Essential

Essential

The world is a big place with billions of people, who are busy going about their lives. There’s always a lot going on and each individual is making continuous decisions that impact the world around them in some way. When we think of how large the world is, and then ponder the universe and beyond, we may wonder how anything we do could make any difference in a creation so large. When others around us are powerful and loud, and we are not, it’s easy to feel invisible. It may seem we’re insignificant and easily overlooked, and that may impact our confidence. The old saying that, “The squeaky wheel gets the grease,” is true. Loud people will get a lot of attention simply because they are loud. But that doesn’t mean they are wiser or more valuable than we are. Everything we do impacts the world around us in some way and everything is different simply because we are here. Whether our impact is positive or negative, is a result of the decisions we make. Our contribution is essential, but what kind of effect we have is up to us. Believing what we do doesn’t matter is a fool’s game. One single drop of rain changes the earth. One drop can mean the difference between life and death to a thirsty plant. What we do has far greater ramifications than a single drop of water. Every single decision we make brings a result. Some are of little consequence, but they still count. We are each individual, unique and exclusive. There isn’t anyone exactly like us in all of creation. What we bring to the world, and the gifts we have to offer can only be given by us. Our presence enriches everything. Remembering how valuable and important we are to the whole, will help us reach higher and achieve great success.

As we go through our days, our routines can become the norm. The constant busyness of life can consume our time, and we may set aside the things we most want to accomplish. There is great worth is living successfully and meeting our responsibilities, but our dreams are important. We can plan our lives in ways that allow us to accomplish what needs to be done, and still have time to work toward our personal goals. We are the most important person in our lives. Planning for what we most desire will bring us great happiness and satisfaction.

Some people are strong willed and bossy. They know what they want and will do whatever it takes to get it. If we must interact with them, they may try to enlist us to accomplish tasks that will take time away from us but move them forward. If they have authority over us, we may have to comply, but if not, we can step away and choose our own path. We have so much to offer and everyone is blessed in some way because we are here. By trusting ourselves and understanding our importance, we can move forward with confidence, sure of success.

Today if you’ve been feeling invisible, as though your contribution doesn’t count, think again. You are incredibly important to the world and bring gifts nobody else could offer. Your value is priceless and precious. Believe in yourself and step forward with confidence. Your light embellishes the world, and blesses us all.

Closing the Book

18 Feb

When we read a book, we open our minds to new ideas that increase our understanding of the world and those around us. We enjoy the learning and when we’re finished, can close the book, and put it on a shelf where it may remain. In our lives we’ll have millions of experiences. Some of the lessons will be fun and enjoyable, but others might bring sadness, and heartbreak. Each is important, and as we move forward, we can draw on all we’ve learned to help us as we move ahead. A new challenge may be similar to something we’ve already gone through, and like pulling a book back off the shelf, we can remember what happened and how we navigated it, looking for clues that will assist us now. That’s helpful when we prevailed before, but if what happened was left unresolved and painful, opening it back up may flood us with difficult emotions. We may be temporarily paralyzed as we recall everything that went wrong and how much it hurt. It may feel like we’ve been transported back in time and are going through it all over again. The past is gone, and we are in complete control of what we’re doing now. We can step back and objectively view what has happened and look at where we are. No memory can keep us in place. We are strong and can do anything we like. Every book has a lesson, and when we’re ready, we can close it, and move on. We’re in control of our lives and our future is ours to design. Life is filled with challenges, but nothing can keep us from anything we desire. Remembering how strong and capable we are, and trusting ourselves to prevail no matter what comes, enables us to step forward, confident we will succeed.

When we cut ourselves, our bodies respond immediately to heal the cut and create a scar. At first, scars are thick and tough, but over time they smooth out and flatten to blend in with the surrounding skin. It’s the same when an experience hurts us. In the beginning, we may put up barriers to prevent from being injured further, but as time passes, as we begin to trust we can let those walls come down a little. It’s good to protect ourselves, but if we want to build connections and create relationships, we must be willing to start again.

If we’ve suffered through a terrible experience that has hurt us deeply, we may decide to retreat and try to keep to ourselves. Avoiding relationships and isolating ourselves may make us feel safer but will not guarantee we’ll never be hurt again. Instead of hiding we can remember all the times we’ve overcome adversity in the past and trust ourselves to manage anything that happens. We are more powerful than we realize, and nothing can keep us from moving forward.

Today if you’re going through something that brings back a past disappointment, remember how strong and capable you are. Close the book on what has passed, and step forward with confidence. You are more wise and powerful than you imagine, and nothing can keep you from success. Trust yourself. The best is yet to come.

Repercussion

17 Feb

Each day brings decisions we must make. Every choice will have a result and if the situation isn’t serious or far reaching, those results may be inconsequential. We constantly make routine decisions without much thought. We simply decide what we want to do and move on. But life is complicated and eventually we’ll face a serious decision that may impact our lives in big ways. If we understand how important the situation is before we choose, and are able to get all the facts, we have a better chance of navigating it well, but there may be times when something that seems simple and straight forward turns out to be very complex and significant. The repercussions of a big decision can impact us in ways we never imagined and turn our course in a direction we didn’t see coming. We don’t know what we don’t know, and if we can’t get all the facts before we choose, we may end up going somewhere we never intended. Everything we do affects our lives in some way. Big choices will come, issues will arise, and we may get very tangled in a situation we never imagined. It doesn’t matter how complex or difficult the issue is, we can find the answers we need. It’s hard to face a situation we don’t like, but nothing is permanent and no matter where we are, or what direction we’re traveling, we have everything we need to change it. Life is full of experiences. Some of them will be wonderful and fulfilling, and some will bring hardship and trouble. We are wise and capable, and can face anything that arises with confidence and certainty. Nothing can hold us in place, and we will prevail.

