Working Doubt

We all face difficult situations that make us doubt our ability to get through.  Doubt is simply a feeling of uncertainty or lack of conviction that something will work.  It’s a normal response when we face situations that are unknown or threatening in some way.  We can’t see what lies ahead and when we’re facing challenging issues we may feel unsure moving forward.  We may be convinced we cannot prevail and may worry about what will happen next.  We can effectively manage and address our doubts with hard work.  When we’re working hard and are actively engaged in something there is no time for worry.  We’re busy processing where we are and planning for our next move.  Fear gets pushed aside as we begin to plan our way forward and each step we take quiets any doubts we may have.  There is an old saying that when the going gets tough the tough get going.  If we begin moving forward when we are concerned, we will feel stronger and more in control.  Hard times come to us all.  We can try to hide from them, ignore them, and look the other way but they will persist until we address them.  Even if we don’t have enough confidence to feel comfortable, we can begin to work the problem and sort it out.  We can untangle all the details, and as we resolve each question our confidence will rise and the doubts we may have felt at the beginning will subside.  We are strong and capable, and possess all the wisdom we need to overcome anything that happens.  There isn’t anything too complicated or difficult for us to manage, and by working hard we can find our way through any problem.

The world is big and complex.  There are unlimited things that can happen and no way to predict what will come.  If we’ve been through several difficult challenges in a row we may start to doubt our ability to continue.  Sometimes things go wrong consecutively and when we’re tired from the struggle we may feel like giving up.  It’s hard to feel positive when we’re in a negative position.  But if our backs are against the wall we can be pushed no further.  If we’re on the bottom we can only move up.  We can reach deep within ourselves and find the strength and courage we need to continue one more time and work the problem.  We can push off the wall and stand up again.

They say the harder we fall the stronger we rise.  When obstacles before us are heavy and there is a lot to work through, we gain strength as we learn new lessons and find our way forward.  Overcoming each challenge teaches us something we can carry ahead with us, and pushes us to manage more effectively.  We can find the way around any barriers and prevail.  Hard lessons often bring great blessings.  We can be confident even when we doubt, and strong in our conviction that we will win.

Today if you’re in a difficult situation that is so complex you aren’t sure you will get through, trust yourself.  You’ve overcome hard times already and have everything you need to prevail.  Pull from the strength and courage you possess and move forward with confidence.  Nothing is too difficult for you to overcome.  Take control and start moving.  There is great success just ahead.
