Smarty Pants

3 Oct

We all have different kinds of intellectual gifts. Some people are very precise and detail oriented, noticing every tiny item, and nuance. Others have a more common-sense ability that allows them to see things simply and clearly. We’re all different and each have our own gifts to offer. If we value information, we may seek advanced education to help us understand more. Education and intellectual prowess are wonderful attributes to pursue, but they don’t always increase our ability to use wisdom in our reasoning. Intellect and wisdom are two very different things. Intellect allows us to comprehend and understand facts and procedures easily. Wisdom is the ability to use our intellect in ways that are beneficial and helpful in moving us forward. We can gain millions of facts, and understand endless data, but if we aren’t wise, can still make poor decisions. Knowing how things work is one thing, but understanding how we can make them work for us is quite another. We’re in control of our lives and every decision, and if we make choices based only on facts and nothing else, we may not reach the conclusions we desire. Wisdom helps us to look at everything objectively, consider all possible influences and outcomes, and then choose the best road ahead. Everyone has the capability of being wise, and we can learn to make the best decisions possible. We have all the insight and intuition we need to comprehend even small implications. Our perceptions help us discern the best road ahead and comprehend the many possible outcomes of every choice. Success is there for us when we consider every aspect moving forward and we can choose well.

It’s possible to become arrogant and believe we have all the answers. If we won’t tolerate disagreement, we close doors that may be beneficial and helpful when making important decisions. Most of our decisions involve other people and how our choices impact them is important. By being open to every suggestion and idea, we will make the best choices, and reach the conclusions we desire.

Some things can’t be learned from schools or books. Life is filled with all kinds of developments and complications, and sometimes we must rely more on our sense of what’s right instead of what the facts say. We know what we want to do and where we want to go. We can see everything clearly and with patience and wisdom, make the best choices for our next steps. Every destination is within reach and we have everything we need to succeed. Nothing is impossible and with determination and focus we can achieve every goal and make our dreams come true.

Today if you’ve been relying on your intellect to move forward, remember there is more in play than facts. You have all the wisdom you need to discern the best road ahead. Success is always there for you. Look at everything clearly, decide what you want, and then step forward with confidence. You are strong and capable, and you will succeed.

Foreign Language

2 Oct

There are all kinds of people in the world. There are unlimited expressions, beliefs and lifestyles. The scope of our differences is vast and as we span the globe, we can see endless variations to the human experience. Even in our personal circle, there are many different interpretations and decisions being made. We’re all unique and individual, and entitled to our personal choices. Sometimes we meet people we quickly understand and feel a close affinity for. But other times we interact with those who are very different and we struggle to understand them. It may seem like they are speaking a foreign language. We can try to find common ground, and often we’ll discover something we share. However, there may be times when we’re so different, we can’t relate to them or discern their beliefs. We all have our own choices and decisions to make, and can create our lives any way we choose. We never have to fit a certain model or do things like others. However, even if we’re very different, we can find ways to communicate and interact with others that is mutually satisfying and beneficial. By accepting individual tastes and preferences, even if they are foreign to our own, we can open the door to effective communication that helps us get closer and find similarities we can relate to. We’re all individuals and it’s the variety that brings great enrichment. We can be confident in who we are and allow others to express themselves as they choose. Reaching out and accepting difference will bring great satisfaction and depth to our lives.

Learning a foreign language takes a lot of practice. At first, we may be intimidated by the enormity of trying to communicate in a completely new way, but with practice our confidence will grow, and if we stick with it, we’ll make what is foreign familiar, and gain fluency. The same is true when we’re interacting with someone who is completely different than we are. We may feel uncomfortable at the beginning, but as we talk to them and collaborate with them, we will begin to relax and understand them more easily.

If every flower on earth was yellow, the sameness may affect our attraction to them. When we do the same things every day, speak to the same people, and go to the same places, we may feel at ease expecting the same things again and again. But variety intensifies our interest and peaks our attention. Our lives are enriched and embellished when step onto new roads. Life is filled with possibilities and opportunities for growth and enrichment. We are wise enough, and brave enough, to embrace what is extraordinary and exceptional.

Today if you’ve been shying away from something foreign because you don’t understand it or are uncomfortable, remember what is foreign becomes familiar when we get involved. There is so much possible and you have unlimited potential. Open a new door, make a new friend, and embrace all the blessings possible. You are amazing and have so much to offer. We all want to know you. Share yourself with those around you, and show us who you are.

One Bite

1 Oct

There are endless opportunities available to us all the time. We can look at all the options possible and then choose where we want to go and what we want to do. The beginning of a new quest brings refreshment and excitement as we look ahead at new destinations and what we will accomplish. Some goals are easy and don’t take a lot of time but others may be more complex, requiring us to devote many hours and lots of concentration in order to achieve them. When we have a long journey ahead of us we may be tempted to try to take some shortcuts to shave off a little of the time and effort necessary. That might work or we may find nothing but the long way forward will get us there. When we’re eager to get to the end, we may try to do more, or do it faster to move us ahead more expeditiously. Instead of taking it step by step, one bite at a time, we may attempt to take on the whole thing at once thinking it’ll speed things up. We can try anything, but that old saying of “haste makes waste” make come into play and work against us. Rushing ahead may help in some ways, but we may miss some important information and cues along the way. There is always much to be learned in every endeavor and if we’re patient and plan our steps ahead carefully, we can take advantage of everything we can gain from the experience. Taking it one bite at a time is often the best way to proceed. Unless there is some time constraint pressing us, we can move ahead at a pace that allows us to advance and still learn everything possible from the experience. Success is always there for us, and nothing can keep us from reaching any goal we desire. We have all the wisdom and courage we need to go anywhere and do anything. We can make our dreams come true and have the lives we desire.

Few things in life go as planned, and even fewer go exactly the way we want them to. Disappointments will come and getting angry and upset won’t help us process them. Life is filled with unexpected developments. There is always more going on than we can see or even imagine. When a roadblock appears and we can’t advance, there will always be a way around. There are many roads leading to every destination. If one doesn’t work, we can always start again from another perspective and find our way forward.

If we’ve been pushing forward toward a goal for a long time and don’t see any progress, it may be time to re-assess our actions. Perhaps we’re moving too quickly and missing important cues for the road ahead. Or we’re distracted by other things that take us off course and we are constantly having to regroup. Every goal is possible but we must focus and keep our eyes on the road if we want to succeed. We are capable of accomplishing anything we desire, and with determination we can reach any destination.

Today if you’ve been trying to do too much at once and are stalled in your progress, step back and look at everything clearly. Decide on the way forward and take it one bite at a time. You are amazing and powerful, and nothing is out of reach. Step forward with confidence and claim the prize. Everything is possible and you will succeed
