Paving the Road

Every day we make lots of decisions about what we’re doing, where we’re going, and how we want to proceed. Sometimes, we can see where the decision will take us, and we move forward confident we’ll end up with the results we seek. Every road has a destination, and with careful thought and planning, we can get where we want to go. But not everything is obvious at the start, and we may be sure we’re headed on the right road while going in the opposite direction. All our goals are possible but everything we do either helps pave the road ahead or creates obstacles that get in the way. Which way things will go depends on the decisions we make with each step. Nobody wants to complicate their lives on purpose or tries to create more problems moving forward. Even though we may try to make the best decisions possible, we might still get hung up and stopped. We have no control over what others are doing or what will happen. The only thing we can control is what we do, and it’s possible that even if we’ve planned well, and tried to be ready for every conceivable eventually, something unexpected may happen that keeps us from success. If we do all we can to pave the road ahead and prepare in advance, no matter what comes, we’ll find the way through. Nothing is powerful enough to keep us from success. It might be delayed as we navigate through complications, but we will prevail. Life is filled with surprises and we may be pushed off course. But there are endless roads to every single destination, and we are smart enough and courageous enough to find the way forward. We may not reach it today, and tomorrow may be difficult, but with persistence and confidence, we will reach the goal. We have everything we need to do anything we desire. Each step forward gets us closer, and we will win.

There are endless choices before us with each decision we make. What we decide will either help us move forward or hold us in place. If we’re careless or rush before we get all the facts, we may choose things that create roadblocks and detours on the road ahead. We may spend countless hours trying to move around avoidable issues and problems. By taking the time we need to see everything before we jump, the journey will be easier, and we will reach the destination.

Everyone has their own opinions about life and what we should do. Before we begin toward a goal, we may get lots of advice about moving forward. We can certainly heed any suggestion or guidance we’re given, but nobody knows us better than we know ourselves. We already know what we want and where we want to go, and have all the wisdom and intelligence we need to get there. Every dream is possible, and with determination and faith, we can accomplish anything.

Today if the road ahead is convoluted and complex, remember how wise and capable you are. There isn’t anything you can’t manage. Make decisions that will pave the way to success, and step forward with confidence. You are amazing and powerful. Every destination is already there for you. Move ahead sure of success, and you’ll reach it.

Aftermath

Weather is unpredictable. We might be enjoying a completely sunny day, when suddenly dark clouds roll in and a storm begins to blow. There might be advanced warning so we can prepare, but things can change quickly and unexpectedly, and we may get caught in a deluge without cover. The same is true in our personal lives. One moment we’re sailing along on a clear road, easily moving toward our goals, and then something happens that completely changes the landscape ahead. When everything suddenly turns upside down it’s hard to gain our footing and figure out exactly what to do. But we are intelligent and capable, and there isn’t any problem so complex or daunting that can hold us in place indefinitely. All the answers we need will always be there for us, and with patience and focus, we’ll find them. That doesn’t mean we won’t suffer or need time to recover after the worst is over. Some things can change our lives so dramatically that we cannot return to where we were. The aftermath of a storm may leave 100 year old trees knocked to the ground, and flood waters in places that have never seen them before. If our lives are so altered by events out of our control, that we are turned around and facing a completely new direction, the aftermath may leave us scarred and unsure. The future may seem intimidating and we may have no idea how to proceed. Getting pushed off course and turned around will make it hard to discern the road ahead. We can take our time and stand still until we can see clearly where we want to go. Having to travel on a new road will not prevent us from reaching any goal we desire. There are endless roads to every destination, and we have everything we need to reach them.

Everyone wants an easy life. We may think it would be perfect if every road was clear and nothing got in our way. It would certainly be easier to move forward if there were no obstacles, but if all our goals were easy to reach, we would lose the great experience that trials bring us. When we get stopped, we must re-think our plans and find answers to help us start again. Every experience gives us new skills to carry forward and enables us to reach success more easily. Trouble will come to us all, and valuing what we’re learning as we navigate through whatever problem we’re facing will help us understand ourselves and the world around us.

