Pigs

There are all kinds of people in the world doing all kinds of things. Some are honest and above board, and we can trust them to tell the truth and clearly state their objectives. There are others though, who will do or say anything to get what they want. They don’t care about anyone but themselves and their own objectives, and will change facts to suit their agenda. They may lie to our faces, and adamantly profess they are being completely clear and honest. We may believe what they say, only to discover later that nothing is true. It’s painful and disappointing, and we may be devastated if we find ourselves accomplices in something we do not want and don’t support. Everyone is accountable for everything they do, but that accountability may not occur in the immediate future. Skillful liars and cheats know how to work the system, and those around them. The may perfect their con game in ways that make it hard to expose them, but truth always rises and cannot be held back indefinitely. Putting lipstick on a pig doesn’t change it. It’s still a pig. When all the facts are visible, and every lie is uncovered, we will see things as they truly are. It’s good to trust others, and we are never at fault when our trust has been betrayed. We can face things as they are, accept what’s gone wrong, and correct our course moving forward. Nobody can hold us down forever. Every truth will come to light, and we will find our way forward.

Our families and close friends are important connections. We want to support them and help them when they ask. We may face a time when they want us to go along with something untoward or dishonest. They may decide to cheat to achieve a goal they are seeking, and ask us to help them accomplish it. Although we care for them, doing things that compromise our own personal ethics and standards will not enhance our relationship. We never have to do anything we don’t agree with, and may politely and firmly decline any request.

Some people think honesty and ethics are on a sliding scale. They believe that being honest most of the time is enough and may think if nobody knows what they’re doing, they can break any rule without consequence. That may work for a time, but eventually every fact will be revealed, and every action displayed. There is no way to run from the truth. It is powerful and unstoppable. By choosing well, and holding fast to the standards we set, we can reach every goal successfully, and find great satisfaction and reward.

Today if someone is pushing you to go along with something you don’t agree with, stand firm. You know who you are and what you want. Set the example for truth, and be confident. You are a light to the world, and we’re all blessed because you are here. Show us your best, and every success will be yours.

Exempt

We share the world with billions of other people, and there will always be people coming and going in and out of our lives. They interact with us, work with us, share families with us, or just see us in passing. Everyone is different and we’re all doing different things. In an effort to make things go more smoothly, there are rules for civility and politeness that help us all get along without increasing friction. Most of us try to be pleasant and polite, and don’t get up in other people’s faces just to annoy them. We try to get along and be positive, but there is always the exception. No matter where we are, there may be someone who is rude and difficult, who may make our lives miserable. They have bad manners, interrupt us when we’re speaking, leave a trail of trash behind them, and ignore any suggestions for improvement. They don’t care how they affect others or if they degrade those around them. It’s very hard to deal with people like this. They can complicate our days and when they come around, we may try anything to avoid them. People will do what they will do, but we can hold fast to the standards we set. There will always be many roads to get to our goals, and we can find ways around any problem that arises. We can be polite even if those we encounter are not. The road to success is rarely paved and clear, but we have everything we need to move ahead, no matter what is standing in the way.

Some people are very good at telling others what they should do, how they should act, and where they should go. They constantly preach and pontificate, giving instructions regarding whatever is happening around them. They are great at explaining the rules and demanding compliance, but because they see themselves as set apart on a higher plane, feel they are exempt from following them. They simply do what they want, and expect others to accept it. It is never appropriate to set standards for others we do not intend to follow. We are all part of the whole, and if one must comply, we should all comply.

We are all human beings sharing the planet at the same time. Although some may have fame and fortune, some may have privilege and power, nobody is more worthwhile than anyone else. Our circumstances do not determine our value. We are precious and priceless because we are unique, and there isn’t anyone now, nor has there ever been anyone who can offer the gifts we have to give. We deserve complete happiness, and can do what is necessary to achieve it. Every blessing is there for us, and every dream is possible.

Today if you must deal with someone who is unpleasant and rude, remember how valuable you are. Set the example for excellence and step forward with confidence. You know what you want and nothing is out of reach. Be the best you can be, and every destination will be yours.

Candy Coated

There are billions of people on the planet earth. They come in and out of our lives continually and as we interact with them, our connections may be positive, negative or somewhere in between. Everyone thinks they are good judges of character and some of us can spot phony baloney from 30 paces. But it isn’t always easy to recognize someone who is pretending to be something they aren’t. If someone wants something from us and doesn’t care how they manipulate us to get it, they may be very good actors. They may look the part, say all the right things, and convince us they are on our side when the truth may be very different. If we take a spoonful of mustard and freeze it, then roll it in a ball and dip it in chocolate, we could set it in a box of chocolate bon bons and it would blend right in. Nobody would know it wasn’t a delicious fudge filled truffle until they actually took a bite and got a mouthful of bitter, strong mustard. Candy coating can cover a lot of blemishes and can hide what lies inside. Flattering words, considerate gestures, and smiling agreement can make us believe something that isn’t real. We are intelligent and if we dig just a little deeper and scatch the surface a little more, we will get more information that will help us understand the situation as it really is instead of how it appears to be. People will do what they will do, but we are in control of our lives and can be wise as we move forward. We are extremely capable and smart. Nothing can fool us indefinitely and we will uncover the truth. By taking our time to see everything clearly, we can make excellent decisions, and build strong connections that will lead us to success.

