Festering and Ready

13 Apr

When everything is going right in our lives the road ahead is easy to travel.  Things line up the way we want them to and there are fewer complications as we sail through without delay.  But things will inevitably go wrong and when they do may block our path.  If the situation is painful or complex, instead of addressing it, we might decide to set it aside, try to ignore it and find another road forward.  When we tuck something away that needs our attention we may be able to hold it down for a time but if it’s important it will fester while it waits and may grow in intensity.  Like a festering wound we may be able to hold the infection at bay for a time but eventually it will grow and cause enough pain to make us acknowledge it and take care of it.  When we have personal issues that cannot work themselves out on their own, if we want to move forward we will have to address them.  If we continue to ignore them, they will continue to grow and fester and reach a point where they interfere with our happiness.  We deserve to be happy and doing things that keep us from complete and full happiness will never bring us what we really want.  Trying to hold back problems that need our attention is wasted energy that does nothing for our personal growth.  We have enough courage and intelligence to look at any issue openly and find a resolution.  Every blessing we desire is possible.  We can face any situation that is holding us back, do what is needed to resolve it, and move forward with confidence.  There is no need to look away when things get complicated.  We are capable and strong enough to manage anything and find success.

Conflict is a normal part of life.  Sometimes it’s easy to navigate and we simply solve the issue and move on but when it gets intense and complicated we may be tempted to escape instead of face it.  If we run away from a situation without resolving it, things will never improve.  As we wait, the situation may escalate and when we’re finally ready to see it, things may be far more intense than if we’d faced it at the beginning.  Problems don’t generally disappear on their own.  It’s better to be open to everything as it happens and find the answers we need when they first begin.  We know how to find answers and nothing is too complicated for us solve.

There are a lot of distractions all around us and it’s easy to look away from serious situations and get involved in other activities that keep us busy and away from issues we don’t want to face.  Denial is an effective tool to help us look away but it never works for long and in the end the problem we avoid will return and require our attention. We can stand strong in the face of trouble, see what is before us, and find all the answers we need.

Today if there is a situation you dread and don’t want to face, step forward and look at it openly.  See everything as it is and determine to solve the problem.  All the answers are there for you and you have all the wisdom and patience you need to find them.  You have everything you need to resolve any issue.  You are capable and strong and nothing is out of reach.  Be confident and sure, and go forward toward success.

Starting Over

2 Jan

Every day we have the opportunity to change anything we desire in our lives. If there is something we don’t want to continue doing, someplace or situation we want to leave, or anything else we want to modify, the chance is always there for us. Sometimes we feel the need to change simply because we want something new or what we’re doing isn’t making us happy. Other times, outside events trigger the impetus to move in a new direction. The beginning of a new year, the end of a job or relationship, a move to a new location or many other events may prepare us to turn our lives toward something new. We have unlimited chances to change anything we desire and when we’re ready the process of modification and adjustment can begin. There are no limitations on what we can do and we need not stay on any road that isn’t taking us where we want to go. Change is always possible. We can define the changes we want to make and then do what is needed to make them a reality. Nothing is out of reach. We can do anything we truly desire and create the lives we want most. We are always in control of our decisions and no matter what is happening around us or what influences press us, we can choose any path we desire. We have all the control and wisdom needed to do anything. Once we decide where we want to go and what we want to do, we can change direction and move toward success. Life is an incredible blessing and can be fulfilling and satisfying. Everything is in our power. There isn’t anything we can’t do.

Sometimes we may end up in situations and patterns that don’t work for us. Perhaps we adopt behaviors that become routine but aren’t taking us where we want to go. Maybe we continue something that confounds our ability to achieve a personal goal, or someone depends on us too much and the time we spend with them keeps us from doing what we need to move forward in our own lives. Or we find ourselves caught up in someone else’s complications and problems in ways that keep us from our own focus. There are endless distractions around us but we can manage our time effectively and keep our eyes focused on what we really want.

There is no one right way to live life. We can design our lives any way we desire and work toward any goal we choose. We can honor traditions and still live our lives in ways that express our own individuality. No matter how long we’ve been doing something one way, we can start over and begin again on a new path. We are free to choose anything we desire and nothing can prevent us from achieving success. Life is long and we have all the chances we need to create the lives we want the most.

Today if you feel like you need to start over and change your direction, look ahead and choose the path that will take you where you most want to go. Make decisions based on the success you desire and move forward with courage. You have everything you need to achieve anything. Nothing is too difficult for you and you will reach any destination you desire. All your dreams can come true. Start today and move forward with confidence. Everything is there for you and you will reach it.

Doing Well

29 Jul

As we go through our lives there are countless things to do.  We have responsibilities to our families, our jobs, ourselves, our homes, our cars, and the list is endless.  There is always something to do.  We have tasks, and chores, and details that seemingly never end.  We’re busy much of the time, and when there is a lot to do we may try to finish quickly by cutting corners.  We might try to do the minimum required to get the job done so we can move on.  Sometimes that works and we get by, but other times it ends up causing us more issues to fix later.  We can rush, and we can cut all the corners we want, but in the end if we haven’t done the best we could do, it may come back to bite us.

There is a saying, “Any job worth doing is worth doing well.”  There is great truth in that.  If we apply ourselves to our tasks and do them as well as we can, we will be happy with our performance, and we can move on with confidence.  There is little gratification found in rushing, and trying to just patch things through.  When we look back at a task we’ve done poorly because we tried to do it as quickly as possible, there is no sense of accomplishment.  However, there is great value in doing our tasks well.  And when we do them well, we know we’ve done our best.

In order to do our best, we need to focus.  Recent studies show that there really is no such thing as multi-tasking.  It turns out we can really only focus our attention on one thing at a time.  So if we want to do our tasks well, we need to zone in on one at a time, and make it a priority.  It may be something small, some errand we have to run or some menial chore that needs addressing, or it might be something really important.  Whatever it is, if we put our complete focus on it, and don’t try to do three other things at the same time, we will be happier with the result.  And in the end, a job done well done may prevent additional complications later.  And nobody needs more complications.

Today if you have a lot to do, and you’re rushing around trying to complete everything, try to focus on one task at a time.  You’ll get things done more effectively and because you have eliminated all the distractions, you’ll get them done more quickly.  Do one thing, and then move on to the next.  Before you know it you’ll have completed everything, and looking back you’ll be happy with what you’ve done.  Remember, “Any job worth doing is worth doing well.”  You can do everything well.  And when you do, you’ll be happy with the result.
