Being the Creator

Life rolls out one day at a time, and most of us cannot see the future before it unfolds.  There is no way to know what will happen next, what will come, or how things will develop until they do. What’s on the other side of the door isn’t visible until we reach out and open it to see what’s there.  Although we can’t predict the days ahead, there are some things we can be sure of. There is an old saying, “If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.”  It’s a true axiom. It’s impossible to expect change if we keep doing the same things over and over. If we want to make more money but refuse to leave the job we’re in or do what is needed to move ahead, the money will elude us. If we want to be more fit but don’t exercise or change our activity levels, nothing will change. If we want more excitement in our lives, but continue to follow the same patterns and go to the same places, our lives will remain the same. In those ways, we can accurately and precisely predict the future. When we keep everything the same, we create a future very much like the present we’re living. Our lives are ours to design and we can do anything we desire, but we must be willing to do what is needed to achieve the changes we want the most. Standing around, daydreaming and hoping something will happen that will transform everything into what we want will do nothing. We are smart and powerful, and when we’re ready, every dream awaits. Every possibility is there for us, and with focus and determination, nothing is out of reach. We can create the lives we want the most, and find complete happiness.  

Nobody gets a perfect life where everything goes exactly the way they wish, and there are no trials or hardships. Things will go wrong, people will disappoint, plans will fall apart, and we will have to find our way through. Trouble comes to us all, but there are no problems without solutions. No matter what is in the way, or how the road turns, if we are determined to reach the goal we will find the way forward. The answers will always be there for us but we must be willing to search for them and then implement them once we find them. Few things come without effort, but no matter what is required, we have all the courage and strength we need to push forward. No destination is too far away or too difficult for us to manage, and with clarity and patience we will prevail.

It takes courage to change our lives. Staying in the same place, and doing the same things is easy and comfortable. If we want something more, we can look at all the options possible and make a plan to move toward the goals we most desire. We can go anywhere and do anything, and we never need permission or agreement of those around us to achieve what we want the most. There is great success just ahead, and every goal is possible. By trusting ourselves, and stepping out of our comfort zones, and reaching further for what we want, we will succeed.

Today if you want to change your life, and do something different, think about what you want the most and make a plan. Be confident and take the first step forward. There isn’t anything you can’t do. Trust yourself and move toward the goals you most desire. Every destination awaits and nothing can keep you from success.  You are amazing and highly capable, and nothing is out of reach. Every dream is waiting, and you will make them yours.

Labels and Names

There are billions of people on the earth. They all look different, have different customs, their lives are varied and there are endless interpretations of every aspect of life. We’re all unique and are entitled to our own opinions and ideas. We can do anything we like, and if we meet someone who is very different than we are, and don’t understand them, we may assign a label to them, or lump them into a group. We may call them any of a thousand different things we think describes them according to our own ideas and impressions. Labeling people generally does nothing good. Putting people in boxes restricts them and may change how we think of them and how they respond to us. Being called a name may be flattering or it can be uncomplimentary and degrading. We are all people sharing the planet. We don’t need everyone to think like us, or look like us or follow the same beliefs and standards we set for ourselves. By honoring other viewpoints and listening to different perceptions, we’ll be enriched and learn more about ourselves and those around us. Nobody only wears one color all the time, or eats the same foods every day. Differences are important and bring great depth and variety to our lives. By understanding those around us and sharing our lives with them, we will find great satisfaction and wisdom moving forward.

When we’re in a group, it’s a lot easier if everyone is on the same page. If we’re all focused on accomplishing the same goals and agree on how that should be done, things may go more smoothly than if everyone wants to do things their own way. Different ideas and ways of doing things can either bring complications or embellishment to group dynamics, depending on how we view them. If we’re open to hearing various ways of doing things, and trying another way forward, new ideas will form that may completely change our perspective.

Right is right and wrong is wrong – we can all agree on that. But one person’s idea of what is right may not agree with someone else’s. Being different doesn’t mean being wrong. If nobody is getting hurt, and it’s just a matter of interpretation, all ideas are worthwhile. If we’ve always done things a certain way it can be hard to adjust if someone comes along and turns everything upside down. By being flexible and willing to bend in a new direction, we will learn new ideas and find great success.

Today if you have labeled someone because of their personal characteristics, think again. Remember the great blessing and enrichment differences can bring. Listen to alternative viewpoints, and try to understand the situation from another perspective. You are very intelligent and wise. Be open to contrasting ideas and your life will be enriched. Everyone is valuable and there is great success ahead for us all.
