Behind It All

We all want a life filled with happiness and great experiences.  It would be wonderful if we never had to suffer, go through heartbreak or loss, and each day was clear and bright and filled with joy.  But we live in the real world and things will inevitably go wrong.  Sometimes we struggle because of decisions we’ve made or those made by others, sometimes because of events out of our control, and sometimes we have no idea why everything went wrong.  When we’re under water with stress and despair, if the trial is long lasting and difficult we may begin to believe it will never end.  The dark clouds over us may seem stationary and we don’t see any changes ahead.  Storms can be treacherous and frightening, and if there’s a lot of noise and disharmony they may cause us to shiver for a moment.  When the sky over us is dark and looming, and the clouds are dense and threatening, we may forget that behind it all the sun is brightly beaming, waiting for a clearing to shine down on us.  The sun is always there, no matter how dark it is overhead.  When we’re going through difficult challenges we can remember that behind any anxiety and duress, it is shining over us.  It’s always there and we can count on our ability to find the answers we need and the sun breaking through.  Hard times come to us all and we may feel overwhelmed and pushed to our limits, but no matter what is happening now, there is always the chance for happiness ahead.  Life will try us and there may be times when we’re sure we can never prevail.  But step by step we will find our way and every single issue will be resolved.  We are more powerful and capable than we may believe.  We can manage any problem we face and find success.  The sun is always there no matter how dark the sky is overhead.  We can trust in it and in ourselves to get through.

There are unlimited roads possible to every destination we seek.  There is no one right way to live life.  When we’re trying to find our way through a puzzling and difficult challenge, we don’t have to take the same path that everyone else has tried.  We can revise our thinking and do something different.  If we are open to new possibilities and ways of thinking, no matter how confounding the issues are before us, we will find the way through.  There is no limit to what we can do and nothing we can’t overcome.

Unresolved problems don’t simply go away and stay away forever.  They will return again and again until we determine to finally settle them once and for all.  If we’re facing a problem we did not resolve in the past that is weighing us down, we can commit to taking it apart until we close it completely, and move forward undeterred and confident.  We deserve complete and total happiness and facing the issues that block our path and deciding to solve them before moving on will help us achieve it.

Today if you’re in the midst of serious trials and trouble, if the way ahead is dark and you feel unsure, remember the sun is shining brightly behind it all.  You can find every answer you need to settle any issues you’re facing.  You are stronger and wiser than you imagine.  Do what is needed to clear the road ahead and continue forward.  Nothing is too difficult for you and every dream is possible.

The Dark Side

Life is filled with ups and downs. One minute everything is sailing along fine and we’re comfortable and then a ringer gets thrown into our plans and everything goes awry. Everyone wants their days to be easy and fun but unfortunately, we don’t live in paradise and there will be problems. As we go through one complication after another we learn to be flexible and hopefully gain increased patience and understanding. We can keep our wits about us when the road ahead gets dark and trust we’ll find our way through. Many times, we’re able to see what needs to be done so we can accomplish the task at hand, but sometimes if the problem is very serious and we’re intensely impacted we may struggle to stand, much less move forward. Bad things happen. People do things that hurt us, plans fail, sickness comes, and there may be times when we have to completely change where we’re headed. When darkness falls and it’s hard to see, we may get discouraged. But the light is still there. It’s still shining over us above the clouds and we will reach it. We can trust we’ll be able to manage and survive. We’ll learn many things through trial and take them with us to help us going forward. Life is an incredible blessing. If we remember how strong and capable we are, in the midst of trouble we’ll feel more confident and find the answers we need.

It seems like life would be so much better if everything would just go the way we wanted it to. If we could get up each morning knowing nothing would go wrong we would feel more comfortable and happy. However, if all our days were perfect there would be nothing to strive for. We would have no reason to learn anything new or try to improve ourselves. Everything would be the same every day and we would remain exactly as we are. Trials open new horizons for growth and teach us more about ourselves and the world around us. We gain new skills and depth as we overcome each problem and become wiser and more patient. Struggle brings great blessings to our lives. We can take those blessing with us to enhance the way ahead.

We may face a time when many things go wrong all at once. It can be overwhelming to figure out what to do when the ground we’re standing on is shaking and unsure. If we’re stunned to our very core with an issue that has knocked us down, we don’t have to jump up right away. We can take a moment to settle and see the situation openly. We have everything we need to face anything that happens and every answer is there for us. We don’t have to solve everything at once. We can take one step at a time and open each door as it appears. We are stronger than we think we are and nothing can hold us down. Every success is still waiting for us and with patience and persistence we will reach it.

Today if you’re in the midst of a very difficult situation and have no idea what to do next, stand still for moment and take everything in. The answers are already there for you. Take one step forward and the road will open up ahead. You are amazing and strong and nothing can stop you from gaining every success you seek. Be confident. You will prevail.

Something Different

We make all kinds of personal connections as we go through our lives. Some of them are strong and we hold onto them for many years. We may become attached to someone we feel is very much like us who does things that make us happy and enhance our lives. As the connection grows, we believe in them and trust they are who they appear to be. Often that’s the case and we move forward knowing we can count on them and find comfort having them in our lives. But some people are dishonest and do things that make others believe they are someone they aren’t in order to create a close connection that gives them something they desire. When someone says all the right things that push all our happy buttons, it can be hard to imagine they are lying. If we trust them and give our hearts to them and then find out they aren’t who we thought they were but someone completely different, we may feel devastated. It’s hard to understand such manipulation and if it happens to us we may be crushed and lose confidence in ourselves. We can’t control the decisions of others and it’s good to trust and believe in them. If that turns against us, the one who deceived is responsible. Life can be complicated and we never know what will come next. No matter where we’ve been or what’s already happened, we can trust ourselves to make excellent decisions going forward. If we fell, we can get back up. We are strong and powerful and nothing can hold us down.

