Wrangling Horses

17 Sep

Life is filled with all kinds of experiences, some predictable and easy, and some we can’t predict or even imagine until they’re upon us. Most of the time we can manage whatever comes, but sometimes we may find ourselves in very difficult and complex issues we have to work out that confuse us and make the way forward very hard to find. We may be able to see the issue clearly and have some idea of how to get through, but the process of fixing it may be more convoluted and confounding than we can easily unravel. Like wrangling wild horses, we can see what needs to be done, but it won’t be easy. Before we can manage them, first we have to catch them, secure them, and then we can move forward. If there are many steps that must be accomplished and the way ahead is fraught with details and complications we can’t change, we may feel overwhelmed. We may begin to believe we can’t solve the issue and there is no way to step forward. There isn’t anything so difficult and intense that we can’t manage. No matter how hard the problem is or how confusing it appears at the beginning, we can unravel it little by little until we resolve it. Nothing is impossible and with faith and courage we can trust ourselves to find the answers we need to move forward. The highest mountain in the world can be climbed step by step. We can take the time we need to see everything objectively and clearly, and then begin to unravel each issue before us until we’ve completely solved the problem. We are strong and steadfast, and nothing can keep us from success. We already possess all the intelligence and wisdom we need to do anything. Nothing can hold us in place or keep us from moving forward. Success is always there for us and we will reach it.

When we have a lot going on, which may be most of the time, an unexpected problem or complication can stop us in our tracks. Everyone wants an easy life where everything goes right, but that isn’t reality. Problems will arise and we may be pressed and frustrated trying to push ahead. If we’re flexible and open to every possibility, we will more easily find the answers we need when things go wrong. It isn’t easy to untangle a knot, but no matter how tightly wound or complex it is, we can figure it out. Nothing is beyond our capabilities and with patience and perseverance, we will prevail.

If we’ve been working a problem for a while and it seems every time we solve one issue another appears, we may tire of the struggle. It’s hard to remain focused and engaged when there are a lot of disappointments. But nothing is too difficult for us and if we step away for a time, we can regroup and look at everything again. When we’re clear, new answers will appear and we can begin again with a fresh perspective. Every problem can be solved and nothing is beyond our grasp. We are smart and wise, and can do anything we desire.

Today if you you’re wrestling with a problem that’s confusing and difficult, remember how capable and strong you are. You will find all the answers you need. Have faith and be confident. You are amazing and proficient. Take another step forward. Success is just ahead and you will reach it.

Tangled

17 May

When there are many wires and cords in the same location they sometimes get tangled.  They may get moved or bumped and fall under one another, pulled against each other, twist and turn around and create a big knot we eventually have to patiently pull apart strand by strand.  It’s frustrating and can be time consuming to get everything separated again and lined up the way we want it.  The decisions we make in our lives move us in different directions and if we ignore boundaries, include others in private matters, share information we’ve been asked to keep to ourselves or made other decisions without thinking, we may find our lives as tangled and convoluted as a mess of cords.  It takes effort to live a clean self-directed life filled with careful decisions and thoughtful choices.  If we make continual decisions based on what’s easy at the moment without considering where they will take us in the end we may complicate our lives in ways that bring us discomfort and frustration.  Like untangling a knot of wires it will take time to unravel the problems and correct our course.  We can take the time we need to make wise choices and choose the path forward that is clear and open.  We are wise enough to see problems in our path and navigate around them so we can continue to move forward with confidence and clarity.  We can move forward without the tangle of bad decisions and find success.

Trust is something we earn by the choices we make.  When others trust us they feel confident working and sharing personal information with us.  If someone tells us something in confidence and we share it with others we may lose the trust they have in us.  When that happens we create a small twist in our lives.  If we do it again the small twist may become a knot and we may find ourselves in a tangle.  Everything we do takes us somewhere.  If we break confidences and ignore the trust placed in us we may lose connections to those around us. We may tangle our lives up and it may be hard to get things back on track.

It’s difficult to make decisions freely when we are constricted by prior choices that bind us up and prevent us from moving forward.  If we’ve chosen the wrong path and have made poor choices in the past our freedom to progress may be stalled.  Nothing is unchangeable and we can correct our course and begin to unravel any situation that is holding us in place.  We can choose wisely to repair any problem we’ve created and re-align our way forward.  Nobody is perfect and we all stumble from time to time.  With patience we can do what is needed to fix any problem before us and continue forward with renewed confidence and wisdom.

Today if you’ve tangled your life up with decisions that have complicated the way forward you can take the time you need to correct your course.  Nothing is forever and you can change anything you need to be successful.  Today choose wisely and determine to go forward with confidence.  Make choices that will bring you the success you are seeking.  You have everything you need to accomplish anything and nothing will hold you back.

Cracks

Cracks

“There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.” Leonard Cohen

It seems our lives would be wonderful if everything went the way we wanted it to. It would be so much easier if there were no complications and things always worked out in our favor. When our lives are difficult and there is a lot of static, lots of things going awry and we’re busy trying to sort it all out, we might wish things were different. We understand that nothing is perfect and we cope with problems and obstacles in our way as they come up. We are capable of managing any complication we face but sometimes we wish it was easier. It’s the nature of life to be imperfect. Very few natural things are flawless and there are cracks everywhere. But the cracks aren’t just imperfections, they are also openings that let light shine through. That light can bring us new ideas, show us new roads, or unveil new destinations for us going forward. When we’re stressed and something goes wrong, often we find information that helps us going forward. We gain strength from the conflict, patience from the endurance, and sometimes find new direction in the experience. Cracks in the plan sometimes open up new horizons and take us places we never dreamed of.

Wood grain can be very beautiful. There are many kinds of woods, many colors and hues, many different types of grain and when they are cut and polished they all have a unique beauty. There are imperfect knots in wood which are formed when branches drop off as the trunk of the tree expands and the grain grows around the remaining base of the branch. Knots are usually considered defects and are generally harder than the surrounding grain which can make sawing difficult. But although they are imperfections, they are quite beautiful and add a lot to the finished product. If the wood were completely flawless with all the grain lines running perfectly straight it would be boring. The knots add interest, beauty and character to the wood. Yes, they are imperfect but that imperfection is what makes them so lovely.

Nobody wants a life filled with problems. We all want things to go well and be able to move forward without a lot of drama. Sometimes that happens but most of the time we have to adjust to one thing or another in order to progress. If we can see the complications as opportunities to learn something new and chances to expand our understanding, we will navigate them more easily. There may be cracks in the armor as we go forward but they will open up new ideas that help us continue. There may be knots in the wood as we try to make something happen, but if we polish them and see how they shine we can find new ways to get to the destination. If we can see beauty in the confusion, and possibilities in the problems, we’ll conquer whatever we must face.

Today if you’re in a situation with a lot of complications and feel overwhelmed, look at the possibilities before you. Each difficulty brings new ideas and opportunities to see things differently. Take a good look at everything. There is light shining through to show you the way. You will see it and find success.
