Smarty Pants

15 Mar

There’s a lot of stuff to learn as we go through our lives. We gain much through experience, but if we want to be well educated, we can work hard to get through elementary and high school, and then decide what we want to concentrate on moving forward. We can go to college and get a degree, and maybe even go to graduate school. The sky’s the limit and we can learn anything we like and go as far as we desire. Knowledge is a wonderful asset and can open many doors. We’re all capable of many things, but everyone is on a different intellectual level. Some of us are happy with just a basic understanding of things, others seek out more and strive for the highest levels possible. When we need information, it’s nice to know someone who is highly educated who can answer the questions we need help with. But knowledge is only an understanding of facts about how things work, how they change, how they affect us and other interpretations. It’s good to be knowledgeable but that has nothing to do wisdom. Wisdom is when we take everything we know and apply it in ways that benefit and enlighten us and make our lives and the lives of those around us better. It’s entirely possible to be very intelligent and well educated, and still make continually bad decisions. Leaning on the facts we’ve learned will only go so far. It takes effort to develop wisdom and learn to live effectively and happily. We are capable of accomplishing anything we desire, but if we want to achieve success, as we accumulate knowledge, we must also learn to be wise. Every destination is possible if we’re willing to do what is needed to get there. Our lives are ours to design and we can do anything and go anywhere we desire. Success is always there for us, and we will achieve it.

Being smart is like having the key to the first door that blocks our path. We can open the door and start forward, but there is rarely only one complication in any journey. When the next problem arises, the first key we used will not fit and we’ll have to find the best way forward by using our personal skills and discern what we need to do next. If we are foolish and simply choose the easiest path, we might move ahead a little, but the easiest road doesn’t always lead to the destination. By taking our time and carefully considering all the options possible, we can find our way and reach the prize.

We may face a time where all the facts tell us to go one way, but our intuition and personal inspiration point in another direction. We know what we want and where we want to go. We are insightful and wise and can weigh all the possibilities before us. By trusting our instincts, and using our best judgement, we can move forward with confidence, sure of success. Every goal is possible, and with wisdom and focus, we can make them ours.

Today think about what you really want and how you want to proceed. You can do anything you desire and can accomplish amazing things. Trust yourself and step forward toward the goals you desire most. Be wise and confident. Every dream is there for you, and nothing can keep you from success.

Legacy

12 Mar

As we go through our lives, we impact the world around us. Everything we do and every action changes something. We may think nobody is noticing, but our influence may be more far reaching than we imagine. One rude comment may affect someone for a long time, and one smile may change an entire day for someone else. Who we are and what we do are our legacy to the world. What kind of legacy we build is completely up to us. If we are negative and pushy, storming through our days with no consideration for others, what we leave behind will be unpleasant and disagreeable. If we are kind and open, cheerful, and willing to help, everything we touch and everyone we interact with will be embellished. There are others around us most of the time and our influence will affect their lives in some way. No man is an island – we’re all in this together. We’re all sharing the same space. We are always in control of our lives and our actions tell those around us who we are. Whether our impact is positive or negative is our choice. They say misery loves company and when we’re angry or upset, if we want to, we can spread it all around and make everyone else miserable. Or we can exercise self-control, and value those around us enough to spare them the gory details of our disappointment. Our lives are ours to design and we can do anything we like, but everything we do makes a mark somewhere. There is greatness in all of us, but we’re all at different places on the spectrum. We may be exactly where we want to be, or feel we’re lagging behind in some way. If there are things we want to change, we can do what is necessary to change them. Everything is possible and we can become the people we most want to be. We all have gifts to offer the world. How we offer them and how we express ourselves will determine what we leave behind.

Everyone has bad days where nothing seems to go well, and we struggle just to keep going. Life is filled with challenges and trials. If we focus on all the negative and get bogged down with depression and despair, it’s harder to keep going than if we see things more objectively. Crap happens, and it happens to everyone. We will always have whatever we need to prevail, and by looking forward and trusting ourselves, can manage anything we must with clarity and optimism.

