One Moment

29 Jul

Life is filled with unexpected situations. We never know what will happen next, and we may be surprised by something that suddenly challenges and tests us. There may be an uncomfortable ethical issue that arises out of nowhere and we have to choose between being completely honest or going along with something we don’t agree with. We may face a test of our strength as problem after problem arises and we’re underwater trying to find the way out. Nobody can read the future and no matter how hard we try to make excellent decisions, moments of difficulty will come. What we do when they show up will determine what happens as we move forward. If the issue is ethical and we fold because someone more powerful than us demands it, we may be very disappointed in ourselves and our lack of courage. If the road ahead gets very hard and we give up and let go of our goals because we don’t want to walk through the fire, we will never reach the destinations we most desire. One moment, one decision, can change the course or our lives but all is not lost. No matter what’s happened already or what we’ve done, we can go back and start again. We may not be able to recreate the exact situation or change the outcome of a bad decision, but we can amend our actions moving forward and ensure that what we’re doing matches who we really are. Life can be complicated and hard, and we’ll all face times of uncertainty and worry. But we are stronger and more powerful than we imagine, and are in control of everything we do. We don’t have to bend to bullying, and we don’t have to go along. We’re entitled to our own opinions and decisions, and with clarity and wisdom, will choose the right path.

Bad decisions can have serious consequences. If we do something that moves us forward but betrays our company or our associates, we may never be able to regain their trust. If we lie and cheat on a lover, we may lose the relationship. Everything we do brings some sort of result, and what that is depends on what we’ve done. If we only see ourselves and are only concerned with our own success, we may betray everyone in our path and walk over them to win. We can do anything we like, but our connections with others are important. If we pave the road ahead with deception and distrust, it will be impossible to build good relationships and alliances as we move ahead. We may believe we don’t need them, and maybe we don’t, but life has a way of looping around and we may find at some point the very bridge we need is one we’ve already burned.

Nobody is perfect and we’re all going to falter at some point. If we make a bad choice or choose the wrong road we may get stuck for a time as we try to figure out how to correct our course. Nothing is permanent and everything can be changed, but whatever we’ve done may color opportunities until we’re able to reset and rebuild. There is greatness in all of us. If we lose our way, we can find it again. If we make a wrong turn, we can stop and start over. Nothing is out of reach if we’re willing to do what is necessary to make it ours. Every single goal is possible and we can reach them all.

Today remember that mistakes never define who we are. If you’re on the wrong road, you can turn around and begin again. No matter what’s happened, every success is still possible. Think about what you really want, trust yourself and start again. You are wise and capable, and nothing is too far away or too difficult for you to reach. Be strong and step forward. Every blessing awaits, and you will claim them all.

Staying Down

30 Aug

We share the world with billions of other people, and although we’ll never meet even a small fraction of them, there will likely be others around us much of the time. We work with them, pass them as we go from one place to the next, and interact with them on a regular basis. We try to get along and avoid conflict, but sometimes we may get into a situation where things go wrong and we find ourselves in the middle of a serious disagreement that may have lasting negative consequences. We might get knocked down in the struggle, and if we do, we’ll have to decide if we’re going to stand back up and face the trouble, or stay down and wait. Whatever decision we make will determine what happens next. If we believe in our position, and feel confident we are right, we may jump back up and continue on. But if we’re unsure, and those around us seem stronger and more powerful than we are, we may decide to lay low until things settle down. In the midst of intense conflict it may be difficult to get our point across and waiting may be wise. Every situation is different and we’ll have to use serious judgement to determine how best to proceed. Our views are important, and just because someone else is louder and more forceful than we are, doesn’t mean we can’t be heard. With patience and careful consideration, we can decide the best road forward. All voices are important, and when the time is right, we can step forward and express our views with confidence and clarity. We are intelligent and capable, and can stand firm even in conflict. We know who we are and what we want. Our ideas, thoughts and suggestions are valuable, and when we’re ready, we can share them openly and move forward toward success.

People are complicated and complex. What one believes is absolutely, positively the right thing to do, another may completely disagree. We all want harmony and good will in our interactions, and many times that will be our experience. But there are endless roads to every destination, and the road we choose may not appeal to those around us. If we must agree, we can find a compromise that includes everyone’s point of view and allows for success. We are smart enough to find the way through, no matter how convoluted or twisted the road becomes. Every destination is possible, and with courage, and patience, we’ll find our way to them all.

If we’re headed to a destination by ourselves, we can choose any road we like. We can simply pick the direction we want to go and step forward. However, if others are going with us, and have different ideas about how to get there, our opinion will only be one of many. Learning to be flexible and listen to other viewpoints isn’t always easy, but it will help pave the road ahead. By giving a little and compromising on how we proceed, we’ll build strong connections with those around us, and ensure success. There isn’t anything we can’t do and do well. We are amazing and wise, and will find the best answers.