Nobody knows us better than we know ourselves. People can only see us from the outside – what we do, where we go, and how we look – but can never know what we’re thinking. When we’re facing difficult challenges, others may give us advice and tell us how to proceed based on what they can see. But we know what we want and are perceptive enough to understand what we need to do. Our decisions are ours to make and we have all wisdom and clarity we need to make them well.

If a decision we’ve made goes south and all our plans crash and burn, we may think we’re doomed. We may believe there’s nothing we can do to fix the situation and we’ll never succeed. It may seem like the end, but that will never be true. We can change anything at any time. It may not be easy, and we may struggle to fix what has gone wrong, but we are stronger and more powerful than we imagine and have everything we need to correct our course.

Today if a choice you’ve made has turned out badly and there are problems and complications, don’t give up. You already possess everything you need to adjust your course and correct the situation. You have all the wisdom and courage necessary to find the way forward. Decide what you want and be confident. Nothing can keep you from success. The whole world is there for you, and you will win.

Power Outage

16 Feb

Electricity is a wonderful thing. When we have a good source of it, we can cook, dry our hair, turn on lights, use our computers, and a thousand other important tasks. It’s great when everything is working well, and we hardly give it a second thought – that is until something comes along that knocks it out. A storm may happen that wipes everything out and the electrical grid no longer functions. When nothing turns on, we’re left shivering in the dark, and all we can do is wait, we remember what a blessing it is when everything works. In our personal lives, we may push ourselves to do more and more, and press against hard deadlines with all our energy and focus. It’s great to be completely inspired to accomplish something, but it’s impossible to keep up an all-out level of energy indefinitely. Just like a power outage, we may reach a point where exhaustion takes over, nothing is working like it was and we must regroup. When that happens, we can try to push forward through the struggle, but chances are our fatigue will get in the way. We are powerful and strong, but every system has its limit. Pushing beyond what works may end up costing us more time than if we pay attention to what we need and take care of ourselves first. Slowing down will not keep us from the goal. Stopping for a break will refresh us, and as we rest, new ideas will appear we may have missed in our rush to the finish line. We are capable of accomplishing great things and nothing can keep us from success, but we don’t have to do everything today. There is time to take care of ourselves, and work in ways that help us continue forward without completely depleting our energy reserves. By trusting ourselves and using wisdom, we can accomplish any goal intelligently and effectively. Success is always there for us, and we will achieve it.

Some people believe in giving everything they’ve got, and pushing beyond what is comfortable, in their desire to reach success. It’s good to strive for the goal and do what is needed to succeed, but we never have to extend further than what is reasonable. We can reach the destination we’re seeking without destroying ourselves in the process. By being thoughtful and focused, we can accomplish anything we desire, and with clarity, reach the goal.

Moving as fast as possible may get us to the prize quickly, but we may miss some important cues along the way. It does no good to reach a locked door first if we didn’t take the time needed to get the key before we arrived. Reaching the final door is just part of the objective. It’s important to reach it with everything we need to open it and take advantage of all its benefits. We are intelligent, and have everything we need to do anything we desire. We can reach any goal with patience and wisdom, and find great success.

Today if you’ve been pushing yourself harder and harder to get to a goal as fast as possible, remember to take the time you need to see everything clearly. All the answers are there for you and by focusing on the journey, you will find them. You are amazing. There is great success ahead, and nothing will keep you from it.

From Behind

12 Feb

We have millions of different experiences as we go through our lives. Each one teaches us something that we take forward with us. When we learn something valuable, it enriches us and helps us move ahead with increased confidence. But not every experience is positive, and there will be times when things go wrong, and we get hurt. We can heal from anything that happens, but the memory of the experience will remain. Our personalities and identity reflect everything we’ve seen and learned as we’ve progressed through our lives. As we move forward, we carry everything that’s happened so far with us. If we’ve been through serious and devastating trials, or if we’ve been deeply hurt, the echoes of those memories will stay with us and when we least expect it, may surface and come up from behind to color our decisions moving forward. The past can never predict the future but may influence the decisions we make moving ahead. Bad memories may rise and make us doubt ourselves or the situation we’re in. If we’re afraid of repeating an old mistake, or getting tangled up all over again, we may decide to stay in place instead of stepping forward. We can do anything we like but standing in place will never move us ahead. What’s passed is over and can never be changed, and has no control over what we do or where we go. Nothing can keep us from any destination we desire. We are strong and capable, and can be confident and sure we will succeed. Every single dream is possible, and we will make them ours.

There are lots of people around us who may offer their opinions and advice, whether we ask for them or not. If they’ve seen us stumble in the past, they may tell us we cannot accomplish something we’re striving for. We can listen to any advice we’re given, but we don’t need permission or agreement to live our lives any way we choose. We know where we want to go and can find the answers and tools we need to get there. Our futures are determined by the choices we make, and we can go anywhere and do anything. Nothing can hold us in place when we’re ready to move, and we will succeed.

It’s hard to carry heavy boxes a long way. They are cumbersome and difficult, and slow us down. Carrying around past disappointments may restrict us and prevent us from reaching our most desired goals. Mistakes of the past are not like tattoos. They don’t mark us permanently and have no power over our futures. Falling down hurts, but we can learn by what went wrong, and take that information with us, leaving the pain behind. By honoring everything we’ve experienced and learning all we can, we can move ahead with confidence and increased clarity. The whole world is there for us, and we will prevail.

Today if you’re struggling because of something that happened before, stop, and decide what you want. Let go of the disappointments from the past and focus on the road ahead. Your future is yours to design. Nothing can keep you from success, and every dream is waiting for you.
