Our lives and experiences are individual to each of us. We’re all unique and everything we go through is specific to our own personal journey. We may interact with all kinds of people and some of them will share experiences with us, but our own interpretation makes each step individual and exclusive. Sometimes the lives of others may seem somehow better than ours. They may seem to have an easier path or more advantages than we’ve been given. They say the grass is always greener on the other side and that may be true a time or two, but sometimes what we think is greener grass from far away turns out to be weeds up close. Nobody gets a perfect, easy life without heartache or trouble. There are no free passes when it comes to trial and hardship. We’ll have our share and everyone around us will also have theirs. Although it may seem that others have it easier, we cannot possibly know the whole story. They may have terrible trials we know nothing about. There is no way to know everything about anyone else’s life. We can only see inside our own minds and understand completely what we’re going through. It’s impossible to see the entire picture from the outside looking in, and we don’t know what personal struggles others may have before them or how hard it is for them to continue. We have many blessings in our lives every single day. Even on our worst day, there will be something for which to be grateful. Life is filled with possibilities and we have everything we need to have the lives we desire. Weeds and grass can look the same from afar, and we need not judge ourselves against what we think others are experiencing. Every blessing is possible and we can step forward with confidence to get the lives we want the most.
We cannot help the circumstances into which we’re born. Some people arrive to wealth and comfort, and will have easier access to opportunities and options. Others are born to poverty and struggle, where every step takes effort and nothing comes without work. If we don’t have the advantages of others, we can still find success. Dirt roads lead to destinations just like paved ones. We can decide what we want, and then do what is needed to accomplish it. Everything is possible and with determination and confidence, we can achieve anything we desire.
When our lives aren’t where we want them or we don’t have the advantages of those around us, it’s easy to complain about our lot in life. We can stand still and gripe for as long as we like, but it will never bring us happiness. We’re always in control of our lives and we can stay where we are, even if we’re unhappy. Or we can decide what we want most and then begin to do what is needed to achieve it. Everything we desire is possible and when we’re ready, we can move forward and claim it.
Today if it seems it’s harder for you to succeed than those around you, remember how strong and capable you are. There isn’t anything you can’t do. Decide what you want and then take the first step forward toward the goal. You are powerful and wise, and nothing is out of reach. Where you are now is just your starting point, and nothing can keep you from success.