Today if there is conflict and disagreement, decide on the best way to manage it. Listen carefully to all the views presented, and offer your perspective with patience and grace. Be open to new roads and options. You are so smart, and nothing is too difficult for you to manage. Every road is open. Success is always there for you, and you will find your way to any destination you desire.

Everyone Else

27 Feb

We live in a time bombarded with information. With a single touch we can open ports to endless facts, opinions, and unlimited ideas about every possible subject. It’s good to be able to find data and clues when we need them, but it’s possible to get overloaded and distracted when there is so much available. We can read unending comments and opinions from people we don’t know and probably will never meet, and if we want to, could spend all our time learning about everyone else’s ideas and thoughts. If we constantly tune into what others are saying, and spend our time reading about what they think and what they’re doing, it may leave little time for us to actually live our own lives. We can’t be in two places at the same time. If we spend hours reading about others and their lives, we lose the opportunity to get up and live our own. We can’t focus on our own personal desires and goals while we’re reading about someone else’s. Our lives are important and priceless, and deserve our attention. There are endless goals we can achieve, and incredible destinations waiting for us. We can take control, monitor our time with everyone else, and ensure we do what’s most important to us. We can have the lives we dream about if we plan for them and then do what is needed to achieve them. Instead of focusing on all the interesting things others are doing, we can turn our sights forward toward the goals we most want to achieve. There is great happiness ahead and nothing can hold us in place. All our dreams are possible and we can do anything.

Notoriety can give a false sense of importance. Just because someone is well-known or famous doesn’t necessarily mean their opinions and ideas are germane to our lives. Everyone has their own version of how they think life should go, and there is not one perfect way to live. A big microphone allows people to share their voice with many others, but it doesn’t mean they have all the answers. We can listen to any advice given, and then choose our own way forward. We know what we want and where we want to go. We can trust ourselves to find the best road ahead toward the destinations we desire most.

Our personal perceptions of life reflect the experiences we’ve had and the understanding we’ve gained about the world around us. Therefore, one person’s interpretation about how things are will be different from someone else’s. Differences don’t mean one is right and one is wrong. There are endless ways to view the same ideas and situations. All have value, and express our individualism. We can choose the kind of lives we want, and then make decisions that bring them to us. Every opportunity is there for us, and everything is possible. We can go anywhere and do anything, and with determination will reach success.

Today if you’ve been listening to everyone else’s ideas about what you should do and how you should live, trust yourself. You already know what you want, and have everything you need to achieve it. Every road is there for you and you can do anything. Decide what you want, and then go get it. Success is waiting, and you will reach it.

The Choice is Yours

24 Oct

We all have the ability to make whatever decisions we choose.  We can direct our lives and decide which roads we want to take.  But sometimes those close to us or those with authority over us have different ideas about what we should do.  They may voice their opinions and hope we’ll change our minds, and if we don’t may bring pressure to bear until we give in.  We may ultimately choose a path we don’t want because it’s important to someone we care about, or we are forced because of circumstance, or we are tired of the disagreement and just want to move forward even if it’s in a direction we haven’t chosen.  We may give up trying to explain our point of view and simply take the path we’re pressured to take.  Sometimes those choices will work out and sometimes we’ll end up somewhere we don’t want to be and will have to backtrack and find our way again.  We all have personal inspiration about our lives and we know what’s best for us.  Even if everyone else thinks we should go one way, we can still choose the path we determine we need to take.  It isn’t comfortable to be in conflict with those around us but if we are steadfast and respectful of our differences we may proceed with confidence and in time the conflict will resolve.

When we follow along with decisions we haven’t chosen and things go well we may feel great relief and learn new things that help us going forward.  There are limitless paths we can travel and if we end up on foreign territory we may feel unsettled and unsure.  But each step we take moves us forward and if we are headed to the goal we’re seeking, even if it’s in a different direction than we would have chosen, we will find success.  We never know what we don’t know and sometimes those around us have more information and can see more clearly going forward.  If we are following along we will find new experiences as we go and once the goal is reached our understanding of the situation will be enriched.  Sometimes it doesn’t matter which way we travel as long as we reach the right destination.

However, sometimes after agreeing to take a path we didn’t choose things go wrong.  There may be difficult complications we may have avoided or roadblocks that require us to start again and again.  It’s easy at times like that to imagine our choice would have been better but the fact is, we are living our choice.  If we decide to go along with someone else’s ideas instead of our own, we choose to take what comes.  We have all the power we need to direct our lives and we own every decision we make.  If we go along with others and things go badly we own the road just as much as those who pressured us into taking it.  We can be honest about our part in the decision no matter what happens.  If things go wrong we can work to find the right direction and correct our course.

Today if you’re being pressured to go one way and you want to go another you may make the decision that is best for you.  You may choose your own path or go along with something else.  But remember the decision is yours.  Use your best judgment and choose the path that’s best for you.  You have everything you need to find success.
