Shelter

18 Jan

When we’re outside and the weather suddenly turns, a hard wind begins to blow and rain starts pelting us, we may quickly look for shelter. We may rush to find cover so we can be shielded from the storm. We want to find somewhere to be protected from the onslaught until things settle down. Physical storms can happen unexpectedly, and we may be caught unaware and unprepared. The same is true in our personal lives. Everything can change in a second and we may find ourselves suddenly exposed and vulnerable to situations that threaten to destroy our progress or personal well-being. Instead of seeking a roof to protect us, we may need the shelter of someone else’s advice and counsel. We’re all in different places in life and what we’re going through that’s new and unexpected may be something someone close to us has already overcome. We can ask for help when things fall apart and lean into the understanding of others until we find our footing. Nobody knows everything, and we don’t have to face hard challenges alone. There will always be help there for us, and by reaching out and seeking it, we will find the comfort and guidance we need to get through. Storms will come and trouble will follow, but every answer will always be there for us. We know how to get help and we will find our way. The shelter of those who care about us will help shield us from the torrent until we are able to stand on our own. We’ve already faced many difficult times and overcome, and we will again. We can trust in our ability to get the help we need and find our way through. Every destination is possible, and nothing can keep us from reaching them all.

There are billions of people on earth and they’re all making choices and decisions. Each choice brings a result and when those results affect the road we’re on we’ll have to find a way around it. Screaming and complaining because there’s something in the way will never move us forward. There will always be way around any obstacle we must face. We can find another road in another direction and still achieve our goal. A detour is not the end of our journey. Nothing can hold us in place forever, and we will find our way.

When our lives are going well and we’re reaching success, someone near us may suffer a hardship. If they need help, we can extend ourselves and offer assistance. We’re all more connected than we realize, and by being the shelter for someone else in times of stress and discomfort, our compassion will increase, and our understanding of others will deepen. We are wise and capable and can lend our strength to help others through. Our kindness and consideration will enrich those in need, and bring light to us and the world around us.

Today if there’s a storm raging and you don’t know how to proceed, ask for help and let those who care about you give you shelter until you find your way. You are strong and capable, and will find all the answers you need. Be confident and trust yourself. All your dreams and goals are possible. Step forward and the road will open. Nothing can keep you from success, and all your dreams can be yours.
