Stirring It

16 Nov

We make continual decisions as we go through our lives. Each choice has a result and if we’re careful and take our time, chances are the results we get will be the ones we hope for. But we are complex beings and there is sometimes more involved than just making a good decision. If what we’re doing will affect those around us, they will play a part in the choices we make. Maybe they hurt us in the past, and we carry bitter feelings that affect which way we’ll go. If there is a way to get what we want and hurt them back in the process, we might opt for that even if it’s not exactly the best choice to make. There is always the possibility of stirring up trouble if we want to. We might think it’s fair – you hurt me, I hurt you – evens the score. Well maybe. But evening the score rarely brings lasting satisfaction and might cause more trouble for us moving forward. Life is complicated enough without trying to tangle it up further by purposely hurting someone else. Nobody gets a free pass, and we’re all going to get hurt at some point. What we do with that is up to us. We can seek revenge, and determine to get it no matter what. We could let it eat away at us and consume our thoughts. Or we can get through it more wisely by learning all we can from what’s happened, and using that knowledge to help propel us forward in the future. One thing is certain – the anger and resentment we hold will only hurt us. It will have no affect on those who caused it. We don’t need to be hurt any more than what we’ve already experienced. By holding onto everything we’ve learned, we can let go of any bad feelings and step forward confident we’ll reach success. Nobody is strong enough to stop us from reaching our goals. They may stand in our way, but there are other roads we can travel. We are powerful and wise, and will prevail.

Our lives are ours to design. We can reach any goal or destination we choose. It doesn’t matter if others disagree with us or try to stop us in our tracks. We are intelligent and will find the way forward. Some people are threatened by the success of others, and if we’re winning, may try to prevent us from advancing. They may well delay our progress, but nothing stays the same forever, and in time, we’ll be able to navigate around them. Every dream is there for us, and we can do anything with patience and determination.

Some people love to stir up conflict. They enjoy seeing people confused and frustrated. If we must interact with them, we may become the subject of their difficult intervention. They may do things to hurt us or make our progress forward harder than it needs to be. We can’t make anyone else behave appropriately, but we can control everything we do. They may goad us and tease us, but we never have to take the bait. We can be confident and make excellent choices to be true to who we are and where we want to go.

Today if you’re dealing with someone who is trying to pull you away from your goals, keep your focus on what you want the most. You are stronger and more powerful than you think you are. Be confident. All your dreams are possible, and they will be yours.

Paving the Road

10 Nov

Every day we make lots of decisions about what we’re doing, where we’re going, and how we want to proceed. Sometimes, we can see where the decision will take us, and we move forward confident we’ll end up with the results we seek. Every road has a destination, and with careful thought and planning, we can get where we want to go. But not everything is obvious at the start, and we may be sure we’re headed on the right road while going in the opposite direction. All our goals are possible but everything we do either helps pave the road ahead or creates obstacles that get in the way. Which way things will go depends on the decisions we make with each step. Nobody wants to complicate their lives on purpose or tries to create more problems moving forward. Even though we may try to make the best decisions possible, we might still get hung up and stopped. We have no control over what others are doing or what will happen. The only thing we can control is what we do, and it’s possible that even if we’ve planned well, and tried to be ready for every conceivable eventually, something unexpected may happen that keeps us from success. If we do all we can to pave the road ahead and prepare in advance, no matter what comes, we’ll find the way through. Nothing is powerful enough to keep us from success. It might be delayed as we navigate through complications, but we will prevail. Life is filled with surprises and we may be pushed off course. But there are endless roads to every single destination, and we are smart enough and courageous enough to find the way forward. We may not reach it today, and tomorrow may be difficult, but with persistence and confidence, we will reach the goal. We have everything we need to do anything we desire. Each step forward gets us closer, and we will win.

