Everyone has their own ideas and we all have something to contribute. If we’re confident and out spoken, we may offer our opinions without being asked, and comment on things as we see them. It’s good to have ideas and viewpoints, but if we value our own thoughts above those around us, we may push them out of the way to get our point across. We may sit impatiently while they voice their suggestions and ideas, and instead of listening to what they’re saying, may instead simply wait for them to stop talking. When they’re done, finally, we may jump up and inform everyone that we have the answers and know what needs to be done. Being confident is generally an asset, but disregarding those around us because we think we have all the answers will not pave the road ahead. We may have great ideas, but we aren’t the only ones. Everyone has their own perspective and others may see things we didn’t notice and be able to point out ideas we haven’t yet considered. Instead of waiting for them to stop talking so we can take charge, we can really listen to other viewpoints, and then find the best way forward. Everyone has something to offer. Being open to every idea and considering every possibility will open new roads ahead and help us find success. We are intelligent and wise, and by listening carefully, will find the best way forward.
Nobody likes a know it all. It’s impossible for anyone to know everything, and it’s hard to deal with someone who is always sure they have all the answers to every situation. Everyone sees the world a little differently, and there is no way to know absolutely everything all at once. Even if we’re sure we know exactly what needs to be done, listening to other perspectives will help us see everything in a new light. Success is possible and we’ll achieve it more easily if we’re open to new ideas and different directions.
Nobody is perfect and we’re all going to fail at some point. If we’ve made a mistake in judgement that has caused difficulty for others and upended our plans, we may feel terrible. Instead of denying our part in the error, we can accept the situation, and then do what is necessary to correct our course and start again. The destination is still possible, and with careful planning and thoughtful attention, we will reach the goal.
