Beige Paint

There are billions of people on Earth, and each is individual. We all have our own ideas about what’s right and how things should go. Every choice is ours to make and if we make them honestly, staying true to who we really are, we have a better chance of getting the results we desire. But we share our lives with lots of other people, and some of them are strong willed and powerful. They may tell us what to do, where to go, and how they think we should live. If we’re timid and unsure, or lack self-confidence, and our choices differ, we may struggle to stand up and defend them. We might try to blend into the background to go unnoticed, and stay out of the way. By keeping our heads down and our eyes averted, we may think we’ll be overlooked. Beige paint is very neutral. It’s used a lot because it basically goes with everything. It doesn’t stand out, and is often just a plain background that few people notice. When we’re in uncomfortable situations with others, we can try to be like that – we can try to be beige paint. We might succeed in hiding, but ducking down and pretending we aren’t there will never help us reach our goals. We don’t have to fit into anyone else’s model or conform to any idea. We don’t have to shout, and get attention, but we can stand firm. We can show our true colors, red, blue, hot pink, or whatever, even if they don’t match what others are doing. Our gifts are ours alone to give, and we can express them in ways that are unique and specific to us. Beige paint has a place, but it doesn’t need to be part of who we are. The whole world is blessed by our presence, and we bring great light and variety to those around us. We can be confident in choosing our own road, and move forward toward any goal we desire.

It’s easy to work in a group when everyone has the same ideas and agrees on the same things. Conformity can pave the road ahead, but going along with others when we want something else rarely takes us where we want to go. Everyone has something to offer and insight nobody else possesses. By speaking up and sharing our thoughts with those around us, we will enrich everyone, and deepen our understanding.

There may be times when we have an idea but aren’t sure it’ll work out. What if we speak up and others think it’s stupid? What if they adopt our plan and it fails? Nothing in life is certain, and there will be times when things won’t go the way we want them to. But if we keep every idea to ourselves afraid that it might not work out, we’ll never get the chance to succeed. If the first plan falls apart, we can come up with another. There are many roads to every destination and with patience, and courage, we will find all the answers we need to reach success.

Today if you’ve been keeping a low profile, trying not to be noticed, remember you are important. Your ideas have value and you can present them with confidence. You have so much to offer. Speak up, and share your thoughts with those around you. Every success is possible, and with courage and determination, nothing can keep you from your goals. You are amazing and capable, and we’re all blessed because you are here.

Fresh Air

There are endless things we can accomplish as we move through our lives. The world is huge and there are millions of places to visit and much to see. Although there is lots of opportunity to do anything we want, we have responsibilities, and ties where we are may be hard to break. It’s easy to get into a routine of doing the same things every day and forget that there are unlimited experiences waiting for us. Our jobs, our families, our friends, and all that goes with them give us a great foundation, but they can also hold us in place. We can design our lives any way we like, and if we’re comfortable and content staying where we are, we can. But we are in control and if we want something more, it’s there for us. If we’re in a room that gets stuffy and close, we can open a door and let fresh air in. The same is true in our personal lives. If we’re in a rut and are ready from something different, we need only open a new door and let fresh, inviting new experiences into our lives. There are unlimited things we can do and places we can go. We are the only ones who can keep us from the lives we desire most. Once we decide what we really want, and then commit to doing what it takes to make it ours, we can do anything. Every single dream is possible and nothing is out of reach. The lives we fantasize about and wish for can be ours. There are lots of doors and endless roads to travel. We have all the courage and wisdom needed to do whatever we desire. We can take care of our needs, be responsible, and still move toward what we want. It’s all there for us. We need only step forward, and make it ours.

Tradition is powerful and if our families have done things a specific way for a long time, they may not be supportive if we want to change. Routines make life easy – we know what to do and pretty much know what to expect. Just because something has been done the same way for a while, doesn’t mean we must continue doing it. We are never restricted to any behavior or pattern. When we’re ready to move on to something new, the road will be there for us. Our lives belong to us, and we can live them any way we like. Every door can be opened, and we can find great happiness and success.