We may face a situation that is so intense and negative it changes the way we see ourselves and our future lives. What was once possible may be gone and where we were headed may no longer work. Every storm has an aftermath. How it affects our lives may be out of our control. That doesn’t mean we can’t be successful, but our success may look completely different than when we started.

Today if something has happened that has completely upended your plans, and you’re facing a new direction, trust yourself. There isn’t anything you can’t manage. Success is still there for you and you will reach it. Look at everything clearly and decide how you want to proceed. Every destination is possible and your will prevail.

Another Mile

We can accomplish anything we like in life, and with determination and focus, can make many dreams come true. If the goals we seek are easy to attain, we may find quick success and feel good about our accomplishments. But there are some destinations that take a lot of work and time to reach. They may require much preparation, and we might need to learn new skills and obtain greater understanding to move toward them. Everything is possible, but not everything will come easily. If the road we’ve been on has been long and difficult, and we’ve had to stretch in ways that are hard and unanticipated, if may be tough to keep going. Another mile forward may seem impossible and we might begin to doubt we’ll succeed. It takes strength and fortitude to continue when we’re tired, and courage to keep going when we aren’t sure what lies ahead. Big successes often demand big sacrifices. Do we want the goal enough to make them? Are we willing to tug and pull and stretch just a little longer? Can we trust ourselves to reach the prize? If we really want to get to the destination, we must be stalwart in our conviction that we will succeed. If the goal is important, it doesn’t matter how hard the journey is to reach it. We will always have enough to continue forward. Our lives are ours to design. We can take it easy and glide around on the simple paths. Or we can set our eyes on the goals we desire most, and do what is needed to make them ours. Every single dream is there for us. Nothing is too difficult or too far to reach. We can trust that we have everything we need to gain success, and be confident we will prevail.

We’re all individuals and have our own perspectives and ideas about what we should do and where we should go. Those around us may agree or have a completed different viewpoint. If they think our plans are too ambitious or difficult, they may try to convince us to choose something easier. We can take any advice we like, but nobody can possibly know us better than we know ourselves. Our decisions are ours to make and we don’t need agreement or permission to proceed. We can do anything and go anywhere, and reach any goal we desire.

Nobody has endless energy. If we’ve been working hard toward something for a long time, it’s likely we’ll get tired. There is no rush to reach our goals. We can take a break and step back for a while to re-evaluate what we want to do, and decide how to proceed. Standing still gives us time to see how far we’ve come, and helps us look ahead to the possibilities before us. We are intelligent and capable, and nothing is so complex we can’t unravel it. Every destination is available, and with determination and focus, we will reach them all.

Today if you’ve been working hard toward a goal you want to achieve, and the road is still long before you, remember how strong and powerful you are. If you need a break, step back and stand still. All the answers are already there for you. Decide how you want to proceed, and begin again. Nothing can keep you from any destination you desire. You have everything you need to succeed, and you will win.

Doing and Saying

There are all kinds of people around us every day. We see them at work, at the store, on the road and just about everywhere we go. We’re all busy living our lives and accomplishing whatever we want or need to get done. What we do defines us, and lets people know who we are, and where we’re headed. As we interact with others, we can say anything. We can tell the truth about ourselves, or make up any story we like. If we wish our life was different, or that we were further down the road than we are, we may embellish and fabricate our situation to present the image we want to portray. Talk is cheap and easy to manipulate. But what we say doesn’t identify us. We are defined by what we do. Our actions tell the world who we are and what we stand for. If they don’t match what we’re selling, it will be hard for others to trust us. They might fall for lies at the beginning, but the truth will always rise, and when it does, we might lose more than we can imagine. Nobody wants to be fooled, and if we discover we’ve been manipulated, we might walk away from the relationship, and never return. Good, strong relationships are a great blessing in our lives. They enrich our experiences and bring us comfort and satisfaction. If we’re deceptive and purposely misleading about who we are or what we’re doing, we may end up burning every bridge behind us. Nobody has a perfect life, and we’re on the road to somewhere. Choosing wisely and being honest about ourselves will open doors, and move us closer to our goals.

