Permanent

18 Jul

When we’re young, we have ideas about how we want our lives to go. We may make big plans about what we’re going to do – we’re going to be astronauts, or race car drivers, or ballerinas or a million other choices. If we hold onto the same dream as time passes, and work out what we need to do to reach it, we can do just about anything. But time has a way of changing how we think, and modifying what we want. We learn more about how things work and what we can expect, and make choices about the type of lifestyle and work life we desire most. If we’re lucky, and everything falls into place as expected, we may reach our fondest dreams exactly when and how we want them, but this is real life and there’s a lot going on we can’t control. Complications will always arise and sometimes the road will turn without warning. One thing leads to another and we may find the careers we end up with, the places we’re living, and the things we’re doing aren’t what we originally planned on. If we’re happy where we are, great, but nothing is permanent, and if we still yearn for something different we can move toward it. Time is powerful. If we’ve been in a situation that is unfulfilling and unrewarding for a long time, we may believe it would be too difficult to try to change it and just decide to suck it up and deal with it. Of course we can do anything we like, but there isn’t anything that can’t be changed if we’re willing to do what is necessary to change it. It may not be easy, and may be uncomfortable while we work on the transition, but every dream is possible. We can move locations, change careers, let go of relationships that aren’t working, and modify anything that isn’t making us happy. We’re in control and it’s all up to us. By deciding what we want the most and then doing what is needed to make it ours we can achieve complete happiness and satisfaction. Nothing is out of reach and we are smart enough, and strong enough to reach success.

Relationships are important and when they work well they add great benefit and blessing to us. It’s wonderful to share our lives with someone who likes us, enjoys spending time with us, and wants the best for us. If we’re in a relationship that is difficult and brings continual duress and stress, it will be impossible to be happy. We might learn how to deal with the ups and downs, and how to manage the arguments and problems, but expending energy just to get through on a continual basis will wear on us and prevent us from finding true happiness and peace. We deserve complete happiness and never have to stay in any situation that doesn’t work for us. We can change anything at any time, and have the lives we dream of.

If we’re working, our careers may be very important to us. If we’re doing something we enjoy, work is easy, but that isn’t always the case. The dream jobs we want aren’t always available to us and we may end up doing something we didn’t plan on because of opportunity, income or a thousand other reasons. Once we’ve been in the job for a while and become established, it may seem that although we aren’t happy, trying to change would be too difficult. Change isn’t always easy but if there is something we really want, we have everything we need to get it. Routines are comfortable and it’s easy to keep doing the same things again and again, but nothing is permanent. We can modify anything at any time. Every option is possible and with wisdom and clarity, we can create the lives we want the most.

Today if you’re not satisfied with something in your life but have been reluctant to change it, think about what you want the most. You are amazing and far more capable than you imagine. Every dream is possible if you’re willing to do what is needed to make it yours. Decide how you want to proceed, and take a step forward. Nothing is too difficult for you or too far away. Be confident and stand strong. There is great happiness and success just ahead, and you will make them yours.