There are endless choices before us with each decision we make. What we decide will either help us move forward or hold us in place. If we’re careless or rush before we get all the facts, we may choose things that create roadblocks and detours on the road ahead. We may spend countless hours trying to move around avoidable issues and problems. By taking the time we need to see everything before we jump, the journey will be easier, and we will reach the destination.

Everyone has their own opinions about life and what we should do. Before we begin toward a goal, we may get lots of advice about moving forward. We can certainly heed any suggestion or guidance we’re given, but nobody knows us better than we know ourselves. We already know what we want and where we want to go, and have all the wisdom and intelligence we need to get there. Every dream is possible, and with determination and faith, we can accomplish anything.

Today if the road ahead is convoluted and complex, remember how wise and capable you are. There isn’t anything you can’t manage. Make decisions that will pave the way to success, and step forward with confidence. You are amazing and powerful. Every destination is already there for you. Move ahead sure of success, and you’ll reach it.

Aftermath

6 Nov

Weather is unpredictable. We might be enjoying a completely sunny day, when suddenly dark clouds roll in and a storm begins to blow. There might be advanced warning so we can prepare, but things can change quickly and unexpectedly, and we may get caught in a deluge without cover. The same is true in our personal lives. One moment we’re sailing along on a clear road, easily moving toward our goals, and then something happens that completely changes the landscape ahead. When everything suddenly turns upside down it’s hard to gain our footing and figure out exactly what to do. But we are intelligent and capable, and there isn’t any problem so complex or daunting that can hold us in place indefinitely. All the answers we need will always be there for us, and with patience and focus, we’ll find them. That doesn’t mean we won’t suffer or need time to recover after the worst is over. Some things can change our lives so dramatically that we cannot return to where we were. The aftermath of a storm may leave 100 year old trees knocked to the ground, and flood waters in places that have never seen them before. If our lives are so altered by events out of our control, that we are turned around and facing a completely new direction, the aftermath may leave us scarred and unsure. The future may seem intimidating and we may have no idea how to proceed. Getting pushed off course and turned around will make it hard to discern the road ahead. We can take our time and stand still until we can see clearly where we want to go. Having to travel on a new road will not prevent us from reaching any goal we desire. There are endless roads to every destination, and we have everything we need to reach them.

Everyone wants an easy life. We may think it would be perfect if every road was clear and nothing got in our way. It would certainly be easier to move forward if there were no obstacles, but if all our goals were easy to reach, we would lose the great experience that trials bring us. When we get stopped, we must re-think our plans and find answers to help us start again. Every experience gives us new skills to carry forward and enables us to reach success more easily. Trouble will come to us all, and valuing what we’re learning as we navigate through whatever problem we’re facing will help us understand ourselves and the world around us.

We may face a situation that is so intense and negative it changes the way we see ourselves and our future lives. What was once possible may be gone and where we were headed may no longer work. Every storm has an aftermath. How it affects our lives may be out of our control. That doesn’t mean we can’t be successful, but our success may look completely different than when we started.

Today if something has happened that has completely upended your plans, and you’re facing a new direction, trust yourself. There isn’t anything you can’t manage. Success is still there for you and you will reach it. Look at everything clearly and decide how you want to proceed. Every destination is possible and your will prevail.

Perfectly Imperfect

3 Nov

We all have goals we want to accomplish. Some of them are places we want to go, or things we want to do, and others may be very personal. Perhaps we want to change our personality in some way, or change our appearance, lose or gain weight, become more muscular, or change the way we dress and present ourselves. The world is full of suggestions and there is a pervasive implication that if we will only try harder, we can be perfect. The problem of course, is that perfection is generally unattainable. It may be the goal, but will rarely, if ever, be the achievement. Those ads featuring gorgeous, and completely fit happy people, are just actors, altered and enhanced by computer technology. There are extremely few examples of perfection in nature, and although we may strive for it, nobody in life is perfect. Our idiosyncrasies and unique expressions may seem to keep us from a level of perfection we desire, but they also make us interesting and deepen our personalities and appearances. Imagine how boring it would be if everyone looked and acted perfectly all the time. The excitement of meeting someone new is enhanced by learning about them and seeing their individual interpretations and expressions. It’s fun to get to know them and unravel what makes them tick. Everyone is different and expresses their own version of perfect imperfection. Our lives are ours to design and if we want to, we can spend a lot of time, energy and resources trying to change who and what we are to fit some model we admire. But in the end, we’ll still be ourselves, flaws and all. Loving what makes us unique and special in our own way, will bring us great comfort and blessing to the world around us.