There is great nobility in all of us. We have the potential to change the world for the better. Nobody can offer the gifts we have to give, and every interaction gives us the opportunity to improve something and strengthen those around us. Whatever we give, we will receive in return. Sharing a light in the darkness will enhance and extend the light we have to give. We have so much to offer, and with patience and clarity, we can bring goodness and excellence to everyone.

Today, remember the influence you have over the world around you. We’re all affected by the choices you make. Decide to bring joy whenever you can and share goodness and light. We’re all blessed because you are here. Show us your best and you will find great satisfaction and happiness.

Jekyll Factor

9 Mar

People are complex and we all have many facets to our personalities. Some of us are introverts, remaining calm and quiet most of the time. Others are more outgoing and like to actively interact with those around them. People are unique and unpredictable and there is no way to know what they will do. If things are going well, they may be easy going and friendly, but if events turn and they are agitated, they may suddenly become angry and aggressive. We may be taken by surprise by our own response or those around us. This may be aggravated when outside influences impact our personal control. If we are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, we may seem the same or everything may change. Like changing from Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde, we might manifest behaviors that are the exact opposite of who we are in otherwise normal conditions. Whether from outside influences or the situation we’re in, if that happens, it may affect our lives in ways that impact our relationships and impede our progress. If we act out in ways that are hurtful or destructive, it may be hard to repair the damage once we return to normal. It’s hard to trust people who are volatile and erratic. We don’t know which personality we’ll be dealing with, and that may create a chasm between us and those around us. We are in control of our lives and are free to choose anything we like, but we are not free to choose the consequences of those choices. If we continue to do things that break the trust of those around us and damage our relationships, we may find ourselves all alone, somewhere we never wanted to go. We are smart enough to make good, wise choices and can pave the road ahead to the destinations we most desire. With clarity and determination, we can find great success and build the lives we want the most. Nothing is out of reach, and we have everything we need to prevail.

Our relationships are important to us, and we all want strong, healthy connections to those we love and care about. But building good relationships takes effort and attention. If we routinely trade them off for a quick thrill or step away to do things that put barriers between us, we will never achieve the goal. Nothing is more rewarding or brings more happiness than the bonds we build with those we love. By making our relationships a priority, we will gain great peace and satisfaction, and our lives will be enriched.

The pull of the world can be great. It’s easy to be lured away from what we want most for what we want at the moment. Immediate gratification is a constant temptation, and we may give in to it instead of doing what is needed for long term happiness. We deserve complete happiness and with patience and wisdom, can make decisions that will enable us to reach it. Every blessing is there for us, and every dream is possible. We can trust ourselves to find the answers we need to reach every goal.

Today if you’re thinking about stepping away for an immediate thrill, consider your personal goals. You are a blessing to the world and your light lifts us all. Decide what you want the most, and step forward to claim it. Everything is possible. You are amazing and powerful, and nothing is out of reach. Success is waiting.

Big T

5 Feb

There are some things in life that are irrefutable. There is gravity, the sun will rise, and we all need oxygen to survive. These are common truths we all accept. In life, there are things we can adjust and manipulate to facilitate our plans, but changing reality is impossible. Truth is the one thing that cannot be changed. What is true, is true. We can try to ignore it and pretend it’s not there, but nothing can hold truth back forever. It’s powerful and in time, however long that takes, will become evident. Some people think there are values of truth – big truths and little truths – but that’s a false assumption. Something either is true, or it isn’t. There is no sliding scale. If we want to do something and can’t get it through, we can try to force our way by manipulating the situation until it bends enough to facilitate our plan. That might work at the beginning but eventually reality will make itself known. Truth does not involve feelings or emotions, or take what’s happening around us into consideration. It simply exists as it is. What we do with it is up to us, but if we try to circumvent it, long term success will elude us. The only way to move forward effectively and successfully is to look at everything objectively and recognize what we can change, and what we can’t. If we see things as they truly are and create our plans accordingly, our chance of success will rise. Dreams are nice but living in a dream state will only hold us in place. By confidently facing reality with all it’s complications and detours, we can move forward toward any goal we desire. Nothing can hold us down when we’re determined to move. We have all the wisdom and intelligence we need to find our way through any situation. Every single success is possible, and with focus and clarity, we will make our dreams come true.