It’s very pleasing to have someone else’s admiration. When they tell us we’re brilliant, or beautiful, or look at us with unwavering devotion we may be swept away. It all looks so wonderful, and it might be. But there are opposites in everything and we may face a time when someone we thought was angelic turns out to be the devil himself. Okay, maybe not THE devil, but someone who is intentionally leading us astray in an effort to get us to do something or take something from us. Nobody can do anything perfectly, and even the most practiced liar will stumble. If we don’t get caught up and pay attention, we will see things as they truly are, and be able to make wise decisions about our next step.

Most people are good and it’s good to trust those around us. We don’t have to be suspicious of everyone’s motivations, but we can keep our eyes open and listen carefully. Nobody is going to look out for us like we look out for ourselves. Truth is powerful. It can be hidden for a time but it cannot be help back forever. We are intelligent and wise, and with patience and focus, we will discover it, and find success.

Today if you have doubts about someone near you, trust your instincts. Look for the truth in every interaction. You are wiser and more powerful than you imagine, and will find the best way forward. Every single blessing is waiting for you, and every destination is possible. Be strong and stand firm. Step forward with clarity, and take charge. All your dreams are there, and you can make them yours.

Stopping and Starting

Every day we make lots of decisions. We decide where we’ll go, who we’ll meet, what we’ll do and many other things. Our lives are under our own control, and we decide how we’ll live them. Although we all know what we want, we might find ourselves doing things that hold us back from the goals we want to achieve or prevent us from moving forward. We may be making choices that put barriers in our path, and prevent us from getting closer to where we really want to be. We may want to lose weight, but continue to have desert – after every meal. We may want a different job, but don’t take the time to look at what’s out there. Or we may want more freedom, but continue to do things that hold us down. There are millions of reasons why we may sabotage ourselves, but if we seriously want something, we can change what isn’t working and start again. We can stop doing what keeps us from success, and start doing what will move us closer to it. Every decision is ours alone to make. It doesn’t matter how long we’ve been putting something off, how many times we’ve tried and failed, or if others don’t support our choice. We can have the lives we dream of if we’re willing to do what’s needed to make them ours. This life is a great blessing, and we can live it fully in ways that express who we really are. Every single destination is possible, and with clarity and focus we can go anywhere, and do anything.

Relationships are important, but if we’re in a situation where one is holding us back from the life we really want, we can step back and look at all the options possible. If it’s a family relationship, we can find ways to stay connected without being intensely involved. If it’s an intimate relationship that isn’t working, we can decide how to disengage in ways that allow us to move forward more freely and find happiness and peace. Our needs and desires are important and we can ensure they are being met. Our happiness is our responsibility. We know what we want, and have everything necessary to make it ours.

It’s easy to stick to a routine, even if it isn’t making us happy. We can continue to do the same things over and over again, and know what to expect. But every day is a gift. What we do with it is up to us. We can continue to coast along dissatisfied and not rock the boat, or we can take control and choose the roads that will take us to the goals we want the most. Nobody knows what we want better than we do. There is great happiness and satisfaction in living our lives exactly the way we desire, and doing things that will take us to the success we choose. Every blessing is already there for us. We just need to step forward, and claim them.

Today if you’ve been standing still and want to move closer to your goals, decide what you want the most and take the first step forward. Every destination is there for you, and nothing can keep you from reaching them. Your life is yours to design. Nothing is out of reach. Be confident and sure. You are amazing and intelligent, and can make your dreams come true.

Olympic Gold

Excellence is powerful. When we see someone do something incredibly well, we may be astounded and seriously impressed, and rightly so. Watching someone do something amazing like achieve an Olympic gold medal is inspirational and motivating. Mediocrity is simple to achieve. We can coast by doing the minimum required to get things done and work marginally around the edges to get through. We can have small, uninspiring lives filled with monotony and routine, or we can live them fully and reach further. We are capable of achieving anything and when we apply ourselves and push beyond what is customary to what is exceptional, we can reach amazing success and do things we only imagined possible. All our dreams, even the very difficult and complex ones, are possible, but before we can accomplish anything, we must believe in ourselves. If we doubt we’ll be able to reach the goal, chances are we won’t. But if we’re determined to get there, no matter how complicated or difficult the road gets, nothing can keep us from success. There is greatness in all of us but it’s up to us to recognize and apply it. We are the only ones who can take us to the gold. Every dream we desire is possible, and if we’re wiling to do what is necessary to reach them, we will succeed. The lives we want the most are there for us and we can reach any destination. By stepping forward and staying the course, we can go anywhere and do anything. It’s all there for us. We just need to decide.

There are endless things we can accomplish, and everyone dreams about the things they want the most. Maybe we want to earn more money, go on vacation, get a degree, or a million other things. We can think about what we want for as long as we like, but until we do something to get it, nothing will change. If we want something different, we have to do something different. Repeating the same patterns and behaviors will guarantee we stay exactly where we are. The world is huge and there are unlimited things we can accomplish and places we can go. Instead of standing still and watching it go by, we can step up and move toward the goals we most desire and make them ours.

Everyone is different and we never have to conform to anyone else’s ideas about how we should live or what we should do. We define our own personal success, not the world or those around us. We can choose the roads that will take us where we most want to go, and design our lives any way we choose. Every option is open and when we’re ready we can begin any journey we desire. Our happiness is our responsibility and by being true to who we are and what we really want, we can find great satisfaction and success.

Today if you’ve been skirting the edges of your dreams and waiting for something to change, decide what you want the most. Your life belongs to you alone, and you can do anything you desire. There is greatness and excellence in you, and every goal is possible. Take control and start your journey forward. You can have the life you desire and make your dreams reality. It’s all there for you. Step forward and claim it.
