Our lives belong to us and we’re responsible for every decision we make. Everyone wants to be happy, and we try hard to do things that will bring it to us. There are a lot of influences around us all the time, and we might get into a situation where someone we care about pulls us away from our own road. If we love them and want a close relationship with them, they may have a lot of power over our choices. They may ask us to turn away from our own goals in order to get closer to what they want. It’s hard to resist the pull of intense personal feelings, and we may sacrifice our own journey to give them what they want. We can do anything we like, but our lives are important. If we trade away our own personal choices for someone else’s, we’ll never find complete happiness. It’s good to give of ourselves, but if we give so much, we lose our own lives, we will never feel satisfied or fulfilled. We’re entitled to our own personal happiness, and it isn’t selfish to hold onto what we need to gain it. We can serve those around us and still maintain our own autonomy. The roads we want to travel and the gifts we have to offer are unique to us and can never be given by anyone else. We are one of a kind, and everything we do changes the world in some way. If we give our power to someone else, the whole world will lose our amazing influence. We know what we want and where we want to go. We can serve others, and still hold onto our own personal journey. Every day is a precious gift, and with focus and wisdom, we can live our lives with great success, and reach complete happiness.
If someone wants something from us, they may push all our personal buttons and convince us that doing what they ask will make us happy and bring us closer together. If we love them, we might let go of our dreams to do as they ask. We may ignore our personal lives, and sacrifice our own goals to comply with their requests. However, it’s the responsibility of everyone to find their own happiness. We are not responsible for providing it for anyone else. We can offer our time and still hold fast to our own desires and destinations. We deserve the lives we want the most, and we can control our decisions in ways that help us achieve them.
We have a lot of responsibilities all the time. Our jobs, our families, our personal stuff, and everything that must be taken care of to keep things moving forward. If one area requires too much time and attention, it’s likely the other areas will suffer. We can’t control what others do, but we can control how we manage our time. There will always be a way to take care of things, and still have time for ourselves. We never need to trade everything away. We are valuable and important, and can make decisions that bring us the lives we want the most.
Today if someone close to you wants more of your time and attention than you’re comfortable with, remember you are in control. Your dreams and desires are important. Give what you can and keep moving forward. Every destination you desire is there for you, and nothing can keep you from success. Be confident and step forward toward your dreams. They are there for you, and you will reach them.