Strong, long lasting relationships take continual work and compromise. If both involved are willing to do what is needed to find resolution as problems arise, there’s a good chance for a positive outcome. But if we’re in a relationship where we’re doing all the work and the other person is ignoring their part while pretending to care, we may give too much of ourselves away and end up feeling empty and alone. We deserve the very best of every situation and never need to take on someone else’s responsibility. We can decide what’s best for us at every turn. We know what we want and with wisdom and courage we can do what we must to achieve it.

If we’ve been fooled by someone pretending to love us who isn’t the person they professed to be, we may struggle to forgive ourselves for falling for them. We may feel we should have known better but we can’t see things that are hidden. If we’d had all the facts from the beginning we would never have believed the lie. We are smart and intelligent and if someone fools us, we can take what we’ve learned forward and be confident in our ability to make the best decisions.

Today if you’ve fallen for a lie or are in a relationship that isn’t working, remember you are wise and valuable, and deserve every happiness. Let go of any guilt for mistakes in judgment and move forward with confidence. You are certainly capable of making excellent choices. Leave the past behind and step toward the future. There is great success and happiness ahead for you. Keep moving forward and you’ll reach it.

Out of the Light

We determine what is right for us and where our ethical and moral boundaries lie.  When we’re true to the standards that define us we can be authentic in our expressions and genuine in our responses.  There will be opportunities every day to compromise ourselves and step away from the boundaries we’ve set.  If we decide to venture into areas outside the borders we’ve defined as what’s best for us, the foundations we’ve built will be left behind and we’ll step onto a road that will take us somewhere we’ve never been.  We may think we’re only stepping out of the light for a moment, and then we’ll return, but life continually moves forward and it’s possible that although we only intend to set our standards aside for a moment, what we do may make it difficult to return to them.  If we point our compass away from the values we’ve previously set, it may be hard to turn it back and start again.  We can always change our lives and no roads are closed indefinitely but the patterns we choose and connections we make can be powerful.  One step away from who we are takes us closer to becoming someone else.  Letting go of our personal values and standards will never make us into the people we most want to become.  One thing always leads to another and every choice will bring a result.  We can carefully look ahead and make choices that take us where we want to go and help us to live our best.

Dishonesty will never bring us lasting happiness.  One lie often leads to another, and then another, and before we know it we may find we’ve forgotten what’s real.  It’s possible to create a life of mirages and illusion that has no basis in fact or reality.  We can tell people anything we like, pretend to be someone we aren’t, and manipulate the truth any way that paves the way forward.  If we are proficient we may fool others for a long time but eventually the truth will rise and we’ll be left with nothing but our lies for companions.

If we want something badly, we may be tempted to step out of line for a moment and cheat – just this once – in order to get it.  We may justify the action by thinking we’ll only do this one time but if we’re successful and don’t get caught it’s possible we’ll try it again.  If we continue over and over it’ll become our new norm and we may lose our sense of what is right altogether.  Our lives are ours to design.  We can be dishonest, unethical, manipulative, and as slippery as we want.  Or we can hold fast to the values we cherish and no matter what, choose the right.  The lives we have will be reflected in each choice we make.  We are strong enough, wise enough, and brave enough to choose wisely and live with excellence.

Today if you’ve stepped away from your personal standards, decide what kind of person you want to be.  You can find authenticity and perfection by choosing to be honest in all your dealings.  The roads to your dreams are straight and true.  Hold fast to the values you cherish and choose the right at every turn.  Your light will shine brightly and every door will open for you.

Waiting for a Sign

When we’re trying to find our way forward and aren’t sure which road to choose, and there are a lot of variables and decisions to be made, we may feel daunted and overwhelmed at the task. It can be hard to make decisions when there are a lot of possible good choices and if we’re confused and unsure we may hope for a sign to point the way. Signs are helpful and we use them every day to guide us and give us the direction we need to move forward safely and in the right direction. They are often easy to understand and help us navigate difficult passages. When we’re unsure in our personal decisions we may wish for a clear and obvious sign that points us toward where we want to go and gives us the information we need to find success. We can wish for a sign that tells us what to do and hope it will come but it’s unlikely to happen. If we take the time to think about our decisions and rely on our personal experiences and wisdom to guide us we will find the best way forward. We already have all the tools we need to make the best choices going forward. We have all the signs we need inside us. There is no need to wish for answers – we can find them on our own. We are capable of making excellent decisions. There isn’t anything we can’t figure out and everything we need is available. We can be confident and brave moving forward and choose the best roads to take us to any destination we desire.

Life is all about cause and effect. Things always happen for a reason but the reason may not be what we imagine. When something changes that seems to be pointing us in a new direction, before we change course, we can take the time to look at the situation objectively and ensure it will take us where we really want to go. There is no pre-destination at play. We make all our decisions independently and choose the paths we want to travel. Every road will take us somewhere and there are endless possibilities before us. We need only decide where we want to go and then take the first step forward.

When we’re in difficult and challenging situations it would be great if someone came along at just the right moment to tell us exactly what to do to reach success. That might happen at some point but generally we must find our own way forward. There is no need to be intimidated even if the decisions before us are hard and far reaching. We have everything we need to evaluate any circumstance and choose the best way forward. We are intelligent, strong and capable of making the best choices. All the answers are there for us and we will find them.

Today if you’re facing a big decision and wish there was some sign to point the way, remember all the good decisions you’ve already made and trust yourself to choose wisely. You know what you want and where you want to go. Look ahead and decide on the best road forward. Every success is there for you. Take the first step. You know the way and you will reach the destination.
