There are a lot of things we want to accomplish in our lives. We have goals to reach, destinations to get to, and endless activities to pursue. The world is a big place and the opportunities for growth and learning are unlimited. No matter where we are, or what we’re doing, there is always something new to try. We can fill our time with new ideas and experiences and have a rich, deeply satisfying life. Every goal is possible, and we can do anything. Each adventure will stretch our understanding and enlighten our perspective with new knowledge and an enhanced viewpoint. There are so many things to do, and if we want to, we can have lives filled with delight and interest. But change and growth don’t always come easily. The road to them may be long and we may have to invest significant time and energy to reach them. It’s like climbing a hill. Small hills may represent things we want to do that can be accomplished quickly. A small rise is easy to climb and we hardly expend any effort at all overcoming it. But bigger goals require more from us. If we have to climb a big hill that’s covered with rocks and brush, it’s hard to navigate upward and we may tire and struggle to reach the top. But the rewards we gain are commensurate with the effort we must expend to get them. Small gains make us happy but big accomplishments bring great satisfaction and benefits that enrich us and give us intense gratification. We can do anything we desire, but success in each instance depends on what we’re willing to invest in gaining it. We can climb the Mount Everest of goals and reach the pinnacle peak, or we can simply stroll along and take an easier route. Our lives are ours to design, and the happiness we achieve will be reflected in the choices we make. Life is long and we are highly capable. We can accomplish any desired dream and have the lives we want the most.

Routines and patterns can be very powerful. When we do the same things every day, we know pretty much what to expect and may feel comfortable and relaxed. But routines cannot bring excitement and new experiences that refresh us and teach us more about ourselves and the world around us. If we’re complacent, we may feel content, but we will never know what we could do or how far we could go. We are responsible for the lives we lead. We can extend ourselves to reach beyond where we are, and gain greatness moving forward.

There are many exciting opportunities possible, but waiting around and hoping they will simply appear will not bring them to us. Wishing for a richer, more satisfying life will change nothing. Every possibility is available to us and if we want more, we can do what is needed to create the lives we desire. Our dreams are within our grasp, but we must reach for them and make them ours. We can take control and step forward toward the goals and destinations we want, and find true happiness.

Today if you’ve been keeping to a routine but want something more, look around and decide where you want to go. You are smart and capable, and can have the life you desire. Take a step forward and open a new door. You can do anything and you will win.
