The Very Last Mile

2 Sep

Life is full of challenges that teach us and sometimes push us to our limits. They may come from decisions we make, and may happen without any influence from us. If we decide to train and run a marathon, on the day of the race, we may feel jubilant and eager for the test. As we begin, the first few miles may fly by. We feel strong and powerful, and look ahead, anticipating success. But as the miles pass, and we continue to push, we may tire and our muscles may begin to ache. We may feel exhausted, and find it hard to keep our focus on the road ahead. As we approach the last phase of the race, we may begin to wonder if we can make it to the finish line. We don’t learn how strong and capable we are during the first mile of any race. Our resilience and determination are defined by how we manage and complete the very last mile. When all our reserves are spent, when our vision is dimmed by sweat and fatigue, and lifting our foot one more time takes everything we have, we discover how committed we are. If we really want to reach the goal, nothing can keep us from it, but that doesn’t mean attaining success will be easy. We may have to pull from deep within and reach for every gift we possess to get there. When the road is long, and the journey has been hard, we may think about quitting. Of course, we are always in control of our lives and can change course at any time. However, if the goal is important to us, we can do whatever is necessary to make it ours. We already possess everything we need to do anything we desire. We can jump any hurdle, solve any problem, and continue forward until we gain the prize. Every single dream is possible, and with patience, endurance, and determination, we can make them ours.

When we must conquer something difficult that draws a lot out of us, we may get overwhelmed. Nobody has unlimited personal resources, and we’re all going to run out of steam at some point. When we’re exhausted and worn out, it’s hard to see all the options before us. We can be dedicated, but we need not push ourselves beyond what we can handle. By managing our time effectively, and planning carefully, we can continue forward, taking the time we need to recharge and find our way to the goal.

Some goals are very hard to achieve. They may be complex and take a long time. The excitement at the beginning helps us get a good start, but when problems arise again and again, and the road gets dark and seems endless, we may lose our passion for the prize. We never have to continue on any road we don’t want. If the goal is too much for us right now, we can set it aside and wait until our situation changes and try again. There will be endless chances to reach success. We can do anything we desire, and reach every destination.

Today if you’ve been pushing toward a goal for a long time, and are weary from the struggle, take a step back and look at all the possibilities available. Take the break you need to refresh yourself, and return toward success. You are stronger and more capable than you realize, and nothing is beyond your reach. Be confident, and move forward. Every destination is there for you, and you will prevail.

The Very End

28 Jul

Life is filled with opportunities. We can do anything we like, and each day brings new possibilities. If we’re focused on what we want to accomplish, we can design our lives in ways that bring us great satisfaction and lasting happiness. All options are possible, but few will come without effort. Of course, we can sail along and just let things roll out as they will, and we may be happy with what we get. But without direction, our lives will simply be a reflection of whatever is happening around us. Without thought and effort, we will never reach the goals we most desire. When we’re looking ahead and are focused on a particular destination, if we plan well and move forward with determination, each step will take us closer to the goal. Some things come quickly, but others will require attention and diligence, and we may have to strain to push ourselves forward. If we’ve been trying hard, and seemingly pushing uphill for a long time, it may be difficult to continue. A marathon race is a long distance. The first few miles may fly by, but as we press forward, putting one foot in front of the other, we will tire. When we get close to the finish line, we may be exhausted, and begin to doubt we can make it. Anyone can accomplish the first mile of a race. It’s the last mile that’s the hardest, and defines who we are. We will never win unless we’re willing to endure to the very end, no matter how hard the race becomes. If we only start out well, excited and full of energy, and then sit down and stop when the road gets hard and miles stretch before us, we will never succeed. Some challenges are very difficult, and will try us, perhaps more than we think we can endure. But there are great reserves of strength and stamina within us. We have all the courage and temerity we need to win. We are strong and powerful, and if we’re determined, nothing can keep us from success.

