Unbelievable

6 Sep

We make millions of decisions as we go through our lives and the choices we make reflect who we are.  We can say anything and the real testimony of our character is evident in the decisions we make as we move along.  If we continually make commitments we don’t meet or promises we don’t keep it will be hard for others to trust us.  If we continually break our word, over time our word will become meaningless.  It’s easy to go along and say we’ll do something we have no intention of doing just to get through a sticky situation.  And we can make all the promises we want to others to make them happy even when we know we’ll never follow through.  Words are cheap and we can say anything.  The true test of who we are comes after we speak and commit.  If we follow through and keep our word we will gain the respect and trust of those around us.  If we renege or back out of our promises, our word will mean nothing.  We will become unbelievable and others will understand they cannot trust us.  Personal character is defined by the choices we make every day.  When we step up and do what we’ve agreed to we become trustworthy and valiant.  Our personal relationships are built on trust and once destroyed, is difficult to restore.  Every choice we make is important.  Every time we give our word we put our trust on the line.  We can choose to follow through and if we do, our connections to those around us will be strengthened.  We can make any decisions we like and have any kind of life we choose.  Learning to be truthful and trustworthy will help us avoid confusion and disharmony and bring us happiness.

Some people struggle with honesty.  They may manipulate situations to make them appear different than they really are and say things they don’t mean to get through a hard issue.  If we skate through a problem pushing off our responsibility and saying whatever is needed to move forward we may damage our credibility with those around us.  There is no problem too difficult for us to face honestly and find a way through.  We can be truthful and only make commitments we intend to keep to resolve any issue before us.

We may face very complicated and difficult situations are we navigate through our lives.  We don’t always have all the information we need to make the best choices but we can use what we have and determine the best way ahead.  If things change we can modify our course.  If we are honest in our decisions we will find our way.  Making an honest mistake will not reflect negatively on our character.  If we do the best we can we will find the way forward and succeed.

Today if you’re facing a difficult issue and are tempted to say anything just to get through, reach higher and navigate the situation honestly and openly.  You have everything you need to conquer any problem and others will trust you when you choose well.  You are wise and competent and know the way forward.  Make the best choices you can today and they will bring you blessings tomorrow.

Auto Pilot

30 Aug

Often our lives are very busy and we have lots of things to get done.  We might have a list of tasks to accomplish or be in situations where there are constant developments that need our attention.  When we’re working hard moving forward and accomplishing things we may step into a sort of auto pilot role.  We may finish one thing and then immediately begin the next without much thought.  If we aren’t paying attention to what’s going on we may make mistakes and take turns that bring complications and problems.  We can’t go back in time and if we create an issue that complicates our way forward we will have to solve it before we can continue.  The time spent correcting our course and cleaning up a mess cannot be recaptured.  Auto pilot is great when there are parameters set up to allow things to go well but in our lives if we don’t pay attention we may falter and stumble.  Even when we’re busy and pressed to accomplish much we can step back for a moment to ensure we plan our next steps effectively.  The old saying that “haste makes waste” can apply.  We don’t have to hurry to be successful.  We can be wise and careful, and still accomplish everything we set out to do.

Some people are great planners.  They may have several calendars to post their projects and tasks on, electronic reminders to alert them when something is due, or composed daily schedules that allocate time for each endeavor.  Planning is great and is a useful tool but planning is just a way to organize our tasks and doesn’t allow for unforeseen complications.  Nothing is set in stone and often things happen that impact even the best designed plans.  When complications arise, as they inevitably will, we can adapt to the changes and modify our course going forward to complete the task.  Change is constant and being willing to adjust our trajectory will allow us to address our needs and find success.

Life is unpredictable and sometimes something we want to accomplish isn’t possible now.  Perhaps the timing is wrong, or others who need to be involved are otherwise occupied, or we don’t have all the information to proceed.  There are few times in life when we are subject to unchangeable deadlines.  If we need to set something aside for now, we can.  It doesn’t mean we’ll never get it done, it just means we plan to accomplish it at a later time.  Being willing to adjust our timeframes and continue forward will help us complete all the tasks we desire and continue forward with success.  We can be flexible and change our parameters whenever we need to.  Things will change and the opportunity to complete every task will arise.  When it does we’ll be ready and able to move forward.

Today if you’ve got a lot to accomplish and you’re rushing from one item to the next, take a moment to think about how you want to proceed.  You are capable of doing great things and accomplishing much.  Give yourself time to plan your next step forward and be confident and aware.  You can do anything and do it well.  Success is always there for you and you will gain it.

It’s About Time

24 Aug

We often have many things to accomplish with our time and if we are overloaded we may dovetail items in an effort to get everything done.  Although we call this multi-tasking, current research indicates it’s impossible for us to concentrate on more than one thing at a time.  If we crunch everything together and push through them all at once we might get them done but we will never be able to pay attention to all the details needed to get everything done well.  When we’re pressed and feel pressure to finish projects we may believe we have no choice but to do them all at once.  Getting many things done is helpful when there is a lot to do but if we have to go back and fix things because we didn’t do them well the first time it may take more time in the end than if we had waited until we could do them right.  There is a balance between doing things and doing them well.  We live in an immediate gratification world.  Everyone seems to want everything right now and it can be hard to keep up.  We can acknowledge our abilities and recognize time constraints, and then make a plan that will allow us to move forward while still giving us the time we need to be successful.  No matter how much there is to do, we are in control of how we proceed.  We can be thoughtful and wise, and move forward effectively by carefully assessing what we need to do and the best way to get it done.  Success is always there for us.  We have everything we need to handle even very stressful situations and find the best way through.