Oftentimes it seems we always want what we don’t have. People with curly hair want it straight, and vice versa. Old people want to be young, and youngsters long to be grown up. The grass may seem greener on the other side of the fence, but every situation has its problems and blessings. No matter where we are, some things will be great and other things will be a hassle. We will excel in some areas and struggle in others. It’s the nature of life. There will be few times when everything will be exactly as we want it. All these things give us experience and help us to better understand ourselves and the world around us. Being thankful for where we are right now will bring us joy and great comfort.

Change is constant and if we’re unhappy where we are, we can always do what is necessary to make things different. We are never frozen in time, unable to move or modify our lives. By deciding what we want most, and then moving toward the goal with confidence and clarity, we can have the lives we dream about. Nothing is out of reach and we will succeed.

Today if you’ve been trying to fit into a perfect model of yourself, remember you are precious just as you are. Be confident and grateful for what you possess now. Your influence is a gift to the world, and we’re all blessed because you are here.

Down A Peg

30 Oct

There are all kinds of people in the world, and we’ll interact with many of them as we navigate through our lives. Some will be nice, and easy to talk to, others may be aloof and standoffish, and some may be mean and hateful. The spectrum of behaviors and expressions is unlimited and varied, but building friendships and connections help us pave the road ahead. Finding others with similar beliefs and common life patterns encourages us to form alliances and strengthen bonds. It’s good to have a network around us filled with people we can trust and honor, who offer us the same in return. But not everyone is interested in getting close. Some people are highly competitive and see those around them merely as stepping stones to get closer to what they want. If we’re in their way, they may push us aside and storm past without looking back. It’s impossible to befriend someone who only sees themselves. If they are only interested in what the world can give them and don’t care about anyone else’s feelings, it will be difficult to form any kind of lasting bond. If we must work with them it may be hard to get our opinions and ideas heard. We can try to speak up and stand strong, but they may do everything in their power to knock us down a peg, and keep us quiet. We all have something of value to offer. Nobody knows everything or has all the best ideas. We’re entitled to our own views and opinions, and can be confident in expressing them. They are not worth less because someone doesn’t want to hear them. We are never devalued just because someone thinks they are better or more important than we are. We can be confident and strong in expressing ourselves in every situation. Every dream is possible, and every success can be ours. No one can stop us from achieving our goals, and nothing can keep us from any destination we desire.

Some people believe they are somehow more essential and meaningful than the rest of us. They are confident that they have the right answers to whatever questions may arise and don’t really care about anyone else’s viewpoint or opinion. It’s good to have a strong self-image and high standards, but if we minimize the importance of others, we will miss the chance to hear new ideas, and expand our understanding. Nobody has all the answers. We can be sure of ourselves and still recognize contributions from those around us.

If we are timid or unsure, we may hesitate to speak up and share our thoughts when problems arise, but we are unique, and nobody sees the world exactly as we do. Everyone’s perception is different, and we alone may hold the keys that show the way to success. We can share our opinions and trust ourselves to find the answers we seek. We are wise and capable, and the whole world is embellished because we are here.

Today if someone is trying to hold you back and keep you quiet, remember your ideas and opinions are valuable and important. Speak up and step forward with confidence. Nothing is strong enough to hold you in place. Every success you desire is there for you. Be confident and sure. You are amazing and powerful, and all your dreams are possible.
