Heart Times

13 Jun

Human beings are complex creatures. We have intelligent minds that help us through each day, and emotions that color our choices. We try to make excellent decisions but sometimes our feelings take over and we might choose something based on how we feel instead of looking at the situation logically and objectively. Our emotions make us human and give us compassion and understanding. They are part of us and impact everything we do. When we want something emotionally, it’s very hard to ignore. The old saying that “the heart wants what the heart wants,” may be true, but the head is what makes every decision. We are intelligent and capable, and responsible for every choice we make, regardless of any emotional influence. If we choose something based on our feelings instead of choosing objectively based on the facts before us, we might find ourselves someplace we didn’t intend to go. Emotions by their very nature can be irrational. Often, they aren’t based on facts, reason or logic. They are simply how we feel and can be influenced by countless outside forces. That doesn’t mean we’re doomed to fail if we follow our feelings. We can understand how we feel, and still do everything possible to make the best choices going forward. Our emotions can help us find our way and are strong personal guides in choosing the best roads ahead. If we feel confident and happy with the path we’re on, we may continue forward sure of ourselves. If we’re confused or feel conflicted about a decision, we can stop and re-evaluate how we want to proceed until we feel confident in our choice. By using both our intellect and our emotional influence, we can make the best choices going forward. One can complement the other and we’ll find our way to every goal we desire. We are capable of making excellent choices that lead us to the destinations we’ve chosen. With wisdom and clarity, we can determine each step going forward and find every success.

When we choose based only on our emotional feelings, our decisions may lead to problems and unnecessary complications. Becoming romantically involved with a married person, making a financial choice based on what our family wants instead of the facts, or making personal decisions based on our desires at the moment instead of what we want most of all, may seem okay at first but may not work out in the end. If we allow ourselves to be ruled by how we feel instead of thinking each choice through carefully, our lives may be filled with turbulence and stress that affects our ability to think clearly and darkens the way forward. We can set our feelings aside and see things objectively so we can review everything openly, and find the best road forward.

Basing our decisions on the facts available to us, and choosing objectively, allows us to see the road ahead more clearly than if we choose simply because of how we feel. Facts lead us to objectivity and clarity. We are intelligent and can find all the answers we need. We can set our feelings aside in order to make the best decisions for the road ahead. Every decision we make takes us somewhere and with patience and wisdom, we can reach any destination we desire.

Today if you’ve gotten caught up in an emotional situation and can’t see the way forward, step back and take a break. Give yourself time to settle and allow your mind to rest. When you feel calm again, all the answers will appear and you’ll find the right road ahead. You are amazing and powerful, and nothing is too complex for you to understand. Be confident and step forward. Every success is there for you and you will reach it.
