Making Them Pay

27 Jan

There are all kinds of people in the world doing all kinds of things and making all kinds of decisions. Everyone has their own motivations for what they do, and if someone else’s decisions are in direct opposition of our own and we collide, there will likely be conflict. If we’re in their way, they push us aside and storm on through, or do something to sabotage us. When someone does something that purposely hurts us we may be so angry we decide to make them pay. A lover cheats, a business partner sets us up, or dozens of other painful scenarios may push us to seek revenge and do our best to destroy them. We can do anything we like, but all the time spent plotting and planning, and then executing whatever we’ve chosen to do is wasted time we can’t use to move forward. Seeking revenge may make us feel better, but it will do nothing to enhance our situation or advance us toward the goals we’re seeking. And if we do attack, they may attack back. And then what? We try again? That’s a lot of wasted time and energy. Yes, they probably deserve to suffer for what they’ve done, but spending time trying to make that happen will never help us succeed. And even if we manage to hurt them, their discomfort may not stop them from doing it again. We don’t have to roll over and take abuse, and can stand firm and defend ourselves clearly and effectively. We can stand up to bullies and refuse to allow them to distract us and keep us from success. We know who we are and what we want, and when we’re focused and determined, nothing and nobody can keep us from achieving it.

Some people think they know us better than we know ourselves. They may criticize our decisions, and tell us what to do and where to go. We can listen to any advice we like, but allowing others to control our lives will never bring us satisfaction and happiness. We already know what we want and have everything we need to achieve it. We can be confident in our decisions, and move forward toward any goal we desire.

Getting deeply hurt by someone can change the way we see ourselves. We may begin to second guess our decisions, and worry that somehow their insults were right. Words only have the power we give them. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks of us or what we’re doing. We can design our lives any way we want, and never have to conform to anyone else’s ideas or opinions. By charting our own course and trusting ourselves, we can move forward and reach success.

Today if someone has done something to hurt you and you are angry and obsessed with getting them back, stop and think about what you want the most. Focus on your own road and your own destinations. Leave trouble behind and move forward with confidence. You are amazing and a great light to the world. Be strong and step forward toward success. Everything is there for you, and you will win.

Being the Fly

19 Jan

“Will you walk into my parlour?” said the Spider to the Fly…” Mary Howitt

Many of us have heard the story of the spider and the fly. The spider lures the fly into its web with flattering words and compliments, and in the end the fly is captivated and then is captured. In life, there are all kinds of people with all kinds of ideas and agendas. If they want us to join them, they may flatter and cajole us, offering us gifts or constant attention. If we’re careful and sure of ourselves, we may see through the manipulation and be able to walk away, but there may be times we miss the mark. We might align ourselves with someone who looks like a friend and ally, only to discover once we’re next to them that they are completely different than we thought. Once the shine of newness and flattery is gone, the stark truth of what’s happening will appear. If we’ve been caught up in something we don’t want, we aren’t doomed to stay forever. It doesn’t matter what we’ve been promised, or how much they reassure us that what we can plainly see isn’t the truth. We’re in control of our lives and can step away from anything that makes us uncomfortable or is heading somewhere we don’t want to go. Nobody knows everything and there will likely be times when we’ll be deceived. We may have been the fly at the beginning, but we are never so entangled we can’t escape. Once the truth is clear, we can decide how we want to proceed, and choose the best road forward. Nothing can hold us down indefinitely, and with courage, and wisdom we can do what is needed to correct our course at any time, and continue forward toward success.

If we want to convince someone to do something, we might embellish facts, or leave out information that may dissuade them from agreeing. We can do anything we like, but truth is powerful and will eventually rise and become evident. Bending details, and glossing over problems in an effort to get someone’s support may work at the beginning, but as time marches on, all the flaws and issues we left out will show themselves. It’s far better to be completely honest and upfront, explain the facts as they are, and let those around us decide for themselves.

When we are captivated by someone, it may be hard to see everything as it truly is. If they are very attractive, we may be blinded by their beauty and unable to clearly focus on what is real. It’s exciting to feel the thrall of attraction, but we can take our time and stop for a moment to look at everything objectively. Infatuation is intense and fleeting, but we can keep our wits about us and hold fast to reality. We know who we are and what we want, and with clarity and patience, we can make our dreams come true.

Today if you’re being lured to do something you aren’t sure of, think about what you really want. You are intelligent and wise and can discern what is real. Decide what you want the most, and step forward with determination and focus. You are amazing and powerful, and nothing is out of reach. Be confident and strong. Every single destination is there for you and nothing can keep you from success.

Time To Re-Set

12 Jan

The beginning of a new year can be an exciting time. We may review the last year and think about everything we’ve accomplished and the things we didn’t get done, and then decide what we want to do now. There’s a brand new calendar and we can set any goal or make any resolutions we like. Making a resolution means we absolutely and definitely resolve to do something. We are firm in our decision and nothing will move us from it. When there’s something we really want to accomplish we may be determined to get it done, but life isn’t like a story book where every complication that comes is easily solved and we can continue forward unscathed. Crap happens and it happens to us all. Unexpected developments come up, people get in our way, something blocks us from moving forward, and a million other snags might happen. Making a resolution looks good on paper, and if everything falls into place the way we plan, we may well reach success, but there’s no guarantee that will happen. We may decide that no matter what happens, no matter what gets in the way, no matter what we have to sacrifice, we’re going to succeed, but if we do that, the price we must pay may be great. We don’t need an all or nothing decision to make any changes we desire. We can set a goal and then take the first step toward making it ours. Then we can take the next step. If something gets in the way, we can go around it by modifying our plan. If we’re flexible and able to adjust as our situation changes, we have a greater chance of reaching success. We can do anything we desire but we can’t do everything all at once. By moving ahead with patience, logic and wisdom, we will reach our goals and find great satisfaction and happiness.