There is no way to see into the future, and we never know when we begin what will happen or how things will go. Some roads are paved, well-traveled, and easy, and are a snap to navigate. But others may take us through foreign territory, where we don’t know the players, and the terrain is difficult and unknown. Stretching beyond what we know is never easy, but if we want to move toward our goals, we can step forward with confidence. There isn’t anything we can’t manage, and no complication that can hold us in place. We are intelligent and capable, and will find the way forward.

Nobody has unlimited energy and there will be times when we’ll tire and run out of steam. A long challenge will test our ability to endure, and we may have moments when quitting looks very appealing. We can do anything we like, and if the journey is more than we can handle right now, we can step away and do something else. Change is constant, and the chance to start again will come. Every goal is possible and we have everything we need to reach them.

Today if the road you’re on is hard and you’re tired of struggling, look ahead. The end is closer than you think, and you have everything you need to prevail. Be strong and step forward. Nothing can keep you from success, and you will win.

The Last One

18 Dec

We live in a very competitive world. There are constant suggestions that we should do more, reach further, make more money, accomplish more success and other opinions. There will always be many ideas about how we should live our lives and spend our time. We can listen to them and spend all our time trying to be what others think we should be. Nobody knows us better than we know ourselves, or has any idea what we want to accomplish. However, the promptings to do what the world values are endless, and if we don’t accomplish whatever level of success we’re told we should reach, we may begin to feel we don’t measure up. Like being the last one chosen for a game in school, our self-esteem may get dinged, and we might begin to doubt we’ll ever succeed at anything. We know it’s impossible to be everything to everyone, but if we’re being told we should be more, do more, and have more, we might feel compelled to try. There are billions of people in the world and they all have their own ideas about success. If we try to accommodate every suggestion, we’ll only end up exhausted and frustrated. We know who we are and what we want. It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t match someone else’s view of what we should do, or if we’re the only ones going in our direction. We define what our personal success looks like, and can live our lives any way we choose. Even if everyone around us is blue, we can be green. We can express our own personal choices any way we decide, and move forward in any direction. Our lives are a reflection of every decision we make, and if we’re true to the desires we hold close, we’ll find happiness and satisfaction. The symphony of our individuality lies within us. The rest is just background music.

Life is not a race, and there is never only one winner. There are endless roads leading to endless destinations, and we can design our own journey moving forward. Our families and traditions may influence us, and the expectations of others may come into play, but in the end, we decide what we’ll do. We are always in control of our next steps. There isn’t anything we can’t accomplish and every destination is possible. We can trust ourselves to choose the best direction ahead, and reach every goal we desire.

There is comfort and ease in conformity. If everyone is doing the same things, and traveling the same road, there is a lot of support and convenience. But our lives are important and following someone else’s path will only take us where they are going. We are powerful and wise, and can decide how we’ll live our lives and what we want to accomplish. By choosing for ourselves, and confidently striking out on our own, we’ll have the lives we want the most, and make our dreams come true.

Today if you’ve been going along with what others think you should be doing, remember your life is a gift, and how you live it is up to you. You can do anything you desire. Decide what you want the most, and then step forward with confidence. Every dream is possible and you can make them yours. Success is there for you, and you will reach it.

Getting Ready

17 Dec

There are unlimited things we can do and places to go. We’re in control of our lives and can do anything we want to do. We can choose the paths we want to travel, make plans, and then step forward and begin toward the goals we desire most. But sometimes we aren’t quite ready to start toward something new. Maybe we don’t have all the resources we’ll need to succeed, or our time is limited and there is nothing extra. Or maybe we aren’t sure we can do what is needed to achieve the goal. Our confidence may not be strong enough for us to believe we can succeed. Confidence is a valuable asset and helps us push ahead even when the odds are against us. We all have the potential for strong and vibrant confidence that makes us feel powerful and capable. But life is filled with all kinds of experiences and sometimes we may go through something that pulls us down, and damages our self-reliance and personal belief. Things may go wrong, people may hurt us and belittle us, or we may fail at something we thought we had hold of. We may go through a terrible time of self-doubt and begin to believe we cannot find success, no matter what we do. Painful disturbances may come and we may fall away, and lose our footing. If we don’t think we can prevail, we probably won’t win. Life is ever changing, and we can modify our thinking and trust ourselves again. We are more powerful and wise than we think we are, and no matter what’s happened before, have all the reserves and intelligence we need to do anything and go anywhere. Trouble may come, but we can shake it off, and start again. If we need time, we can take it. If we need help, we can find it. Every destination is possible, and with determination and faith, we will reach our goals.

