell which way we should go, we can feel disoriented and lost. But we never need to panic because no matter how bleak it seems or how dark it gets, we have all the light we need inside us. Nothing can completely extinguish the wisdom and power we carry with us every moment. We may lose our footing for a time, and we may get turned around trying to find the way forward, but everything we need to succeed is already there. When the darkness comes, we can always bring the light. We have it with us continually, no matter where we are or what comes. All the answers we need are there and with confidence and clarity we will find them. There will never be a time so dark and shadowy that we get lost forever. We always have the light we need and can call on our personal wisdom and intellect to find the way ahead. Nothing is powerful enough to hold us in place. We are capable and strong, and can do anything we desire.

Just when we feel we’ve got things figured out, something may happen that changes everything. It’s not always easy to modify our plans and if the turn is severe, we may believe we can’t succeed. But there are countless roads to every destination and we are smart enough to find them. We may have to change direction, or backtrack and start again, but nothing can keep us from success.

Young trees are able to bend and flex when strong winds arise. As they grow, they become more solid and if their branches become very stiff, when the winds blow, they may break. If we are immovable in our choices and refuse to bend when problems arise, we may be unable to progress. Holding fast to our first choice and refusing to alter our course when things change may keep us in place and prevent us from reaching the goal. We can be flexible and embrace new ideas when we get stuck and with patience and perseverance, continue forward. Every success is possible and we have everything we need to prevail.

Today if things have gotten dark and cloudy and you’re not sure about how to proceed, all the answers you need are already there for you. Trust yourself and the road ahead will open. All the light you need is there inside you. Pull on it, draw from it, and step forward. You are powerful and strong, and nothing will keep you from success.

Vertical World

There are endless opportunities all around us every day. We can do anything we like and go to unlimited locations. When we look around, there is always something new to see. There are others sharing the journey with us, and endless experiences waiting to be enjoyed. However, if we only have our eyes trained on the road ahead, we may miss them. It’s good to be focused and determined to move forward, and we can accomplish a lot by staying true to the road we’re on. If we want to be the first, the best, the fastest, or the most successful, we may only look for ways to move us closer to the goal. Being competitive and eager may push us forward but as we’re advancing, it may be hard to think of anything but the road ahead. We may hold tight to an invisible vertical line that points straight to the destination we desire and fail to notice anything else. If we don’t waver, odds are we’ll succeed in our endeavors, but as with everything in life, there will be trade-offs. We may miss connections with those around us, the companionship of working together, and the chance to learn from those who are walking beside us. Staying in a vertical world will limit our ability to gain knowledge from those with experiences we desire, or build relationships that may open doors for us in the future. Every dream is possible and we certainly have everything we need to prevail at anything we want to do. Allowing others to share the road with us, and learning from their experiences may provide much valuable information and insight. Nobody knows everything. We can strive for success and still reach out to those beside us. The relationships we build and the companionship we share will make the journey easier and more rewarding. Every success is possible and we can achieve anything we desire. Allowing others to join us moving forward will bring great satisfaction and fulfillment.

The fastest way to get from point A to point B is a straight line. Everyone understands this, but rarely in our lives will it be possible to travel in them. Most of the time the road bends, there are detours, construction, and things in the way. We can always modify our direction to get around whatever is blocking the road ahead, and when we do, we learn new things and see new places. We can reach every destination but we may not reach it exactly when we planned. Learning to be flexible and alter our course when needed will help us find the success we desire.

There is no time frame for success. We may set a deadline for completing something and do everything in our power to make sure we get everything done, and still we may be diverted along the way. A delay isn’t a failure. If things get backed up and we can’t move forward, we can look at all the options possible and find another way. There will always be another road and nothing can keep us from reaching our goals.

Today if you’ve been focusing only on the way forward and have kept your eyes on each step ahead, remember those around you. Look beside you and extend yourself to others. Success will come. There is great happiness waiting for you. Share the journey with others, and together you will prevail.

Terminal

People make all kinds of decisions as they go through their lives. If the choices are inconsequential, chances are others won’t be impacted. But if they are serious, and far reaching, may cause heartburn and difficulty for those around them. We’re all more connected to each other than we may realize. If we choose something that affects not only our lives, but the lives of others, it may alter our relationships with them. We’re in control of our lives and can do anything we like, but if we only see ourselves as we move ahead, our decisions may cause problems for others. We aren’t responsible for anyone else’s life but our own, but every step we take and every decision we make will take us somewhere. If we do something that causes serious pain or harm to those around us, we may terminally break our connection with them. It’s difficult to stay involved with someone who brings trouble into our lives. It may take considerable effort and time to look at all the possibilities that may arise when making a big decision. If we don’t take the time we need to ensure we’re taking the best steps forward and instead jump to the easiest possible option, we may end up somewhere we never intended to go. Our relationships are important and the connections we build help us achieve our goals. Burning bridges behind us because we carelessly chose the easiest path ahead can only work against us. We are wise enough to choose well and can make excellent decisions. We can take our time, weigh all the options before us, and move forward with confidence, preserving the network we’ve built and ensuring the best outcomes. Every possibility is there for us and with patience and determination we can find the best road ahead.

Some people fly by the seat of their pants. They make snap decisions without taking time to see what may happen after the choice has been made. If they end up in a mess – which may often be the case – they may blame those around them or influences that they couldn’t control. We’re all responsible for every choice we make. There is no way to push accountability onto someone else. Every destination we desire is possible and we have everything we need to choose the best road forward.

There may be times when we must choose something that will hurt someone else. Sometimes there are no easy answers to the questions before us. If we evaluate all the options and choose the best possible scenario, we can manage any collateral damage that may occur. We can reach out and help those whose lives are impacted negatively, and help them work through any complications that arise. Life can be complex and sometimes things don’t come easily. But we are strong and capable, and can manage any situation we must.

Today if you’ve been hurt by someone else’s decision and can’t find the way forward, take the time you need to evaluate all the options possible. You can achieve anything you desire. There are many roads to every destination, and you can chart a new course. Nothing is beyond your reach. Every success is possible and you will prevail.
