Perfection and Excellence

18 Jan

There are levels of success in everything. Most of us want to do our best and when the results are something we truly desire, we may put a lot of time and effort into our endeavors. We may strive to do things perfectly so we can elude complications or additional stress. It’s fine to aim for perfection, but reaching it is rarely possible. We only have control over our own choices, and no matter where we are or what we’re doing, chances are something is going to get in the way. Having a paved road that’s clear and free from interruption is always the hope, but this is real life, and there are often all kinds of variables at play over which we have no control. Setting our sites on perfection is noble, but may work against us in the long run. Instead of pushing to do things perfectly, we can instead strive for excellence. If we continually do the very best we can and choose the best roads ahead, we will find the way forward with confidence when problems arise and things get jammed up. Perfection is never a requirement for success. Staying focused on the goal, and consistently doing things that move us forward will take us there. We deserve every happiness, and are worthy of every success. By making wise choices, and keeping our eyes trained on the road ahead, nothing can keep us from anything we desire.

Success comes in many different ways. There is never only one road to any destination. When we’re planning our next steps, we may look at all the options possible and decide on how we’ll proceed. Although we may be confident the choice we made is absolutely, positively the best plan, someone else may be just as confident choosing a completely different model. Different interpretations do not mean someone is wrong. We can trust ourselves to find our way forward, and despite hiccups along the way, be confident of success.

If we’re convinced we must do things perfectly, we may spend countless hours defining and refining our plans. It’s good to explore the most advantageous methods possible, but if we’re seeking perfection we may never do anything but work on the plan. There will rarely be a time when absolutely everything falls perfectly in line or every single possibility has been addressed. Life is fluid and constantly changing. We can make the best plans possible where we are now, and reach the goal by being flexible enough to face any changes as we move forward.

Today think about the goals you want to achieve. Look at all the options possible, make a plan, and take the first step forward. Don’t worry about what may go wrong. If something gets in the way, all the answers you need to get around it will be there. There is greatness in you and incredible success ahead. Be confident and sure. The road ahead is waiting, and nothing can keep you from any destination you desire.
