It’s fun to ride the bumper cars at carnivals and fairs. We have the opportunity to drive around in small, little cars and run into those around us, jamming them and preventing them from moving forward. It’s funny to see what happens as we bounce around and try to drive when others are pushing us. Bumper cars are fun but when we’re trying to get through a task or reach a goal, it’s nice to be able to move forward without any complications. However, sometimes it can feel like our lives are like being in bumper cars at the fair. Everywhere we turn something is in the way and if we try to move forward, something comes along and pushes us off track. We only have control over our own decisions, and other people may do things that keep us from moving forward or hold us in place. It’s impossible to get closer to our goal if we can’t advance and just continue to drive around in circles, knocked one way and another. Life can be filled with all kinds of complications and we don’t always know what others are doing or how their decisions will impact our plans. But we’re in control of our own choices and when we see the road ahead is blocked, we can find another way. There are many roads to every destination. We can leave the bumper car behind and choose a path that’s clear and available that will take us to our goal. We may have to backtrack or go in the opposite direction for a time, but eventually we’ll be able to maneuver onto an open road and continue forward. Every destination is possible but they aren’t all easy to get to. We may have to redesign our plans again and again until we find what works. It doesn’t matter how many revisions it takes. We can continue moving forward and reach any goal.
There will be few times in our lives when there is only one option for success. Generally, there will be several possible scenarios that will take us where we want to go. Any road we choose can be modified to take us to any destination. Things may not be ideal and we may have to wait until our circumstances change before we begin. It doesn’t matter when we start. Every step will take us closer to the goal and if we’re determined and focused, nothing can keep us from success.
There may be times when no matter what we do, we can’t move forward. We may be stuck because of circumstances beyond our control, or decisions being made by others. If we can’t advance now, we can let go of the goal until things change and we can start again. Nothing stays the same forever, and if we’re patient and watch carefully, we will find the chance to begin. Every goal is possible and we can make all our dreams come true. We can be wise and patient, and then with determination and focus, reach any destination we desire.
Today if you’ve been pushed off track and feel like you can’t move ahead, step back and look at the situation clearly and objectively. There is a way forward and you will find it. Be confident. Choose the road ahead and begin again. You can go anywhere and do anything. Nothing will keep you from success. You are powerful and wise, and will find the way forward.