Sometimes what people say doesn’t exactly match what they do. Someone may say they love us but can never find time to spend with us. Or they might say they’re honest, but their ethics at work are slippery at best. We can say anything at any time, but what we say will never determine who we really are. That can only be defined by what we actually do. We are capable of making excellent decisions, even when they’re inconvenient or difficult. We can choose the road ahead with clarity and integrity, and reach success.

There may be times when due to external pressures or expectations, we say we’ll do something we aren’t sure we can achieve. Once we agree to whatever we’ve been asked to do, we are committed and must follow through. If there is no way to do what we’ve agreed to, we can go back and discuss other possible options. We are wise and intelligent, and can be clear about our capabilities and desires. By being honest in our agreements, and openly communicating our plans, we will move ahead with great confidence and success.

Today if you’re tempted to pretend to be something you’re not, or embellish what you’ve done to impress someone, remember what you do defines who you are. Be clear and honest in everything you do, and those around you will honor and trust you. There is greatness inside you. Trust yourself, and step forward with confidence. Every goal is possible, and you will achieve great success.

Beige Paint

There are billions of people on Earth, and each is individual. We all have our own ideas about what’s right and how things should go. Every choice is ours to make and if we make them honestly, staying true to who we really are, we have a better chance of getting the results we desire. But we share our lives with lots of other people, and some of them are strong willed and powerful. They may tell us what to do, where to go, and how they think we should live. If we’re timid and unsure, or lack self-confidence, and our choices differ, we may struggle to stand up and defend them. We might try to blend into the background to go unnoticed, and stay out of the way. By keeping our heads down and our eyes averted, we may think we’ll be overlooked. Beige paint is very neutral. It’s used a lot because it basically goes with everything. It doesn’t stand out, and is often just a plain background that few people notice. When we’re in uncomfortable situations with others, we can try to be like that – we can try to be beige paint. We might succeed in hiding, but ducking down and pretending we aren’t there will never help us reach our goals. We don’t have to fit into anyone else’s model or conform to any idea. We don’t have to shout, and get attention, but we can stand firm. We can show our true colors, red, blue, hot pink, or whatever, even if they don’t match what others are doing. Our gifts are ours alone to give, and we can express them in ways that are unique and specific to us. Beige paint has a place, but it doesn’t need to be part of who we are. The whole world is blessed by our presence, and we bring great light and variety to those around us. We can be confident in choosing our own road, and move forward toward any goal we desire.

It’s easy to work in a group when everyone has the same ideas and agrees on the same things. Conformity can pave the road ahead, but going along with others when we want something else rarely takes us where we want to go. Everyone has something to offer and insight nobody else possesses. By speaking up and sharing our thoughts with those around us, we will enrich everyone, and deepen our understanding.

There may be times when we have an idea but aren’t sure it’ll work out. What if we speak up and others think it’s stupid? What if they adopt our plan and it fails? Nothing in life is certain, and there will be times when things won’t go the way we want them to. But if we keep every idea to ourselves afraid that it might not work out, we’ll never get the chance to succeed. If the first plan falls apart, we can come up with another. There are many roads to every destination and with patience, and courage, we will find all the answers we need to reach success.

Today if you’ve been keeping a low profile, trying not to be noticed, remember you are important. Your ideas have value and you can present them with confidence. You have so much to offer. Speak up, and share your thoughts with those around you. Every success is possible, and with courage and determination, nothing can keep you from your goals. You are amazing and capable, and we’re all blessed because you are here.
