As we go through our lives there is no way to know what will come. We don’t have control over anything but the decisions we’re making. There are billions of people in the world and they’re all making decisions as well. Sometimes someone else’s choice may cause a domino effect that rolls our way and pushes us in a new direction. Change is constant and even if we plan well and are intently focused on moving forward, something may happen that stops us cold. We might know why everything has changed, or we may have no idea. Either way, if the way ahead is now blocked and impassable, we will have to decide how to proceed. There are few clear, paved roads to the destinations we desire, but there will always be a way around whatever is blocking our path. It may not be convenient, it might take us the long way around, and it might require more time to get to the destination, but there will be a way forward. If we hold fast to what we want, we will find our way and reach the goal. It sounds easy enough – just change direction and get there. But life is rarely that easy. If others are involved, we may need to get agreement before we can proceed. The road may be covered with huge rocks and hurdles we must overcome to advance even a little bit, and we might have to venture into foreign territory where we don’t know the terrain or the players. A storm may develop, and we may be buffeted by high winds and torrential rain. At some point, we’ll have to decide if the goal is worth what we’re going through. If it is, we have all the courage and wisdom we need to continue forward. We can dig deep, hold fast, and push ahead with focus and determination. Every single dream is possible. Every single one. We just have to decide what we want the most.
Lots of people continually come in and out of our lives, and we may seek their guidance and value their opinion. If we’re seriously focused on achieving a goal, and they disagree with our decision, they may try to dissuade us from continuing. They may encourage us to try for something easier, saying the goal isn’t worth all the effort we’re expending. We can always alter our course, but nobody knows what we want more than we do. It doesn’t matter if others don’t understand or agree, we can design our lives any way we like, and reach every destination we desire.
There are endless things to capture our attention and unlimited ideas to try. We can do anything we like, but first, we must decide what we want. If we don’t decide where we want to go, we may spend all our time distracted by every possible option and achieve nothing. We can have the lives we dream of once we take the time to determine exactly what that means, and then do what is necessary to make it ours. Every destination is possible, and nothing can keep us from success.
Today if the road you were on has become difficult and you can’t see the way ahead, decide what you want the most. If the goal is important, trust yourself and continue forward. Each step will lead you to the next, and if you persist, you will reach the destination no matter how hard it is to achieve. Nothing is too far or too complicated for you to manage. Be confident. Success is always there for you, and you prevail.