In a foot race, the runners line up and get into position before the race starts. If one fails to get set and prepared in advance, when the gun goes off, it’s unlikely they will be able to bound out of the blocks and get ahead. Being prepared for what we want to accomplish helps us begin on solid ground. When we know where we want to go, and have decided on a clear path to get there, we ensure our success. It’s impossible to reach any destination without a clear idea of how to get there. We can carefully plan our next steps forward and confidently move toward the goal.

When we want to do something new, it’s important to clearly understand what will be required of us before we begin. If the road is long and tenuous, we can plan to start when we have ample time and energy to face every challenge and continue forward. It does no good to start on a goal with half the resources we need to accomplish it. We can look at everything objectively, and make the best plan for advancing to safeguard our success.

Today if there’s something you want to do, but don’t have everything you need to accomplish it, make a plan and prepare to begin. You are amazing and every goal is within your reach. Decide what you want the most, choose the best road going forward, and take the first step. Every success is possible, and you will win.

Save Me

Human relationships are important to all of us. As we learn to understand others and build connections, we may rely on them for strength, balance, and support. The world is a huge place with millions of strangers, and our close relationships give us an anchor to hold onto as we face each day. It’s good to have strong associations with those close to us and when things go wrong it’s a blessing to have someone who understands us on our side. While we may reach for others in times of need, our lives are always our responsibility. We cannot push our personal issues over onto someone else to solve. Our problems belong to us and we must find our own answers. Nobody can save us from trouble or protect us from sorrow. Trouble and sorrow come to everyone and we must manage them in our own lives. If we feel unsure or weak, we can get support but, in the end, we must find the way forward ourselves. Nobody gets a free pass from struggle. How we manage our struggles defines who we are. If we lean on others and whine, refusing to face our challenges, we will never learn to be strong. If we give up and surrender when things go wrong, we will never reach the goals we desire. We have all the wisdom and strength we need to face anything we must. We can trust in our ability to overcome anything and be confident going forward. Our lives belong to us and what we do with them is our responsibility. There is no challenge too difficult to resolve and we can have the lives we dream about.

Everyone is different. Some people are very confident and bold, and if we’re timid and unsure it may seem their way forward is easier. Problems come to us all and how we manage them often depends on how we perceive their influence over us. If we’re sure they will bring our demise, we may give up and allow them to stop us in our tracks. However, if we remember all the times we’ve overcome adversity and trust ourselves to find the answers, we can move forward with confidence, knowing we will reach a resolution. There isn’t anything we can’t do, and we can find answers for any complication that comes.

In a relay race, when a runner completes their responsibility, they hand the baton to the next person to take over and finish the race. It would be great when we have serious troubles if we could do some of the work and then hand the problem off to someone else to solve. Unfortunately, life doesn’t work that way, and our responsibility does not end until the issue is resolved. If the problem is serious and involves many complications, it may take time to find the answers. The answers will always be there and we have everything we need to uncover them. There is nothing we can’t overcome and we are strong enough, and wise enough, to do anything.

Today, if you’re facing a difficult issue and want badly to hand it off to someone else, hold fast and move forward. You have everything you need to find the solution. There is nothing too complex or hard for you to overcome. Be confident and move forward. You will find the way ahead and reach success.
