We’ve all heard stories of people who have won the lottery and seen them smiling for cameras holding the big check. It’s exciting to think about winning and getting all the cash we think will improve our lives, and we may dream about it and persistently buy tickets in the hope that the dream will come true. Someone will win the lottery and it might be us but the odds are currently 1 in 292 million that it’ll happen. Those are long, long odds. To put it in perspective, the odds of being struck by lightning in our lifetime are about 1 in 5,000. We can buy all the lottery tickets we want but instead of wishing and hoping for something so remote and out of our control to change our lives, we can actively pursue a path that will take us where we want to go. We have a far greater chance of success when we’re in control of where we’re going than waiting for something to simply fall in our laps. We’re in charge of our personal destiny and we can determine where we go and what we accomplish. Success is always possible and once we define it we can chart our course forward to achieve it. Our lives are ours to design and we can do anything we truly want to do. If we want great financial success and are willing to do what it takes to accomplish it, we will succeed. Nothing is out of reach but we must achieve success ourselves. Nobody is going to give us everything we desire simply because we want it but with determination and persistence we can get it. Nothing is out of reach once we decide what we want. We can do anything and reach any success we desire.
It’s important to have dreams and they inspire us to do great things. We can dream all we want but until we do something to make our dreams come true they are like clouds sailing across the sky with no substance or direction. All the hoping and wishing in the world will never make them a reality. We must plan for success and then move forward toward it to make it happen. All our dreams can come true when we do what is required to achieve them.
We can spend our lives unhappy and bemoaning where we are, complaining we never got the chance to do what we wanted. We can blame our circumstances, those around us, the pressures of family or tradition, and anything else. We always have the power to change our lives. There isn’t anything we can’t do but if we are afraid, or lazy or simply don’t want to try, nothing will happen. It’s easy to stand still. It requires little effort and even less thought. There is greatness is all of us and we are more powerful than we realize. We can do anything, go anywhere and achieve any dream we desire but it’s up to us. Nobody is going to hand us the perfect life. We must create it for ourselves.