Some people are very impatient.  When they want something done, they want it done immediately.  If they are powerful and task us with a project we may feel the need to drop everything else to address their request.  That may work sometimes but all our projects are important and if we stop in the middle of something to start another task we may lose our focus and momentum.  When we return to the first task we may have to start all over to find our way through.  Going backward will never take us forward.  Even if someone asks us to do something right away, we can decide where our priorities lie and make the best decision to manage everything.

We all want to be helpful when others ask us for assistance.  If we always agree to do everything we’re asked to do we may find our lives are filled with the needs of others and little time to live for ourselves.  If we are encompassed with chores and tasks we will likely burn out and feel frustrated.  We are in control of our lives and we never have to do more than we are comfortable with.  We can say no when we need to.  Our time is ours to manage and we can handle it in ways that bring us joy and happiness.

Today if you’re overwhelmed with everything you must accomplish, make a plan to get the most important tasks completed.  Be sure to schedule time for yourself to take a break and refresh.  You are capable and strong and can do anything you choose.  Remember how important you are and plan your time in ways that bring you confidence and joy.  There isn’t anything you can’t do and do well.  Take it step by step and you’ll succeed.

Cleaning Up

21 Aug

We make countless decisions as we go through our lives.  It’s not always easy to make the best choices and we can create a mess by making them quickly and without thought.  We all take a wrong turn once in a while but if we’re lazy and pass things off, choosing to let things happen as they will instead of purposely making a considered choice we may end up with a life filled with unnecessary complications and difficult scenarios that may have been avoided.  Instead of moving forward we may spend a lot of time cleaning up messes we’ve created by making bad choices.  The time spent turning things around again is time lost and cannot be used toward achieving our goals.  Deciding to live our lives thoughtfully takes effort but when we do we have a better chance of things going the way we want them to.  We can live our lives any way we choose.  If we like conflict and disharmony, it’s easy to create but both require time and energy to repair and keep our eyes from the road ahead.  Learning to live in ways that bring harmony and cooperation, and choosing to make choices carefully will take us closer to the goals we’re seeking and bring us satisfaction and happiness.

Our emotions lag behind our intellect.  When something happens that triggers a negative emotional response instead of taking time to think we may jump.  Instead of taking of moment to evaluate our next move, we may simply charge right back and make the situation worse.  We may allow our emotional reaction to decide how we’ll act.  Emotions are important and help us understand our world but when we let them decide how we’ll respond to conflict we may not get the best results.  We can step back for a moment and think about what’s best going forward before we act.  It isn’t easy to step back when we feel threatened or hurt but we have all the strength and wisdom we need to accomplish it.  Taking a moment to think first may save us additional duress going forward and help us resolve conflict before it gets out of hand.

If we choose to go through our lives reacting to things instead of taking time to respond in ways that help we may end up in situations that are heated and difficult to navigate.  Reactions are normal and when things happen that upset or confuse us if we don’t take a moment to stop and think we may do things that elevate the situation and make things worse.  We are always in control of our lives.  We can choose ways that make the road ahead easier instead of react in ways that make it harder.  There will always be conflict but how we manage it is up to us.  We can choose what’s best and make decisions that will prevent a mess going forward.

Today if you’re in a situation that is filled with conflict and you feel the tension rising within you, take a moment to step back and think about your options going forward.  You are in complete control of everything you do and you can make excellent choices that will bring harmony and peace into your life.  Choose the way forward that helps you keep your eyes on your goals.  There isn’t anything too difficult or complex for you to figure out.  You have everything you need to succeed.  Take your time and choose success.

Pointed Ahead

18 Aug

There are endless choices we can make about where we’ll go in our lives.  We can do what our families think we should, we can make choices based on our friends’ suggestions, or we can decide on our own where we want to go.  There are limitless opportunities and choices we can make and we may customize our lives any way we choose.  Before we begin, the first step is to decide where we want to go.  Important decisions take time and careful consideration and if we are undecided and begin walking forward unsure of where we’re headed we may end up somewhere we don’t want or even walking in circles.  Starting on a journey without a defined destination will not help us achieve anything we desire.  Being busy doesn’t always mean being productive and wandering around in circles may keep us moving but it will get us nowhere.  Before we start moving we must choose a destination and then plan our steps forward to reach the goal.  When our feet are pointed ahead in the direction we desire we have a good chance of reaching our goals.  We can go anywhere but first we must decide exactly what destination we desire.  We already know what we want most and have all the courage and wisdom needed to achieve anything.  There isn’t anything we can’t do and no place we can’t go.  Choosing carefully will help us find success.  Everything is available to us once we decide we will do what it takes to get it.  Every choice is ours to make.  We can choose what we want most and point our feet in the direction needed to achieve it.

It’s easy to coast through life going here and there with no destination in mind.  It’s easy to go with the flow of other people’s decisions and play along even if the goal isn’t something we really want.  But going along and simply taking things as they come will never help us get to the destinations we want most.  We can do anything but we must take control of our time and decisions and move forward toward our goal with determination.  Happiness comes from living our lives on purpose and choosing our own way forward.  We can accomplish anything we desire and begin forward on the road that will take us to success.

Everyone has their own ideas about life and what is best.  What is right for others may not be what we want.  We don’t have to conform to anyone’s suggestions about our future and we can determine our way forward on our own.  We know what we want to accomplish, we know where we want to go, and we know how to find success.  Being true to our sincere desires will bring us happiness as we move forward on the road that is genuinely ours.  Each day we choose what is best for us will take us one step closer to success and real happiness.

Today if you want to change direction from the road you’ve been on but there is pressure to stay on course, remember your life is yours to design.  You can go anywhere you want.  Point your feet in the direction you desire and begin forward.  There isn’t anything you can’t do and every step with take you closer to the life you want most.  This is your day.  Move forward with confidence.  It’s all there for you.