Nobody can read the future and it’s hard to see what lies ahead. Stepping toward a new goal may take us into foreign territory. When everything is new and unknown, we may feel unsure at first. But with each step forward, we will gain more confidence, and with determination, if we stay the course, we’ll reach the prize. We are stronger and more capable than we imagine. There isn’t anything powerful enough to keep us from what we want. We can trust ourselves, and go anywhere we desire.

Today if you’re ready to open a new door, decide what you want and take the first step. There are unlimited destinations waiting for you and you have everything you need to reach them. Trust yourself and be confident. There isn’t anything you can’t accomplish. Nothing can hold you in place, and you can have the life you desire. Every dream is possible, and with courage and determination, you will make them yours.

Thin Skin

There are all kinds of people in the world and they each have their own ideas about life and how things should go. We know who we are, and are sure about what we want and how we want to move forward. It’s easy to make friends and feel comfortable when those around us are like us. When they believe the same things we do, and understand our point of view, it’s easy to connect and build alliances. But the world is a big place, and people come from many diverse backgrounds. There will be many others who are vastly different than we are, and their views may be in direct opposition to what we believe is right. That does not make them wrong, or wicked, or less than us. It only makes them different. If we can’t tolerate anything outside our own ideas, it will be very difficult to interact with them. We are entitled to believe anything we desire and we can form our own opinions about everything in life. But if we’re so thin skinned we cannot tolerate anyone who is different, it may be difficult for us to get along. Some people say they “celebrate diversity” but when someone questions their ideas and presents an opposing view, they shut down or become angry. No two people are exactly the same. Everyone has their own perspective, and unless they are hurting others, each has value. We don’t have to adopt anything we don’t want, and can decide how we’ll live our own lives. We can be confident in our views, and strong enough to accept other points of view, even if we don’t understand or agree with them. Life is full of variety and variation. We can be welcoming and respect other points of view, and still hold onto to what is most important. Everyone has worth, and we can honor each individual, and still choose our own way forward.

When we’re growing up, what we experience in our families seems normal and right. As we mature, we begin to see other expressions and understand that our experience is unique to us and not universal. We can hold onto exactly what makes us comfortable and refuse to change, or we can embrace other points of view and allow them to enrich our understanding of the world around us. Holding on may feel comfortable, but will never allow us to expand our thinking and become more accepting.

Life would be easier if everyone was the same. If we were all on the same road with the same ideas, there would be less conflict and more harmony. That may be true, but it’s the differences that bring great richness to our experience, and broaden our thinking. We can accept difference and uniqueness, and honor the right for everyone to express their own ideas and viewpoints. Life is a great teacher, and by being open and welcoming, we will gain great insight and wisdom.

Today if you want everyone to agree with you and find it hard to accept different points of view, remember we are all important and worthwhile. Each expression has value. Be open to new ideas that will enhance your experience and help you understand the world. You are incredible and capable, and nothing is beyond your reach. Let others tell you who they are, and welcome new ideas. Your life will be enriched, and you’ll find great satisfaction moving forward.

In Between

Change is constant and is the only thing we can really count on. Some changes come as expected and we navigate through them easily, but life is unpredictable. We may face a time when something unexpected turns everything upside down and we are stopped in our tracks. It may take time to figure out what’s happened, and what to do next. As we stand still trying to process the new landscape and decide on our next steps, we may feel disoriented and unsure. When the road ahead is something we’ve planned for, the distance in between where we are and where we’re headed is clear and easy to see. But if our future is suddenly in doubt and we can’t yet see the way forward, we may feel momentarily paralyzed and unable to move. The space between where we are and where we want to go may be dark, and unclear. We never know what will come and there is no way to see what lies ahead. Things may go wrong, we may get turned around, the road we’re on may disappear, or a thousand other developments we can’t foresee. No matter what happens, the answers we need will be there for us. We don’t need to panic, or worry we won’t succeed. We can take one step at a time, solve each problem as it arises, and find the way forward. Detours are not the end of the journey. They may delay us and make the road ahead more complex, but they cannot keep us from our goals. Life is full of challenges but we are strong enough and wise enough to manage whatever comes. Nothing can hold us in place indefinitely and we have everything we need to succeed. Surprises will come, trials may beset us, and we might have to stop and regroup before we proceed.  But we are intelligent and wise, and will find the way forward.