When facing difficult situations, people may make up stories or tell us the situation is different than what is obvious to us. We can say anything we want, and try to disguise whatever is uncomfortable, but that will not change the facts. We may feel bad, but facts have nothing to do with our feelings. They stand alone, and when we accept things as they are, even when they’re uncomfortable, we can begin to do what is needed to correct the situation. We are capable of managing whatever comes and have all the resources we need to overcome any problem or complication.

We will all face times when our lives aren’t exactly the way we want them to be. Maybe we took a wrong turn and ended up somewhere we don’t like, or we didn’t pay attention and got lost headed in the opposite direction of where we want to go. Where we are now isn’t a permanent assignment. We can change our course at any time. We can create the lives we want the most by facing what’s happening openly and honestly, and then doing what is needed to move us forward.

Today if you’ve been ignoring what is really happening around you, look at everything openly and objectively. You are stronger and more powerful than you imagine, and can do anything you desire. Decide how you want to proceed, and step forward with confidence. Every dream is there for you and nothing can keep you from success.

Sudden Remorse

21 Jan

We make dozens of decisions each day and millions of decisions as we go through our lives. We are human and it’s impossible to make every single choice well. Everyone makes a bad decision at some point, and when we realize we’ve completely missed the mark, we may feel great disappointment. If we’ve deeply injured someone else, we may feel sudden remorse. When everything is visible after the fact, we may wonder how we could have said what hurt them so badly, or how we could have thought we were on the right road. Looking back, it’s easy to see all the facts and where we went wrong, but what’s done is done and cannot be erased. When we make a big mistake and the effects of our decision are far reaching and painful, we may feel horrible and wonder how to proceed. It may seem impossible to continue on, but a bad decision isn’t the end of our journey. Even if what we’ve done is destructive and terrible, there will be things we can do to amend what has happened. If we are truly sorry for what we’ve done, we can start by apologizing to those affected and ask for forgiveness. Depending on what’s happened, forgiveness may come right away, or it may take time. Hurting someone deeply erodes their trust in us, and it may take considerable time to re-establish it again. Nobody is perfect. We all fall down from time to time. By understanding what we’ve done and choosing ways to heal what’s been broken, we can regain the trust of those we’ve injured, and continue forward together. There is greatness is all of us. If we forget our nobility for a moment, we can regain it and start again. We can do what is needed to move forward with clarity and integrity. Nothing can keep us from achieving anything we desire, and we will succeed.

When someone does something that pierces us deeply and hurts intensely, our relationship with them will suffer. Nobody wants to be around those who purposely make them feel bad or wound them emotionally. We never have to stay anywhere we don’t want to be. It doesn’t matter who the offending person is, what their status in our life has been, or how much influence they have over us. We are worth more than we imagine, and the whole world is embellished and blessed because we are here. If we don’t want to continue any relationship in our lives, we can step away.

Big mistakes in judgement may bring not only emotional pain but also physical danger. If we follow someone else’s example and it turns out badly, we cannot blame them for what happens. Not realizing what would result is no excuse for our actions. We are responsible for taking care of ourselves, and solely accountable for everything we do. We have what we need to make excellent, strong decisions, and with patience and focus, we can do what is right, and reach success.

Today if you’ve made a big mistake and feel intense remorse, do what is needed to repair the situation and re-gain the trust of those around you. There is greatness in you. Every goal is possible, and nothing is out of reach. Be the best you can be, and step forward with confidence. We’re all blessed because you are here. Show us your light, and every success will follow.