Life is uncertain and we never know what will happen next, but no matter what comes, we are in control of the decisions we make. If we set a goal last year that we didn’t achieve and we still want it, we can re-set it and begin again. There is no time limit for success and sometimes it takes longer than we planned. Each step forward will get us closer to the goal, and even if we don’t get all the way to the destination, we can take everything we’ve learned so far to help us continue forward.

Change is constant and nothing is written in stone, and sometimes our plans go up in smoke. We change, the situation changes, people come and go and everything may be completely different than when we started. What we wanted last year may have been perfect for where we were, but no longer fits where we want to go. We never have to continue toward any goal we no longer desire. Our lives are ours to design, and we can do anything we want and go anywhere we desire. It’s all there for us, and we will prevail.

Today if you didn’t get to your goal last year and still want to achieve it, create a new plan and take the first step forward. The past never predicts the future, and you have everything you need to succeed. Be confident and sure. You are amazing and smart, and nothing is out of reach. Trust yourself and start again. Every success is possible and you will make them yours.

Putting It All On Red

5 Jan

There are unlimited things we can accomplish as we move through our lives. Aside from barriers out of our control, we are only restricted by our own choices. We can move to a new place, change careers, learn a new language, travel to far away places, and a million other options. When we want to do something big, something that will change everything, we must be committed to making it happen. If we just kind of, sort of think we’d like to get there, we’ll kind of, sort of succeed, which is no success at all. We are powerful and capable of doing just about anything we desire, but we must be willing to do what is necessary to reach the goal. Some things look good at the beginning, but after we start we may see they are far more difficult and complex than we thought, or they involve doing things we don’t like, or they’re messy. If we’re committed to the goal, nothing is strong enough to keep us from it, but we must be focused and determined to prevail. If we’re willing to take the big leap, and keep moving forward no matter what gets in the way, we will succeed. There is greatness in us all and we are certainly able to do many amazing and wonderful things. We already possess all the wisdom and courage we need to start, and if we get stuck along the way, the answers will be there for us. Our lives are ours to design, and every success is possible.

There is little wisdom in gambling, but if we do, putting all our money on red may not work out for us the way we plan. When we’re trying to accomplish a big goal, we may feel we’ve got to give it everything – all our time, all our focus, and all our attention. We may neglect everything else in our lives just to move closer to where we most want to be. It’s good to be determined, but our lives are complicated and letting everything else suffer for one goal does not guarantee success. We can be wise and take care of our responsibilities and still remain focused ahead.

It’s hard to be patient when we really want something. Most things worth having require effort and take time to achieve. Big goals, and far away destinations may require much and take a long time. It doesn’t matter how long it takes us to get to the goal. What matters is that we are pointed in the right direction and determined to win. One small step forward will move us closer, and in time, however long that takes, we will succeed.

Today if you’ve been pushing toward a big goal for a while, and the end is still far away, be patient. Plan your time wisely and move ahead a little each day. Nothing is out of reach, and you have everything you need to succeed. Trust yourself, and be confident. You are more powerful than you imagine and you will win.

Aspiring For Greatness

3 Jan

The world is full of opportunities. There are limitless things we can do and endless places we could go. If we wanted to, we could do something new every single day, and still never reach the end of what is possible. Although we may understand this, it’s easy to get stuck in a rut doing the same things every day. We need to provide for ourselves and for most of us, that means working a job. Most jobs aren’t worldwide endeavors that allow for endless travel and constant new experiences. Generally, we must report to the same place and do basically the same things each day. It’s easy to keep our lives small and simply continue on the same road without looking up. Being responsible and providing for our own needs is important but that doesn’t mean we can’t express ourselves and still do things that expand our horizons and allow us to aspire to greatness. Every situation is different, but no matter where we are or what we’re doing, we can choose to be the very best we can be and extend ourselves in ways that positively impact our lives. Instead of doing the minimum requirement to continue forward, we can peel back the layers a bit, get involved more deeply and really make an impact. Mediocrity is easy to achieve. We don’t have to work hard or do too much, and can simply do the minimum required to stay in place. But there is greatness in all of us and when we choose our very best options, we’ll find enormous growth and incredible fulfillment. Our lives are ours to design. By extending ourselves, and reaching further, we can reach goals we never dreamed possible. With focus and determination, every destination is attainable and we will achieve great success.

Everyone has their own ideas about how things should be done. Others may tell us what they think we should do, where we should go, and how we should act. We’re all entitled to our own opinions, but nobody knows us better than we know ourselves. We don’t have to do things a certain way simply because they’ve always been done that way. If we want something different, we don’t need to conform. We are intelligent and highly capable and can make any choice we desire. The lives we want the most are possible, and with focus and clarity, we will have them.

It’s comfortable to stay in the same place doing the same things. We know the players and pretty much what to expect. Repetition is easy but will never make our dreams come true. It can be intimidating to move into foreign territory and do something new, but we have all the courage and wisdom we need to overcome anything. New doors with limitless possibilities are waiting. We can step forward with confidence, aspire for greatness and find incredible success.

Today if you are ready to try something new, decide what you want the most and take the first step. You already possess everything you need to do anything you desire. The whole world is there for you and nothing can hold you in place. Recognize your strength, and be confident. Every success is there for you and you will prevail.