The world is huge and we are never restricted to one place forever. We can always venture forth toward something new. Although our routines are familiar and comfortable, when we’re ready for a something different, we can stretch forth and move onto a new location or situation. While we’re in the process of moving from what we know to what we want, there may times of uncertainty and doubt. It’s not easy to let go of the familiar, and reach for something more. But we know what we want, and are perfectly capable of managing anything that’s required to get us there. Every destination is possible, and with determination and faith, we can do anything.

It’s easy to navigate through common territory we know well. We feel at ease when the road is familiar and we’re used to the scenery. We barely need to look where we’re going and can continue forward without much thought. But there are endless opportunities possible, and when we’re ready, we can step beyond the pavement, and chart a new course. Every single dream is possible if we’re willing to do what is needed to make it ours. We have all the courage and wisdom we need to do anything.

Today if you want to move onto something new but aren’t sure you will succeed, trust yourself. You are stronger and wiser than you imagine. Be confident and step toward the dreams you desire. Everything is possible. Believe in yourself and move ahead. You are amazing and capable, and nothing can keep you from success.

Square Peg

Everyone is different and we all see things from our own perspectives. Our lives are shaped by the experiences we have and as we move forward, each experience colors the way we see things and how we want to proceed. There is no one perfect way to live life. We have endless opportunities to do anything we like, and can design our lives any way we choose. When we’re true to our own personal needs and desires, we can find great satisfaction and happiness. But there are lots of other people around us all the time, and if they have influence over us, we may be tempted to choose what they think is best instead of listening to our own inner voice. It’s certainly easier to let others plot our course and simply follow along, but sitting in the back seat will never put us in control of where we’re headed. Going along with someone else’s ideas about what we should be doing will only take us where they want us to go, which may be far from the destinations we desire most. Someone else’s destination is just that – someone else’s. It’s like trying to force a square peg into a round hole. It’s never going to fit. We know who we are and what we want, and nothing is powerful enough to keep us from the goals we want most. We don’t have to assimilate into what others are doing or conform to anyone’s ideas about our lives. We are in complete control of our own destinies. Every road is there for us and nothing is out of reach. By stepping forward and choosing our own journey, we will reach every destination with confidence and clarity. We can have the lives we desire most, and every dream is possible.

Some people are very confident and think they know how to live in the best ways. They may give us suggestions and direction for moving forward, telling us they know what we need. We can listen to any advice we get, but one thing is certain – nobody knows us better than we know ourselves. We already know what we want, and have all the wisdom and courage needed to achieve any goal we desire. Every destination is waiting for us, and we will reach them.

We may be pressured by family or friends to do things a certain way that works for them and makes their lives easier. It’s good to be helpful, but we don’t have to give up everything to get along. There isn’t anyone else like us in all of creation, and the paths we choose are specific and unique to our own personal desires. We can value our relationships and still hold onto our own identities. Being true to who we really are and moving toward the goals we want the most will bring us lasting happiness and fulfillment. We deserve every blessing, and with determination and focus, we can make them ours.

Today if you’ve been putting your own ideas on hold and going along with those around you, remember how incredible and unique you are. You bring great light and joy to the world, and every gift is there for you. Decide what you want the most, and step forward and claim it. Nothing can keep you from your dreams. They’re all there for you, and you will make them yours.
